  1. That is not that long ago, take Lynch off the Seahawks and Russell Wilson is an after thought. Lynch was by far their best player.
  2. To add insult to injury, Josh Scobee played like Justin Tucker on steroids vs us as well during a long stretch of games over that time frame.
  3. When Johnson was there the Titans weren't any good except his rookie season in 2008. In 2009 when he had his 2000 yard season they were only 8-8. They never had the team to be a threat vs us except in 2008 when Johnson was there. Fred Taylor and MJD were a pain in the rear a lot though in different seasons vs us. We could have realistically went 15-1 in 2006 the year we won the SB as we only got beat 1 time soundly and that was against the Jags. Taylor and Drew ran all over us. Both had over 100 yards against us in the game at Jacks. The other 3 games we lost that season were by a total of 9 points but the Jags took our rear to the cleaners on that 1 day.
  4. It seems fair but put yourself in Taylor's shoes. Taylor I am sure is going to be like, McCaffrey got 64 Mill over 4 years = 16 Mill a year. He also got 38 Mill guaranteed and plays the same position. Although I get McCaffrey is a better pass catcher but still Taylor could say I led the league in rushing yards and rushing TD's in 2021, McCaffrey has never done either. That is why I don't think Taylor asking for 14 Mill over 3 years at 42 Mill, with 25 Mill guaranteed is that outrageous. I put what I put in BOLD because I already know someone will say, pass catching
  5. That means there is no reason to at least give JT a 3 year deal worth around 42 Mill or so, he is only 24. That is 14 Mill a year and give him like 25 Mill guaranteed. We can afford to do that having a QB that is under a rookie contract. JT is our best player as well.
  6. If the Giants start 0-2 they may cave in. I know it was a different time but I remember when Emmitt Smith held out in 1993 and Jerry was acting like it was no big deal, like they would win anyway. After all they were the Champs, had a great O.Line, had Troy and Michael, and a great defense. He was thinking he could put anyone behind that line at RB with the overall team he had, he was sadly mistaken. Dallas looked awful without Emmitt and started 0-2. Jerry then made Emmitt the highest paid RB in the league and the rest was history.
  7. Really my main point is, Barkley is the Giants best player and Taylor is ours. If the Giants don't want to sign him and we don't sign Taylor than that is their and our loss. If Barkley sits, they will be lucky to win 7 games. Remember I posted this. Take Lynch off the Seahawks, Wilson has 0 SB wins.
  8. Emmitt Smith = 3 times (92, 93, 95), Terrell Davis = twice (97, 98). You can say that was the 90's. I can say ok, Marshawn Lynch then in 2013 and he was a hair away in 2014 from winning another. That was just 10 years ago.
  9. The market is a funny thing. McCaffrey is making 16 Mill but he is the best Pass catching back in the league. Barkley and Taylor are better pure runners IMO and can catch if used right. I can see those 2 taking it as an insult if they aren't at least paid 13-14 Mill a year over at least 3 years. They are the focal points of their teams offense is another reason why.
  10. At least to me, most recent history wise, the 1998 Yankees are the greatest team I have ever seen. Not sure how one would define recent history though. I go back to the late 70's as being able to remember most teams, games, and players. It is strange in a way for many people as in when asked, what they first remember in life regarding things? Baseball wise, first thing I remember is when the Pirates won the WS in 1979, I do remember watching that series. Football wise it was when the Cowboys beat the Broncos = the 1977 season/1978 game but vague. Basketball, I vaguely remember the 1977 NBA Finals between the Blazers and Sixers. 1977, players like Kareem, Dr J, and Walton were king of the hill. I was lucky enough to see one of the greatest SB's ever played between the Cowboys vs the Steelers on TV that I fully remember in the 1978 season/79 game. That game alone made me fall in love with football. Those teams were loaded.
  11. I think they split. They usually do no matter who is bad or good.
  12. My 2 cents but I thought he looked ok, borderline good. Hard to tell from a short video though. 2 biggest questions through camp will be, who will be our starting QB to start the season, AR or Mustache? Will Leonard be ready for opening day?
  13. I agree. It is just basic football 101 to understand that concept. Imagine if Lamar would have had a JT type in 2019 and 2020? Ravens may have won a SB in one of those 2 years. Andrews is always open for easy 10 yard gainers on the pass just because of Lamar alone.
  14. We all knew the Pirates would finish last, they usually do but it would not surprise me if the Cards even finished ahead of the Cubs. Cards have always been a team that gets hot in late July and August. Remember I had the Cards winning the NL Central before the season started. Cubs are about where I had them projected, I had them at 81-81 = .500 team before the season but even posted they could finish as bad 76-86 or with a ton of breaks and surprises could go 86-76. I just chose the middle. I had the Jays vs Padres in the WS before the season started, Padres have been the most disappointing team in baseball. My Jays still could make a run in the AL. Braves at 61-32 look unbeatable. Acuna is running away with the NL MVP.
  15. Yep I was about to post, I could see AR having 100 Rushing attempts and JT still having 300. I don't think AR running a lot will have much affect on JT's impact. If anything our run game could become pretty lethal with those 2 and open up the pass.
  16. I would prefer RB by committee, as long as the RB's are good but in order to do that we need a top 10 QB in the league to be a scary threat. Nobody knows if AR will reach that? He may or may not. With the way our team is built we need Taylor and need Taylor to play like he did in 2021 or close to it to contend, JMO. It is not a RB's league I understand that but if your QB isn't top 10, having a dominant RB really helps. These QB's can get away with RB by committee = Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Hurts, Rodgers - still, Lawrence, Herbert, Jackson, Watson if healthy, maybe Dak and that is about it. I just named 10. The other QB's in the league pretty much need a dominant RB to take a lot of the load off. I seriously have my doubts about the Vikings this year for example because Cook is no longer there. I think Cousins is good at times but without Cook there, it will be interesting. Having Jefferson at WR may keep that team above .500. I am almost sure if Barkley sits out that Jones won't have near the year he had last year and the Giants will miss the playoffs. The 49ers will stay afloat because of McCaffrey as long as their QB play is above average.
  17. Cubs are still hanging on by a thread at 44-50 in 3rd place, 7.5 games back of the Brewers in the NL Central. Cubs got a much needed win last night over the Nats but the inconsistent play still has continued with the Cubs. One thing I would have never thought before the season is, the Cubs having the same record as the Padres and Mets through 94 games (44-50). Padres and Mets were expected to do huge things before the season. Regarding the Cards they have now won 4 in a row, they might be waking up a little? They are still only 42-53 but now in 4th place. What is wrong with the Yankees? They are playing terrible right now. @Jared Cisneros, Braves are the best team in baseball right now
  18. He makes 16 Mill a year. Not sure that Barkley or Taylor have ever said they wanted 16 Mill. Barkley just didn't want to be franchised tagged at 10 Mill, I don't blame him. Every team is different. We are talking about the Giants, if it was a team like the Chiefs, Eagles, Bengals, Bills, or Jets now with Aaron for example, they can all go RB by committee with no problem because those teams have a top 5 QB. They wouldn't have to pay a top RB. Reason why Edge was expendable after 2005 and we could go RB by committee with Rhodes and Addai is because Peyton was the best QB in the league.
  19. ESPN and sports talk radio is posing the question, were the Giants right at not offering Barkley a long term deal? That isn't even the problem and shouldn't even be the question unless Barkley wanted like a 5 year deal. Barkley just turned 26 years old, offering him a 3 year deal for 14 Million a year = 42 million isn't a long term deal and that would have took him through his peak prime years. I seriously doubt Barkley would have turned that down especially if he was guaranteed half that money = 21 Mill. It is smart to go RB by committee but only if you have a top 10 QB in the league, Jones is not a top 10 QB in the league. I am not even sure he is top 15. Giants are a run first offense and Barkley is their best player, I hope he sits out all year to prove a point. I say that because if sits out the Giants will be lucky to win 7 games. Colts are also a run first offense, offering JT a 3 year deal for 14 million a year = 42 with half that guaranteed = (21 Mill) should be done if JT goes for it. I am not sure why he would not. JT is only 24 years old and 3 years isn't a long term deal on any level when a RB is 26 years old or younger.
  20. Henry has a point, so does Taylor with their tweets. They are outliers at the RB position is why. Those 2 and guys like McCaffrey, Barkley are tough to find that are that great. If Barkley decides to sit out, you can kiss the Giants season good bye imo. Giants are making a huge mistake considering Barkley's age.
  21. Great list, can't believe the Cubs just beat the Yankees 2 of 3 in NY. Cubs are pretty much average this season which I have accepted. They have been fun to watch at times this season with some newer players. We are just 42-47 at the all-star break but only 7 games out in the NL Central behind the surprising Reds. Season is still salvageable but barely.
  22. That is what I am saying regarding your first sentence. Backs like Frank Gore and Curtis Martin carried teams for years. If those 2 could do it, I know Emmitt could. Those type of backs have the durability and toughness to do it for a long time. By the way OJ carried the Bills not the Rams
  23. Yeah those UMPS stunk the whole series. Cubs did beat the Yankees tonight. We just barely keep hanging around for a possible playoff spot. We are 7 games back of the Reds and in 3rd place regarding the NL Central. If we can get that down to 3 or 4 games heading into August, we have a punchers chance at winning the Division.
