  1. I agree that our rushing attack should be improved. However, I'm not as high on Hines as most of the board are. I don't think he's going to be terrible or a big bust but I don't expect him to light the league on fire. I just didn't see a 4.3 speed guy when I watched his tape. I think a lot of people think he is going to be a Chris Thompson or Tarik Cohen type of player (which he profiles as) but I didn't see that same type of speed on game day.  I could be wrong or course but again, I didn't see it on film.

I am very excited to see what Wilkins brings to the table. On film (college tape obviously) he reminds me a lot of Arian Foster. I haven't seen any reports on how the rest of the league viewed him coming out and honestly he wasn't really on my radar during the draft process. I know he had some issues with school grades and maybe something minor off the field at Ole Miss but his tape was pretty darn good.

It seems like it's a lock that the Colts will use a committee and that it's pretty unlikely that any one back will get more than 15 touches a game.  Probably better than half of the league is using this approach these days and I don't have an issue with it if you have the right stable of backs. I do think we have the right stable and am very excited to see us hit the field.

Steelers had to abandon the run. Patriots drafted a RB. They aren’t good against the run. They finished 19th. Those stats you put up would tell you so. They also had a hard time maintaining a lead. They got figured out. I’m not worried about them at all.

They weren't good against the run until they traded for Marcel Dareus. After that move the gave up an average of 98 yards per game on the ground which was 7th best in the league during their final nine regular season games.

I’m not to worried about them. They’re defense has been figured out. They’re not good against the run and it sets up the play action. Over the course of the playoffs you seen the amount of points they gave up.

Wait, what? The Jags more than tightened up their run defense at the end of the season and into the playoffs. Here's their last four games and total rushing against:

Week 17- Lost to Tenn 15-10 and gave up 116 rushing yards

Wildcard- Win against Buf 10-3 and gave up 130 rushing yards

Divisional- Win against Pitt 45-42 and gave up 83 rushing yards

AFC Ship- Lost to NE 24-20 and gave up 46 rushing yards

The Jags defense might be one of those great generational type defenses. They are great at all three levels and I hate the fact that we have to play them twice a year. Yes, we always play them twice a year but in years past they didn't have this type of defense.

This will be Chester Rogers coming out party this year. I'm not calling him Antonio Brown but I see those quick twitch, change of direction, body control, precision routes that break DB's ankles in him....

I'm on board here. I have a feeling that Rogers is really going to open some people's eyes this year.

I'm not sure why you think we are only going to keep 8, or in your case if we cut Simon, 7 DL? You're also forgetting Hunt, who I think might be a surprise at the UT role, and Grover Stewart. The Colts will likely carry 10 DL. Tomasi Laulile could open some eyes too.

I'm projecting 9 DL on the final 53 and Hunt isn't one of them. I'm surprised he hasn't been cut yet.

I agree that the next QB after Keenum will probably be Chad Kelly...and the best thing he could be doing is working with the large numbers of newcomers the Broncos have brought in the past 2 years.

But reading words out of Denver, they think they have a playoff team...with case this year.

They think they drafted as many as four (Chubb. Freeman. Hamilton and Jewell))who will be staring this year

They got the RT from Arizona..the punter from Oakland, the safety Cravens from Washington.

Those moves suggest an all-in for this season...

They got everything they were trying to get in the draft

Agreed. They are built to win now. Their draft haul filled a few of their most pressing needs but I still think they need another CB.

Really solid draft but the same problem for them since peyton left (and you could even say in peytons last year), lack of a quality QB.

Keenum was good last year but i tend to believe he returns to what he has been everywhere else except minnesota.

Keenum is just keeping the seat warm until Chad Kelly is ready to take the reins. You didn't hear a peep from Kelly last year and that was a good thing. Besides being a knucklehead, Kelly has the potential to be a very good NFL QB and I've been pretty high on him for years. If he can keep his head on straight, the Broncos QB search is over.

  8. I had already written Perry off in my projected 53 man roster. Most positions have been fairly easy to project besides WR, CB, and the LB positions (Meaning guys that will make the roster and not actual depth). Seems like #4 and #5 WR are nearly impossible to project at this point. CB is pretty open after #3. I'm stuck on the last LB spot on the roster as well.  A lot can change between now and final cuts.

I saw Mike Wells projected depth chart on ESPN the other day and he has Josh Ferguson making the roster over Jordan Wilkins. I saw no way in hell that that happens.

  9. Lance Zierlein gives the worst player comparisons I've ever seen. Deon Cain couldn't hold Roddy White's jock strap. Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for Cain to succeed. Colts are going to need one of the three rookie WR on the roster to contribute at some point. Cain might have a slight edge over Fountain and Ishmael but I don't think there is a big difference between them. Camp competition will be fierce.

I saw that the IU QB, Richard Lagow, got invited. Even as an IU fan I was kind of surprised. Seemed like more of a nicety than anything though.

I'd take Lagow over Barrett all day in the NFL. Lagow didn't really fit IU's uptempo offense. I cringed every time he ran the ball. However, Lagow does have NFL size and arm strength. Watching Lagow and Peyton Ramsey warm up on the sidelines was like watching a father and son play catch in terms of arm strength differences.

Lagow would still be a long shot to make the squad but if the Colts decide to keep three QBs on the roster, I think Lagow will give Kaaya a run for his money.

Make room, there are dozens of us. This was the pick I legitimately shouted in  joy over.

I'm all in on Leonard. I was very intrigued after the first few days of Senior Bowl practice and then I went and did my homework. He can do it all and do it well. If he's not starting day one, it probably won't be long afterwards. I can't wait to see him evolve into the player I think he can be.

The DE position is going to be very crowded this year. My only worry is that there are too many mouths to feed which will hurt the development of Basham and our rookies.

You can never have too many pass rushers. When they get gassed they are nearly useless. Stack them deep and keep them fresh. There should be plenty of snaps to go around.

Your high he isnt starting Anthony Walker Jr is getting that Morrison can't even cover this defense the lbs must know how to cover

Neither Morrison or Walker are getting anyone excited about being the starting MIKE, but unfortunately they are our two best options right now. Morrison is better against the run and Walker is better against the pass but neither is really even average at either. Maybe one of the rookies can steal the job but at the moment I wouldn't bet on it. I've always liked Skai Moore but he is pretty light and could stand to throw on 10-15lbs.

  14. I'm very intrigued by this guy. Besides a good scouting report, I haven't found a highlight tape anywhere. Sounds like he has the tools to be a pass rushing interior lineman but is pretty raw and not a ton of game experience. Looks like two years of high school ball and parts of three seasons of college (three total starts and appeared in 33 games). It sounds like he fits what we are looking for and hopefully they found a gem.

Our scouts really like him as a middle linebacker.  A little undersized but fast and a sold hitter and tackler.  I think Morrison could have trouble making this team.

I think I'm in the minority but I think Morrison will be the starting MIKE this season. From the limited amount of tape I've seen on the two rookie MIKEs we drafted, I don't think either diagnose a play as well as Morrison does.

Read up on what they say about Franklin.  You'll see what I'm talking about.

Yea, I meant to say "didn't know". After they took him I did some research and watched some of his highlights. I would say I'm optimistic on Franklin. His highlights looked solid but they were "highlights". I watched a condensed version game of him vs Louisville and he looked lost and out of place a lot but I think most college LBs did against Lamar Jackson lol.

After reading what our scouts have said I could actually see both 'Cuse boys making the team.

I don't know much about Franklin but every time I turned a Cuse game on, Ishmael was making a contested grab. I love this pickup and would be shocked if he didn't make the team. I actually like him more than Deon Cain. I've been watching Cain play since he was in high school and always thought he played smaller than his size. Cain is a track guy to me and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he didn't make the team.

I like Barrett a lot, he'll be a good 3rd string QB for now, and possible insurance to Brissett as we learn how Luck recovers.

0.0009% chance that JT Barrett is on our or any other 53 man roster when the season begins. Barrett is not an NFL caliber QB. Yes he had a pretty stellar career at Ohio St but that is mostly him being a product of Urban Meyer's system. I would have rather given Richard Lagow a tryout than Barrett. Atleast Lagow has an NFL arm. I almost lost my mind that when I saw that we are given Barrett a tryout. Shortly after I saw the news, my phone blew up with texts from my friends that are Ohio St fans. They all had the same reaction I had. They hated Barrett and thought he was the third best QB on the OSU roster behind Burrows and Haskins (I've had to hear about it for the last couple of college seasons). The only thing Barrett offers an NFL team, is maybe leading them in team prayer before a game.
