Don't overlook the injuries Seattle sustained on the defensive side of the ball this year. Dewey McDonald, Richard Sherman, Clif Avril, & Kam Chancellor (pretty much their entire secondary), all went on IR, & Seattle's D still finished 6th overall in pass defense. Considering we could really use help in that area, and we have some nice young pieces to work with in our secondary, Richard seems like a no-brainer to me.
I’d also add E. Thomas to that list of injuries during the beginning of the season.

Could you imagine if Grigson wasn't an * and drafted Landon Collins?
Hooker, Collins and Fitzpatrick could all be representing the Shoe in 2018.
Nuts.
Xavier Rhodes instead of Björn too... it seems like some decent DBs have been available during Grigson’s tenure. I know Landon was always mocked to us but I was super high on Floyd and Rhodes in 2013. I thought Minnesota killed it.

Would be really impressed with him for our second round selection. I’d like to watch some more tape of him in coverage but I like what I’ve seen thus far.

I don’t like Nelson at 3 unless we trade back a little and gather extra picks. At 3, I’m saying one of the following: Fitzpatrick, Chubb, or Williams.
-
Arden Key at 33 and Orlando Brown at 38, interesting. Both would be fantastic second round selections.

How has Norwell played over his career? Just curious. Albert Haynesworth was the most dominant defensive lineman I had ever seen in his contract year. We all know what he was like after his payday..
He isn’t a one year wonder, in 2016 he was ranked in the top 10 LG and top 5 for some.

But Scherff was drafted to play tackle... that's where he was initially played in camp of his rookie season.
But it quickly became clear that his best position was guard and not tackle so the Skins made the switch.
But the hope was for tackle. That's why they spent the 5th overall pick on him.
Multiple scouting outlets said that Scherff projects better as guard for various reasons. I would put a disclaimer saying they could play tackle but not left tackle due to various traits and only in certain schemes. I hope is always to get the most bang for your buck and often times if the tackle doesn’t work out they can be transitioned to guard.

He was listed as a T in the draft and that is the position he played in college, but yes he has switched to and currently plays at G
He played tackle in college but was listed as OG for the draft. I remember this vividly as I had a bet with a buddy and sadly lost.

We almost have to trade back, IMO the best pick for our positions of need would be the Nelson guy who sounds like the best guard coming out of college in a long time, but can we pick a guard with a top 3 pick? I dont think so , the last time an OG was taken in the top 5 was Leonard Davis taken #2 by the Cardinals in 2001. The question for me is, how far do we trade back ensuring we get the best value for our pick, but making sure Nelson is still available.
Brandon Scherff 5th overall in 2015

Could use the 2nd and 3rd round pick to trade into the range. People fall all the time look at Billings and M. Alexander from last year.

But you can surely start with the best prospect at the second most elite position in the league. Good pass-rushers don't hit free agency anymore so we will need to draft ours and this is a great opportunity to do that. IMO the value is not there for us to make a luxury pick like Barkley at 3.
I don’t agree with the other poster in taking Barkley but I wouldn’t be opposed to solidifying the o-line to protect the “most elite position in the league.” It in turns allows for more time for the wide receivers to get open and opens up more running lanes for our backs. My philosophy is about starting in the trenches on both sides of the ball first and this can’t be accomplished in just one draft.

I could go with either the Cardinals or Jags, but voted Jags. If Jacksonville is going to roll with a rookie QB chances are a decent pick in 2018 and 2019. Cardinals are in a similar boat but a less talented roster than the Jags.

How does 23 sacks for a season as a team sound to you? Or no. 31 in pass-rush in the league?
You can’t fix this team with one draft.

Last year the players I liked that are exceeding expectations: Lattimore, Foster, Hooker, Watson, Hunt, Watt, Takk, and Ramczyk.
I thought the following was going to be a bit better: Thomas, Barnett (I had high expectations for him), Conley (limited playing so far but could be a good pick), and Allen (shoulder worried me a bit).

This comes up a lot in other threads. What teams do you see willing to move up in order to secure their QB or coveted prospect? Just looking at the standings as of week 16, the range of 9-11 (Broncos, Jets, Cardinals) is going to be some teams looking at QB. The Giants are currently ahead of us in the draft so if they want Barkley there's no leverage currently. There is no Myles Garrett or Jadeveon Clowney level prospect and if there was, we would just select them. So the current situation seems we need another team to really fall in love with a prospect.
-
All depends on the system and how much each is going to command. I went with Robinson but that could definitely change in the offseason.
-
I really hope some teams love these QBs and want to move up. Dropping back and acquiring some draft capitol plus one of Nelson or Williams would be ideal.

IMO I don't think we have seen enough of Hooker to come to the conclusion of him being a bust. On average it normally takes two or three seasons for a player to learn his position and adjust to the NFL.
With that said we can always use a player like Chubb. Depth is something that we are in dire need of and Hooker could fill that need if need be. If Chubb is drafted let the two compete for the position.
One is a safety and one is a 4-3 End or 3-4 OLB not sure how they would compete.

got a source?
Just about every scouting report says he can play all DB positions. I wouldn’t say he could play backer like mentioned earlier.
@OP, I would be good with any of the following
1. Nelson
2. Fitzpatrick

I’d prefer 21, 22, and next years first. Could potentially end up walking away some decent quality and if someone falls could use that added capitol to move up a little.
