Ummm.m.....Eberflus said  Bobby will still see some time at linebacker this week even with Walker and Leonard healthy.  Will b interesting to c when and who he subs for. Also Speed to get more playing time at SAM.  Mayb I wasn't to far off bout Bobby and Speed's upside??  Interesting

    Interesting indeed

  2. I’m not really worried about the running game because the Texans are good at defending it. I think our team should be more like the Pats, meaning we adapt to each teams strength and weaknesses. We did that this week, which is why we got the win.

And yet when he finally got an organization that puts the best talent around him he has ever had in his career he quits not wanting to go through a rehab on an injury that the front office admits was small potatoes compared to what he went through with the shoulder.  I don’t really see the other generational talents listed doing that.  Not Peyton, not Brady, etc.  Luck had his best shot to live up to all that hype and bailed on it.  I’m not giving him elite/generational status for that.

None of the QBs you listed have through what Luck went through. We still don’t have the details surrounding Lucks injury process in 2017, it’s ignorant to act as if you do. Saying “he bailed on it” is absolutely ludicrous, especially for a so called Colts fan. He is human just like anyone else, he deserves compassion and understanding.

Dorsett is having a pretty good year in NE.... Not the worst draft decision of the Grigson years.

Because they utilize him correctly. They didn’t draft a small speedy WR when they needed defense.

Luck’s  career didn’t live up to all that generational draft hype.  He never saw a Super Bowl and was throwing double digit interceptions most seasons.  He was good but not on the level as the other guys on your list when the totality of his career is considered.  Watson has a chance to potentially surpass Luck.  I’d put Russell Wilson on your list before I would Andrew Luck.  Just saying.

That’s because his organization failed him....hard to reach a SB when your GM is trading 1st rounders for Trent Richardson, drafting Philip Dorsetts over Landon Collins and signing zombie Andre Johnsons to big FA deals...even then he dragged those teams to championship games. Blaming their shortcoming on him is like blaming Peyton Manning for his playoff record. It’s a false narrative.

Pagano wasn't really involved.  After the play, you could see him on the sidelines saying "why did he snap it?", so I wouldn't say the responsibility fell on him

The guy snapped it because he never practiced it...why they ran the play with someone who didn’t know not to snap it is behind me.

This play is definitely the worst play in history to me. We were only down 7 against the Pats and we had momentum. This play is ran and the rest of the game goes to %. I never forgave Pagano and Grigson for their time here and plays this are a big reason why.

He was a huge man and standout athlete who started playing football in his 20s. He was 26 when he got drafted, so having a low ceiling is part of it, I think.

But he's also 6'8", and was originally projected as a DE. He's not good enough on the edge to rush the passer, but he's not a super powerful DL either, so moving him inside only worked because he had some ability to 1-gap and be disruptive. But with his height, it's hard to maintain leverage, and still penetrate, so his effectiveness inside is also limited.

Long story short, he's a tweener who's probably at his best in sub packages, but he's not gonna be anything more than that. And if he's one of your four best DL, you probably need to get better.

    Ah, gotcha.

I liked Jihad Ward a lot, but it seems as if his ceiling was limited too. I have faith that Ballard will improve the DL, I felt as if we had some potential with the players we have. They just aren’t panning out. Would you care to summarize your thoughts about our current DTs?

  8. Historically Hilton has trashed the Texans, I don’t see that stopping this season.

I am, however, curious which Ebron will show up. He’s proven that he can be a very dangerous WR when he catches the damn ball. Jack Doyle is cool but he has no moves. None. Zero. He makes the catch but don’t count on him for any YAC.

He spent four years as a JAG with Cincy, and while he had a few good games for us, he was never expected to be a difference maker. Moving him to NT last year was a good change, but we can do a lot better than him in the middle.

Is it his technique? Is he just not strong enough to take on NFL lineman?
