Hunter was a FA, Reddick you are giving a 2nd or 3rd rounder and a new contract or you keep him as a one year rental. So for the price of Reddick he isn't worth it, I would trust Ebukam and the new DL coach improving our young players. After 2-3 years you will have the oldest roster in the league, no young talent and have terrible cap space.

No one is afraid of paying for talented players, they just don't want to pay aging players past their peak or players that are coming off a lot of hype that doesn't match their talent. We have seen that before with Grigson and all it does is put you in a bad spot salary cap wise and unable to resign your own good players. You combine that with also having to trade away high draft picks it's not worth it.

One prospect that I think fits Bradley's scheme is Cooper Dejean, he had a season ending injury that has limited his ability to test at the combine. I think he screams as a Ballard pick because he has picked multiple players that are coming off injuries and were projected to be higher picks if not injured, then add that he is considered an athletic freak. If he falls into the 2nd I think he could be a perfect pick for the Colts as a free safety or CB.

I flat out just disagree, we actually have really good depth on this team in almost every position except safety and really only need to add one player here or there to add competition. I wouldn’t say Ballard is reactionary either, I would say it’s purposeful because each move is done with great thought and vetting, hence why we have had great success finding good players in late rounds. He does though is trust his young talent to develop for example when Stewart went down they had Eric Johnson as the run stopper but it didn’t work out. As for Kicker don’t you remember them bringing multiple kickers in always trying to improve the position, it’s actually a hard position to fill and when he had the opportunity to finally fix it he did. You could even say they had the foresight to convert R. Harrison to a LB because they knew the current LB group was bad in coverage.

I swear every year everyone gets there hopes up and every year Ballard does Ballard. Where he doesn’t do big signings, he makes some small signings that are criticized. Then it works out. This year seems especially bad because even the local media seem emotional about the lack of big signings but I really don’t get it.

Yes it does actually you want depth and players to rotate in, otherwise you have to make Stewart play the whole game and be gassed at the end of every game and being gassed at the end of the season or you have a player like Taven Bryant be in the game and the run defense gets a lot worse. Being able to rotate players in helps keep the team fresh throughout the year and playoff run, and like I previously said yes a NT is going to help you win a SB. The run defense of KC in the super bowl held McCaffrey to 2 yards less per carry, If KC didn't have their run stuffers they don't win

While I agree on the Franklin contract, I think they have some bad takes on the others like the Pittman and Stewart signing. Run defenders are important, it's not a flashy position and isn't stat heavy where you can see someones worth in stat numbers. So when it comes to podcasters, I think they really undervalue the position. The Pittman take was just bad, keeping him on the franchise tag makes it nearly impossible to resign him the following year without him reaching free agency and most likely getting a way larger contract elsewhere.

Yeah I get that take, I just feel he's too much WR who plays TE, that combined with his lack of participation in the combine and then being out due to injury at his pro day. I have an uneasy feeling that he's trying to hide deficiencies like Bryce Young last year, but that's the paranoia in me lol

To me that's not a tough choice but I really like our TE group and not a Bowers fan. I would like to see Woods get a shot this year with Ogletree, Granson, and MAC as depth.

Theres a lot of unknown factor with our team and as far as probability goes CBs don't move the needle, I bet if you look at the vegas line for the Titans it didn't move with the Sneed trade. Yes the probability is low of a SB run, but its not impossible. It's all perspective aka "glass half full or glass half empty." Honestly this team has great depth, while I personally would like a new WR. Pierce is a good Deep threat that was underutilized, and while it would nice to have a new CB, Flowers, and Jones competing for the other starting CB spot isn't terrible. Although before everyone freaks out, it's still free agency with good secondary players available and the draft has great options, so this isn't the final roster that will be playing on Sunday in september

I was thinking the same thing, it makes me believe that a trade back is very possible. A couple very good players will probably drop to us at 15 and their are several teams in the low 20s that have very big needs (us included). I could see the Eagles, Steelers, Dolphins or Cowboys wanting to trade up to get a CB, DT, or Bowers, which could give us an extra 2nd/3rd and the maneuverability to be in position to get Worthy or Mitchell. I think we have alot of flexibility in this draft, because I really like the depth on our team.

Its funny that you are talking about assumptions because you are assuming we will be worse next year. Yes AR may be worse than Minshew although from what we saw last year I doubt it, and yes we may win less but we also may win more than last year and we could even make the super bowl. We just don't know because it hasn't happened, so at this point its just point of view. Heck I mean I could see AR winning MVP next year, because the voters tend to like to vote for dual threat QBs that have a strong arm. It's all just guessing right now.

They held McCaffrey to 3.64 yards per carry when in the regular season he was averaging 5.36 yards per carry. The 49ers offense ran through McCaffrey and they took him away as much as you really can, their ability to stop the run won them that super bowl because 49ers weren't able to sustain their run game to run out the clock.

Yes we do need depth at nose tackle do you remember how bad the run defense became with Stewart out. There’s plenty of talent left in FA and if they do go CB in the first then it doesn’t make sense to pay big money for a FA. Safety is an issue but remember week 1 is far off and there’s plenty of time to improve. This team has very good depth, they just need a player here and there.

I would disagree with @2006Coltsbestever, we can be contenders and maybe even reach the Super Bowl. We could also be the worst team in the league, that's just the range of play when you have a young unproven QB like ours. The fact is Anthony Richardson will either make us great or not because it's a QB driven league, the chiefs probably don't even make the playoffs if mahomes is replaced with an average QB. As a Vikings fan you are kind of in the same boat with Cousins gone and looking at a rookie QB or Darnold. As for are we on the right track absolutely, we had a top 10 scoring offense with a backup QB, and if we can improve our deep pass with AR than it could even better next year. The biggest question-mark is defense, but we still have plenty of time of making improvements through FA and the draft and even then they don't have to be top 10, just top 20.
