  1. i too am very happy with how this draft went.
  2. thanks for sharing this , well done i like having fans of other teams on the board.
  3. hopefully they are doing alright. but you're right, his play did decline after the horrible news.
  4. if Freeland can start week 1, good chance we see Smith at RG Would that put us as the most expensive guard duo?
  5. if I remember correctly, he was at RG for more than one game. But I am not entirely sure. I vividly remember him getting beat by the same stunt on the right side like 3x in one game
  6. he was at RG he got hit by multiple twists with Braden to the right of him. I'd have to go back to find the games, but I believe it was more than one. He was getting absolutely roasted on the forum. here's a game with him at RG.
  7. he definitely played some RG, and was absolutely garbage.
  8. Matt Pryor is gone, so that is great. Regardless of who we put in there, should be an improvement.
  9. glad to see a healthy discussion about this topic
  10. i think he was recently ranked as the 17th best GM, forget which outlet the ranking was from though. found it, it was NBC, check out this article on stampede blue https://www.stampedeblue.com/2023/5/22/23733110/nbc-sports-ranks-colts-gm-chris-ballard-as-the-nfls-17th-best-gm-before-2023-season
  11. i misunderstood you then.
  12. colts logo isn't a car, or something that people sit on and use. it's a symbol, that has meaning far beyond the worth of any car. Ford changed their cars thousands of times, but how often did they change their logo?
  13. I personally don't see a problem with it.
  14. i think his main point was that most people get held responsible when they do poorly at their job. depending on what metric you use, an argument can easily be made that Ballard hasn't performed well as a GM.. Ballard is an amazing scout, but that isn't the only responsibility of a GM.
  15. compared to the last poll, most people seem to support riding with Ballard for at least another 2-3 years.
  16. yes, you're correct. that's how i was thinking about it 'on the hot seat' mean some fans/media think he should be fired? edit: also okay if the question means something different to you. otherwise conversation would get boring quick
  17. I don't really disagree with what you're saying, but I think it isn't really relevant to my OP. there was certainly a conversation about Ballard not being here. Rather or not you consider that hot-seat or not, is your own prerogative. Many people thought it was a possibility he either got fired, or mutually separated. And anything colts related can always go to this statement --> "Ultimately, the only conversation that would have mattered is one involving Irsay, right?" Kind of like someone saying, "It's a beautiful day today, I love the rain". --> "Well actually, we'd have to ask God because only he truly knows the intent of weather and beauty" But uh... yeah, you can just look at the poll difference. Which is the point of the thread. There really isn't a discussion to be had rather or not there was a conversation about Ballard potentially not being with the Colts. That's why Irsay specifically came out and stated he was indeed staying, due to those conversations.
  18. i mean yeah, but he was always the second choice. so ultimately, ballard didn't want frank first. He wanted mcdaniels. but no need for that to be the main point of anything
  19. well, in comparison to the first poll it was way more heavy in favor of firing him. it was also fresh after a bad season, and horrible loss as well. with that being said, i think a lot of people are actually satisfied with this draft.
  20. There was definitely a conversation (not just on this board) that Chris might be at the end of his stay. It's alright to not have been one of those people to question Ballard's position, but there definitely was a lot of talk on rather or not he would be here. Taking a QB definitely extends his stay Imo. And this is exactly the reason he didn't rush drafting one in my opinion. Frank was never his pick from the beginning.
  21. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10076515-espn-colts-believe-anthony-richardson-has-already-made-significant-improvements
  22. There is no secret that a lot of Colts fans were extremely unhappy with how last season unfolded. We had seen a few POLLS pop up during this tumultuous time. Two that I created were to see if we wanted to fire Frank and Ballard. Interestingly, our original polls correlated pretty closely with the outcome of who was actually fired so far. Personally, I am very happy with the replacement of Frank --> Shane. I am also very pleased with how Ballard has handled the offseason, and most importantly the Draft. I believe he has shown the ability to change his ways (somewhat) with roster construction. He also got us our Mobile QB, CB, and a WR that reminds me of the slot machine TY Hilton. So, with all of that being said, how are we feeling about Chris Ballard now? The main question will be, should he still be on the hot seat? But, let's add another question to the mix. Or a few I suppose. Previous poll
  23. was coming here to post that. thanks stitches.
