  1. Luck looked like Bert Jones Sunday. The phsyical runs up the middle, the shaking off Matthews and making the play downfield on the 3rd and 12. He doesn't have as big a arm as Jones but, his ability to extend plays and the toughness he shows like when he took the vicious hit from Perry and bounced back up and smiled, it was like watching Bert Jones in his prime. Luck has Peytons mental ability to go along with Bert Jones phsyical and atheletic ability. John Elway was the only other guy with this kind of ability and look how he turned out. Luck has unlimited ability, He has no weakness, the sky is the limit as a Colt fan it

is so exiting to be able to watch this guy develop into one of the all time greats for the next 12 to 15 years. What a great time to be a Colt fan. "GO COLTS"

  2. Rolling him out gives him the option to run if the easy completion is not there its a low risk, much higher chance to get the first down than running up the middle, with our O-line.Running up the middle three plays is just hoping something good happens. rolling out is trying to make something happen with very little risk, if its not there he tucks it and runs and the clock keeps ticking just like the runs up the middle. One is playing not to lose (which usually results in a loss) the other is playing to win the game. You get the first down and they never get a chance for the 80 yard TD. No there is promise if they had went for the first down that they would have gotten it but, with three runs up the middle there is a promise that they wouldn't get the first down. Its not hindsight 20/20 its playing to win the game.

  3. I do think the coaching staff is holding the offense back a little. On the drive where we kicked the field goal we should have went for the touchdown and ran more time off the clock. I think you go for the TD as long as there is still time on the clock. In this situation I think you take advantage of your quaterbacks abilities, with Lucks atheletic ability if you roll him out and give him the option to run or throw, its just as safe as a run up the middle but, with a much better chance to move the chains. I would rather go for the throat and finish games, instead of playing it safe and hope we win.

  4. I agree with Coltsin06 100% percent, if you play not to lose, in more cases than not, you will lose. Anybody who doesn't think we have played to conservative in the second half the last two weeks are not watching the same games I've watched. You have to play to win, not play, not to lose. On the last drive after brown made the big play and on the third down you can call a safe roll out, if its not there Luck can tuck it an run, no more risk of interception than a run up the middle and a much higher chance of getting a first down throwing or running. Put the ball in your best players hands and let him make plays. why put handcuffs on your best player, it makes no sense. PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. A coach has to put his players in the best position to win the game(head coach, off. cord. or whatever) Please take off the handcuffs and let him play, Luck is a good enough decision maker, show some trust in your quarterback. roll him out and at least give him a chance to make a play.

  5. This team is so young they have to win the winnable games. A win today could have been a huge confidence builder, I just hope it isn't a devastating blow to their confidence. They will have to win a game they are not supposed to win to gain what was lost today. A young teams confidence is so fragile I hope the loss really tickes them off and makes them come out fired up against Green Bay, a blowout against Green Bay could be devastating to this young teams psyche. I hope they can at least play a respectable game, it could be a turning point for this team, good or bad .A respectable game against Green Bay would show them that they belong and can play with any team, a blowout would kill any progress that has been made to this point. How they play in this game will have a huge effect on this young team. They don't have to win, ( of course that would be even greater) they just need to play respectable and their confidence will be restored.

  6. I think he will end up being a good one but right now it seems we can count on him to kill at least one drive per game by dropping a pass thrown right into his hands, that has been very frustrating so far in the first three games. Lets hope he can get over the drops and start becoming more of a factor.

  7. Davis will only get better as the season goes on ( if the injury is not serious) the value of the trade was based on how we do as a team. We made the trade believing he was the piece that could take us from a low level team to a team with mid range to playoff possibilities. If the second round pick we gave up ends up being at the top of the second round then, the trade does not look so good, as a matter of fact it looks like a very bad trade. Could we get a player of his caliber at the top of the second round? maybe, maybe not, we all know the draft is a crap shoot, but if the pick ends up at the top of the second round, it would give Colts fans a lot of hope in next years draft ( to still have that pick) without it, the trade will be considered Grigsons biggest blunder.

It will make me (and I'm sure many others) sick to their stomach if it ends up a high pick, I hope Davis and the Colts can continue to improve and win more games because the more games we win, the better this trade will look.I know it doesn't look good right now but, it is still early in the season and a young team like the Colts can't help but get better with more experience. we will be a much better team the second half of the season compared to the first half. Lets just hope we can pick up some wins along the way. This loss will stick in our guts a while and without some big wins, so will this trade. Still trying to stay positive, "GO COLTS"

  8. I agree 100% TubaGuy I think he did a good job considering he just joined the team last week. I think the coaching staff will give Mcglynn a chance to lose the RG spot and I beleive he will, if not that would mean Mcglynn is playing good and that would be ok too. I do beleive Essex will take over for Mcglynn and that the line will continue to improve, either way with Mcglynn playing decent at center filling in for Satele and Essex looking like he could take over for Mcglynn I feel better about our O-line right now than I have at any point this season. we now no that we have a little depth at both positions. I hope our final five are LT-Castonzo LG-Rietz C-Satele RG- Essex RT-Justice and Mcglynn as a back-up at center and guard. With more time playing together hopefully the 0-line will gel and become respectable. Either way last weeks shuffling of the line makes me feel better about the unit as a whole. Lets hope for steady impronement and with the talent we have at the skill positions we could be scary. "GO COLTS

  9. Like I said I think Luck has plenty of arm strength and I think its something that will ba corrected and I'm not trying to nitpick Luck, I would not trade him for anyone, I love our Quarterback and feel there is no other quarterback in football that has as good a chance of reaching Peytons level (maybe even to a higher level with his athletic ability) as Luck does. I was just pointing out something I have noticed. (its not arm stength, he has plenty) maybe he is trying to throw it too perfect (taking something off the ball) but, he is having a problem with it. I have all the confidence in the world that he will get it worked out. Avery has taken the top off of the defense a couple of times this season and the ball has been underthrown. With more time and better timing these situations will result in long touchdown passes (Ihave no doubt) but for right now I'm just pointing out that he's having trouble connecting on the long ball. I'm not saying he will never be able to throw the long ball (he will many times I'm sure) and I can't wait til he gets his timing down and these throws become long touchdowns, its just something he's struggling with right now. Didn't mean to cause an uproar just wondered if anyone else noticed and some have. Peytons arm strength improved immensely from his rookie season to his second seaso and arm strength is not even a problem for Luck. All of his throws short, long, touch and on a rope, will only get better the more he plays.

  10. I'm just going by what I have seen of him in the time that he has played (both preseason and regular season) and it has not been good but, like I said I thought he did a decent job filling in for Satele last week but, the time he has spent playing guard he has not looked good and I'm not saying Essex is great either but I thought for a guy who just came in last week he did a decent job. Even though the Steelers did not have a good line, it was better than any line we've had the last two years and he was good enough to start for them and he's was good enough to play for super bowl teams. Mcglynn has not been good enough to hold down a jod any where he has played. I just want the best five guys playing and in my opinion I Think he gives us a better chance than Mcglynn, but maybe you have seen something in Mcglynn that I haven't we will see because I do have confidence that eventually Pags and Grigs will have the best five playing we will just have to wait and see "GO COLTS"

  11. I beleive we have enough talent at RB, It"s the line thats the problem. It wouldn't matter who we have at running back behind this line. When the hole is there I have confidence in all of our backs (no there not great but, very capable) my biggest complaint about our backs would be pass blocking, this is a must with the O-line we have. I think more screen passes and draw plays will help boyh of these units. Screens and draws will help to slow down the rush and help with the running game, which in turn will help set up the play action and this will improve the offense all the way around. I know this is easier sad than done but, when the O-line is weak you have to rely on screens, draws and short drops to protect your quarterback and to give you a shot at play-action and deep drops. Here's to hoping we get these kinks worked out and some unity with the O-line and let our immensly talented Quarterback get comfortable with the offense and do what we all know he's capable of doing. "GO COLTS"

  12. The O-line is a group that needs to play together for 6-8 games in order to gel. I would like to see this group on the O-line. LT- Castonzo LG-Rietz C- Satele RG-Essex RT-Justice. This is the group I would like to see playing for the COLTS. Although I know this group is not great or even good, I think with a chance to gel, this group will give us our best chance at respectability. I think Castonzo, Rietz, Satele and Justice are no brainers, there's nobody else on the roster who can take the place of these four. Trai Essex can not be any worse than Mcglynn or Olsen, so by default I think he should be the right guard, I'm not saying he is good but, he is definitley better than the other two. We need to pick our five and hope that they can gel.(I was encouraged by Mcglynn at center) even though he needs to work on the shotgun snaps at least I thought he was much better at center than he has been at guard and I feel better if we had to use him at center in a pinch. With this being all we have to work with, we have to go with what we have, here's to hoping the O-line can gel by improving each week because, this is our weakest link and without a decent O-line all of the other talent (and I feel we have plenty) will be much less effective. With decent O-line play I beleive we can have a pretty good season.

  13. I don't have any problem with his arm strength I think his arm is plenty strong enough. I give him all the props in the world, I think he is playing great, considering all the pressure he's been under, He has been everything I hoped for but right now his long ball is a little off and its not a strength thing, he seems to be trying to take a little somethig off when he trows long. Like I said I'm very happy with Luck, wouldn't trade him for anyone

  14. Avery stepped up big sunday as well as last week but, against the Vikings he was huge. He seems to be open all the time. I think we will get some long touchdowns from him as he seems to be real good at getting past the defense downfield as he and Luck get better timing we should be getting some long TD'S. I was also suprised by how tough he seems to be he has taken some pretty good shots the last two weeks and bounced right back up.Another good off season signing by Grigson. Avery, Redding and Freeman all seem to be working out well for the COLTS.

  15. Zbikowski does not look good at all. He is playing very passive, he brings no physicality at all. I have seen many plays where when he arrives he has a chance to dive in and dish out some punishment but, he seems to just be content to let someone else make the tackle. I thought he was supposed to be a physical player but, he has been anything but physical. I would like to see Joe Lefeged get a shot, at least we know he will hustle and be physical. Zibs has been the biggest disapointment (as far as what we thought he would bring) of any player on the team. Give Lefeged a chance to see what he can do or even Brown I can't see either one doing any less than Zbikowski.

  16. Before anyone starts going beserk. I'm as big a Luck fan as there is but, he seems to be having a problem throwing the long ball. I think it is something he can correct but, he seems to try to take a little something off the ball or something when he throws long and everything is coming up short. I think maybe he is pressing to hard and just needs to let it rip. I'm sure he will get the kinks worked out but, he is definitively having some problems throwing long downfield.

  17. Redding and Freeman were two good off season signings, Redding is the emotional leader on defense and sets the tone with tough physical play. Freeman is all over the field making plays in both the run and pass defense. You would be hard pressed to find any LB that has played better than Freeman in the first two weeks. Props to Grigson for signing these two guys, it may be paying off, even better than he expected.

  18. I agree RomanianColtFan Reitz is our best guard and does not need to be replaced by anyone. Costanzo and Reitz are a good tandem on the left side. We just need Reitz to get back on the field. Right guard is where we need help and Essex can't be any worse than the other two.

  19. like you said Balzer40 right now we have who we have. I have no doubt that if this o-line does not workout this season, Griggs will do whatever it takes (OL vets or draft choices) to fix the problem, he more than anybody wants to protect Luck. For the upcoming season he did what he could (for the dollars available) to put together the best line possible. Someone said it earlier it can take as much as half a season for a line to gel and I'm hoping this one does, if not I'm sure he will mix the pieces we have to find the best group but, for right now we have what we have and I'm behind them 100% here's to hoping the o-line gels and we have a succesful season "GO COLTS"

  20. I just hope that if the simpson helment is available to Aistin Collie that he is allowed to wear it.He has a better track record wearing it (whether it is superior or not) than not. I don't know or claim that the NFL has told him he can't wear the helment but, I don't know why he wouldn't wear the helmet if its his option.(this is a no brainer) no pun intended.I just would like for Austin Collie to wear whatever helment allows him the best chance to stay healthy and the NFL and everybody involved should want the same thing. I hope this is not about money, sponsership or any of that other crap. It should be about the young mans career his life and the lives of his family.

  21. Does anyone know if Collie is still wearing the Simpson helment? I know he wore it last year and played the whole season, if he's not wearing it this year that would really be dumb on the part of the Colts or whoever made the decision. I know it was a test helment and the NFL did not change to it as a league wide helment and if this is why he is not using it this year (if thats the case) then this is just stupid. It seemed to help last year and I hope he is wearing it again this year. If there is a safer product available then any player who wants to use it, should be allowed to use it.
