  1. I mean I expect our defense to be bad regardless of our talent because it's still Bradley calling plays.
  2. They held McCaffrey to 3.64 yards per carry when in the regular season he was averaging 5.36 yards per carry. The 49ers offense ran through McCaffrey and they took him away as much as you really can, their ability to stop the run won them that super bowl because 49ers weren't able to sustain their run game to run out the clock.
  3. I think a lot of people are overvaluing Sneed’s actual ability, I mean he isn’t even top 10
  4. Yes we do need depth at nose tackle do you remember how bad the run defense became with Stewart out. There’s plenty of talent left in FA and if they do go CB in the first then it doesn’t make sense to pay big money for a FA. Safety is an issue but remember week 1 is far off and there’s plenty of time to improve. This team has very good depth, they just need a player here and there.
  5. Came here to see the meltdown lol I’m curious what the contract will look like.
  6. I would disagree with @2006Coltsbestever, we can be contenders and maybe even reach the Super Bowl. We could also be the worst team in the league, that's just the range of play when you have a young unproven QB like ours. The fact is Anthony Richardson will either make us great or not because it's a QB driven league, the chiefs probably don't even make the playoffs if mahomes is replaced with an average QB. As a Vikings fan you are kind of in the same boat with Cousins gone and looking at a rookie QB or Darnold. As for are we on the right track absolutely, we had a top 10 scoring offense with a backup QB, and if we can improve our deep pass with AR than it could even better next year. The biggest question-mark is defense, but we still have plenty of time of making improvements through FA and the draft and even then they don't have to be top 10, just top 20.
  7. Okudah and Henderson were busts for the teams that drafted them though, so it's not like they are great signings
  8. If we don't Bring Blackmon back, I imagine it means they are banking on Cross being the starting SS
  9. Yeah Cross really shouldn’t be playing FS, he’s a SS and nickel, last year he was really an emergency FS. I remember I think Bradley saying that Cross wasn’t getting playing time early because he only practiced at the SS and Nickel position, which Blackmon and Moore were healthy making it hard for him to play.
  10. Like I said FA isn’t over, just because some fans had unrealistic expectations, doesn’t mean we don’t make good FA signings. We talked with Hunter but he decided to go to his home state. The Sneed talk turned out to be not real. The one thing we do know is Ballard usually signs low risk high reward FAs like Gilmore or players that may excel with more snaps like Ebukam, both were very underrated signings. They weren’t big names but were more effective than many big name signings. (Not to mention the steal of Kenny Moore off waivers) Frankly I don’t care about “big” signings because they mostly aren’t worth it and the one thing the Colts do is find hidden gems that play better than there FA contracts.
  11. Not gonna lie, I’m hoping we would go with a pure FS. As I feel they have better coverage instincts vs the type of safety that plays both positions
  12. Everyone acting like Free Agency is over while there are still great players available. Yeah the big names are gone but there are still great players available at positions of need, will we sign them who knows but it’s not like our Front office has been taking the last 2weeks off. I do think Steven Nelson could be a great addition at CB because all he does is sign 1 year deals as depth then steals a starting position. It just screams like a Ballard type of signing. Can you take the is back and forth into a private chat
  13. As for Mike Edwards, I don’t know much about him. Anyone know if he is more of a SS or FS?
  14. I’m really glad to see that we resigned him, Pinter is a fantastic backup Center and while Kelly was pretty healthy this year it’s good to have Pinter as depth.
  15. I really don't get the Denico Autry take that so many people have in this forum, he did alright with the Colts nothing crazy stat-wise, he average 6.6 sacks and just over 10 QB hits per season over his 3 years. Ironically his replacement Muhammed had 6 sacks and 13 hits the year he was replaced, sure Autry did better with the Titans but he was part of a great DL with Landry, Simmons, and a scheme that attacked the QB more efficiently.
  16. Hopefully no matter what the DC doesn't survive because Bradley is a bad play caller that rarely adjusts his defense to the talent on the roster. They were bottom five in points allowed per game, granted they were 5th, so barely bottom 5.
  17. To me it sounds like random twitter people faking inside knowledge and being cryptic, so if anything happens they will say they knew it and were right.
  18. I will say this the Colts are really good at keeping things quiet and preventing leaks. Remember the Buckner trade, it was radio silent until it happened.
  19. I like the idea of being able to challenge penalties, because their seemed to be quite a few bad penalties that affected how games ended this year.
  20. I was thinking this could allow them to go with BPA with their first 1st rounder then use their 2nd one on a QB. If the right person falls they could have the steal of the draft. What do you think @NFLfan
  21. I had the same thought, Sneed is a good CB but he isn't worth top CB money that lockdown man coverage CBs get. My nightmare situation is we give a day 2 or better pick and a 20+ Mil contract. As there are still FA CBs that can be signed for half that price and are arguably just as good, of course Ballard is usually good at contracts.
