  1. Bro, your wasting your breath on that guy. For whatever reason, he just doesn't get it. He won't. He hasn't with anyone that actually tries to make reasonable sense of this. You are on point with everything you've been stating.
  2. For fun let's throw some stuff out there and see what sticks I'm going to say that it would take either All top end picks or a combo of players and picks I would offer 2024 1st, 2025 1st, 2024 3rd, and Kwitty Paye. I would want back, Justin and a 2024 4th
  3. It's all subjective here. I have really good friends who are Phins fans and they told me Davis was meh. It really comes down to what you expect out of him and Davis is really nothing more than a space eater. To this, it just seemed like you could get this type of guy in the later draft rounds and use the 7 mil elsewhere. That's pretty much the gist of it
  4. This is what I truly believe a lot of forum members do not understand when people like me criticize Ballard's moves. I just normally do not go into insightful detail as most times I'm under the impression that the casual fan is smart enough to see where the majority of the NFL landscape lies and relate it to where our team falls in player acquisition and where the money is going based on position. The bolded is the absolute fact here and I couldn't agree with you more. Ballard has allocated resources, i.e. money for the laymen, into positions that do not lay atop the current landscape and when he does, most recent case of Davis, it's on a player that clearly has underperformed past his rook year for whatever reason. I mean at this point based on this signing, would any of us not be surprised if Ballard signed Chase Young to a contract that clearly would over exceed or fall into head scratching territory over his current earning value based on production? Very similar player to Davis as far as career trajectory at this stage. I keep hoping for a switch to flip but I think I'm truly over this Ballard experiment. It stinks because I like the guy when he talks and stuff but if these moves are not clearly on Ballard as some suggest he listens to his scouts and such then he needs to get new scouts and/or stop listening to them
  5. Dionte Johnson is better than Pierce or any 6th rounder we could draft. Nuff said
  6. I think the reason why the Colts are not signing any FAs outside of our own is NOT because of Ballard. I sincerely think the players just don't want to come here and I truly believe it is due to the fact that the Colts have zero daycare and are terrible with accommodating dietary issues...
  7. Yea. Thank God that hasn't been happening for the last 6 years. Glad the Colts see that changing it up now and then and is a good thing.
  8. If what the article regarding the Colts trying to still acquire Snead then this tells me the Colts really do not want to use that 2 on Snead. I say this because I would guess the Colts would need that 2 plus pick 15 to move up to grab the WR or TE. If Snead comes to Indy, Corner Back is not the play at 15 and without that 2, the Colts would be hard pressed to find enough picks to move up. Pure speculation of course but it kind of would make sense. Especially if moving up would warrant pick 15, our 2024 second, and a 2025 first rounder, the Colts would most assuredly want whoever we trade With's 2024 second in return.
  9. I respectfully disagree. The QB ONLY excuse is getting old here. QB is one issue we have had yes, but not the only issue and any team or fan completely thinking that we are just a QB away is dumb. It's a lot more than that. My real point is that when Ballard spent money and gave up assets for Buck it worked out as Buck was a top tier player. He needs to do more of this more consistently. I have never advocated to spend up all our money on every FA every offseason but using last year as an example, a kicker is needed but not necessarily where the root of the money should go. He needs to spend more on proven talent but also at the correct positions and the top positions outside of QB in the NFL today are WR, CB, and Edge Rusher. Is it a coincidence that those three areas are what we desperately need the most results from and subsequently are the same positions that we always ?
  10. Good Morning. What is it with your certain group of guys and girls on here? There should not be one fan who, currently, should like this organization's philosophy of running things. It really has been a mediocre result. < This is the issue. A middle of the pack team. Most of the high-end players get gobbled up on the 1st day of legal tampering. Do they get overpaid? Yes. Is that the norm? Yes. Yet most on here keep stating the same thing. "I would never pay that or sacrifice that". News flash. The Colts brass obviously feels the same way. Unfortunately, the only thing to show from this is a middle of the pack team. At some point, that insanity you speak of needs to be projected onto the front office way of doing things and not on the fans who are getting restless. If the Colts way of doing things were showing a high ratio of results, I personally would not be constantly nitpicking every move at this time of year or at any other time of year either. So far, they have spent their money on players that have been part of that middle of the pack team. I just do not see how keeping and focusing on middle of the pack players and surrounding them with other middle of the pack FA's and unproven rookies will ever get this team out of the middle for a consistent duration of time. It has not happened albeit one year with Rivers out of 6 or 7. That ratio is not good regardless of whatever reason you lay at its feet. The one constant though is middle of the pack FAs in the majority. -Peace
  11. If the price is right sometimes it could be strategic. Backup this year, possibly needed if QB is glass again, trade value next year or at deadline who knows. There is value there either way
  12. Dude come on? I mean, keep some of our guys sure but actually go and get some real difference makers. PAY THEM How many people on here been complaining about needing a safety. OK, why isn't McKinney a Colt? I mean I'm not saying that should've been done but go get some REAL talent at positions we need upgrades at. Signing our own guys is not going to cut it because these players are not good enough to get this team over the top and that's not an opinion that's based on the results we have witnessed for a long time now. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying...
  13. I'm sorry. I'm going to be me and throw in my hat piggy backing off what an article at stampede blue seems to reiterate. When are we Colts' fans going to realize that keeping OUR OWN doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing. Did the Colts get any better so far today or have they stayed the same mediocre team everyone seems to be content with? As I stated above, this team and its current players who we have resigned today did not and have not won the division or a playoff game in eons now. What makes any one of you think that it's going to magically happen this year and if you tell me because AR might play more games next year, you really have zero clue here in its obvious conclusion. This approach is laughable.
  14. I agree. It's like let's keep the band together that didn't win, can't seem to win the division or make the playoffs... It's absurd.
  15. Then we both agree at the same time. The bolded is my take. The reason I gave you merit is the scenario you stated holds merit but not for the Colts. No way would the Colts want him for 1 year nor should they. I'm not sure what my "history" means and why a shot at me is warranted here. Johnson, to me, is a WR1 and could be the piece the Colts have been needing.
  16. Depth at receiver? How about who cares? How about we start having the mindset to go get PROVEN talent mixed in with developmental players. If you all want this delayed gratification stuff to stop, you have to physically stop it
