  1. In the grand scheme of things, this move is more than a good one. He would have been cut anyhow. Atleast they got a pick. I'm sure they are trying to move a few other guys as well but guys like Margus Hunt aren't warranting a draft pick in return.

  2. There is a boatload of WRs on the board that I like, so I'm not too concerned there.

RB is getting super thin. Marlon Mack was the absolute last RB on the board that I liked last year when we got him. It's starting to get to that point again this year. I'm not a Kalen Ballage fan. He is the classic looks like Tarzan plays like Jane prospect. I'm a lot higher on Jaylen Samuels (who is listed as a FB) than most people. Samuels is going to be a steal because of his versatility. I'm very confident he can be a three down back in the league.

The other backs I have on my board are Bo Scarbrough, John Kelly, Mark Walton, Darrel Williams, Ito Smith and Nyheim Hines. Hines is in the Chris Thompson mold and would be best suited for a similar role. After that I see a bunch guys that I want no part of.

Round 2C- A: Arden Key DE

                      B: Nick Chubb RB

Round 3- A: Darius Leonard LB

                    B: Kerryon Johnson RB

Round 4- A: Daesean Hamilton WR

                    B: Austin Corbett OG

Round 5- A: Tegray Scales LB

                    B: Marquez Valdes-Scantling WR

  4. Not my favorite mock but I could live with it. My take on your mock:

    1. Roquan Smith ILB- I'm on board here. Fits a big need and has All-Pro upside.

    2. Billy Price OG/C- I'm on board here. Injury will probably slide him here. Fits a need and he's a very good player with great interior versatility.

    2. Darius Leonard OLB- I'm on board here. Ideally we would be able to land him a little later but I could live with the selection at this spot. He answered any questions about playing with the big boys during his outstanding Senior Bowl week performance. I see him as a three down linebacker with Telvin Smith as a player comparison.

2 .Donte Jackson CB- I'm on the fence here. Extremely athletic but undersized in terms of weight at the NFL level. I see him as more of a nickel than a true No.1 or No.2 corner (Most teams are in a nickel package most of the time anyways these days, so not necessarily a big knock).

    3. Lorenzo Carter OLB- I'm on the fence here. Kind of a boom/bust guy to me. Never really lived up to his 5-star rating coming out of HS. I do like his upside but I think he will need the right situation to bring it out of him. Some scouts seem to think he could play OLB in a 3-4 or a 4-3 but I can't say with confidence were his best fit is.

    4. Jalyn Holmes DE- Not on board here. I can't see him being an effective 4-3 DE in the league. Very limited as a pass rusher from the outside. I think his best bet is too add 20-30lbs. and move inside to DT.

    4. Dante Pettis WR- I'm on board here. I can see him as an effective slot receiver or No.2 WR. Seemed like he was banged up a lot but was productive when on the field.

    5. Greg Senat OT- I'm on the fence here. Seems like a big project/developmental type player to me so a round later would have been nicer. Limited football experience but has upside. Will have time to develop so he could pay off.

    6. Tre Flowers S- I'm on the fence here. Has good bloodlines but I see him as a special teams player mostly. I don't see him contributing much at the S position at the next level.

    7. Antonio Callaway WR- I'm on board here!. Although I highly doubt he'll be available in the 7th round, I love the pick. This being a weaker WR class at the top, I think Callaway would have been one of the first WR of the board if he didn't have some many character red flags.

  5. Once the Giants traded away JPP, it seemed like a lock to me that they have every intention on drafting Bradley Chubb.

There is a chance Denver could pull the trigger on Nelson at #5 but I think they go a different route. I think Denver pulls somewhat of a surprise and takes Harold Landry to pair up with Von Miller.

If we don't trade out of the #6 spot, Quentin Nelson will be extremely hard to pass on. It's kind of hard to get excited about drafting an OG at #6 but Nelson is really starting to get me excited about the possibility of transforming our O-line into a strength instead of a weakness.

People forget Harold Landry had 16.5 sacks before battling a ankle injury last season playing the same competition as Chubb in the same conference. When healthy he might be better than Chubb if we’re going off of production in CFB

This is why I think we will see Landry go in the top 10. Pass rushers are still a premium position and I believe some teams will have Landry graded out as the top pass rusher in this class.

  7. I've followed college recruiting and the NFL draft very in-depth for twenty years now. I always think the drafts are loaded because I usually know 70 or 80% of the guys coming into the league. I think this draft falls in the average category as far as future starters go. There are a good handful of day three guys with Pro Bowl potential IMO.

I always like to see how each team's scouting department views different players. Some teams may have a first round grade on a guy that some teams see as a fourth rounder and so on. Some teams will not have guys like WR-Antonio Callaway and OT Desmond Harrison on their draft boards because of red flags. But I think both could end up as the best players from there respective positions when we look back at this draft.

Colts best draft in a long time. Banner was the only pick that I didn't love. I don't think it was a terrible pick but I liked a couple of other lineman more that were still on the board. Every single one of our picks can contribute at some capacity this season, IMO.

Apparently Banner saw time in Cleveland this past season. Again, the only pick I didn't love.
