  1. Luck embarrasses the vaunted Denver cornerbacks, throwing for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns. Phillip Dorsett exposes Bradley Roby, blazing out 120 yards and a score. Dwayne Allen and Jack Doyle continue to be hot, combining for 100 yards and a couple scores. Semian shows that he's still learning in the league, throwing 2 picks and only 200 yards. Gore nears 100 yards, but just misses it.

    1 points PPR

    Starters

    RB: D. Murray, D. Woodhead

    WR: Allen Robinson, AJ Green

    Flex: Mike Wallace

    Bench:

RB - Latavius Murray (only real option considering matchups)

WR - Jarvis Landry, M. Sanu, Tajae Sharpe

Stick with what I got or swap out?

I would put Landry in instead of Wallace. With the Dolphins playing the Patriots, even without Brady, they should be playing from behind. Jarvis is the offenses target hog and he should see double-digit targets. In PPR, that creates a ton of points. Other than that it looks good. I would contemplate D Murray or L Murray, but Danny Woodhead is going to get a lot of targets now with Keenan Allen out. He is quite possibly their #1 receiving option now. I like that for PPR. I need Sanu to prove it another week before I jump on board with him, and the same goes with Sharpe.

  3. While I agree the run game wasn't the best, it did enough to keep the defense honest. Other than that, the 406 passing yards and 4 touchdowns easily makes up for what was lacking in the running department. While the defense was horrific, you have to remember that by the end of the game we only had 5 healthy members of the secondary who had to play every single down. Fatigue and inexperience definitely played a part in the final drive by the Lions.

PPR league. Who for my flex, Moncrief, Kevin White, Tyler Lockett or Jordan Matthews.

If you want the highest floor, I would say Matthews. If you want the highest ceiling, Moncrief or Lockett. I would personally say Matthews is the top option here because he is the best receiver on the Eagles and a rookie QB tends to target his top receiver more often as a type of security blanket. He should see double-digit targets this week as Wentz settles into the NFL

    Rawls vs fins

    Decker vs Bengals

The easy choice would be rawls, but I'm concerned about what kind of workload he'll get and rather this whole split carry thing with Christian Micheal is legit

I'm still not sure Rawls is back to 100%, and the whole Christine Michael deal kinda runs me off. His workload is questionable, whereas Decker is the clear #2 receiver for the Jets. I'd say Decker is both the safest and highest upside player here, even against the Bengals.

Listed as 3rd QB on the depth chart. Behind 2 bums, Case Keenum and Sean Mannion. If Jared was any good at all, you would think he would be starting Week 1. He must be very bad to be 3rd QB

It's definitely to early to call him a bust. He needs time to refine his game before he's NFL starting caliber, but he has the physical tools and potential to be in the top half of the league among QB's. So no, not a bust. At least not yet.

  7. Let's look at the comparisons:

    In Our Favor:

    Colts Receivers vs Lions Cornerbacks:

Sure, Darius Slay is an up-and-coming cornerback in the league, but behind him you have names such as Nevin Lawson, Johnson Bademosi, and Quandre Diggs. Not exactly inspiring names for them. On the other hand, we have three receivers that could all arguably be a number one receiver on another team. Slay can't cover them all.

    Colts D-line vs Lions O-line

While the Colts D-line is not exactly the best in the league, it is one of the deepest. They don't have a very inspiring O-line as it is, and with our fresh bodies all able to hold their own in the league, it comes down to bodies against bodies. Advantage goes to the side with the most bodies (AKA us).

    In Their Favor:

    Lions D-line vs Colts O-line

Ziggy is a monster. There is simply no way our sorry excuse for Andrew Luck's protection can stop him (sorry for being rough, but it's true). Ngata can swallow up the run game with his massive frame against the interior O-line. Don't be surprised if Luck gets hit more than 10 times in the game.

Surprisingly, nothing else really stands out. While it can be argued that their receivers have the edge on our corners, they don't have Megatron to break the game anymore. This leaves the game-breaking odds 2-1 in the Colts favor. I'm giving the Colts a 24-17 victory here.

  8. Last night, the bottom part of the depth chart had an extended look at the field in an attempt to prove they were worthy of a roster spot. While some underperformed or are at positions to deep for them to be kept, other position battles are worth taking a look at. Here are some of the players up in the air at the 3 most obvious positions.

    Wide Receiver:

This is by far the biggest question of who to keep in my opinion. Hilton, Moncrief, and Dorsett are obviously 1, 2, 3, but who comes after them? The three with the most compelling cases are Quan Bray, Chester Rogers, and Tevaun Smith. While Quan Bray has a better chance at making the roster due to his deadly return abilities, none of the three are a lock. Rogers and Smith have both looked very good at camp and through the Preseason, but with the Colts likely only keeping 5 receivers, one of the three has to go. The question now is who?

    D-line:

Even with injuries plaguing the defense, one of the biggest questions on that side of the ball is who will be the backup's on the line. Our main three is more than likely set with David Parry, Henry Anderson, and Kendall Langford, but with Anderson questionable for week one, the depth is going to be tested. Primary backup Art Jones is currently working through a four-game suspension, leaving Rookie Hassan Ridgeway, TY McGill, and Zach Kerr as the top options at backup. This will be another tough decision for the franchise.

    Tight End:

The top two TE spots are all but taken, with Dwayne Allen and Jack Doyle filling those. The 3rd spot is up for grabs, though. Chase Coffman has looked good on special teams while also getting involved in the offense, while Erik Swoope has looked great on the offense. It will be tougher than many would think to decide between the two for the final spot.

Other Positions with Tough Decisions: QB, O-line, Linebacker, Cornerback

Thanks for reading!! Hope you enjoyed!

  9. After the first wave of cuts, who do you want the Colts to try out? Some notable names that stick out to me include:

    Stephen Paea, DE

    Alan Ball, CB

    Brandon Tate, WR

    Terrance Knighton, DT

    Rueben Randle, WR

    Brandon Browner, DB

    David Cobb, RB

    Perry Riley Jr., LB
