Hurricane Irma might be one of the scariest looking things I have ever seen. I almost am afraid to turn on the news at times. This thing never seems to die and has been a literal monster. Best wishes to anyone in the path coming up in and around Florida. But it does sound like all safety precautions are being taken ahead of time.
Also I am sad beyond belief at the poor Caribbean islands and how pummeled they got. They have little means to fix things. I have been to the island of St. Martin in the past a while back and it is completely devastated I read and seen right now. It's completely down and they are going insane there with so much isolation from the rest of the world and no clean water and electricity.. And those are some of the nicest people I had ever met before too in the past when I been there, it is called "the Happy Island". I don't know how they can recover from this. Those islands had to recover from Hurricane Luis that ruined them back in the mid 90's and finally did in the 2000's........and they thrive there on tourism to survive economically. Hurricane Luis was a category 4 and Irma hit them at a full force category 5 with winds beyond imaginable.
Just mind boggling. I can't get over this hurricane season. From Harvey to Irma to even Jose now lingering in the background as a category 4 but Jose is not expected to hit the States.
I just hope it all stops soon.

Look what I found this morning - Roger Staubach's hail mary game vs the Vikings with the actual drive.
Amazing how many times this drive nearly kills them...The low snaps, and one of them is even fumbled, and Staubach has to run around under pressure.
The 4th and 17 play is amazing, and then right after, BOOM hail mary to Drew Pearson.
Dallas almost upset the Steelers in the SB a few weeks later....Of all the Steelers SB's, it's the first one against Dallas that is usually regarded as the best...This wildcard Dallas team was such big underdogs, and almost upset the Steelers. Amazing team.

Wow, the Saints defense has looked good for two preseason games...I almost want to get excited now.

Well someone has to win it all. And your odds are better to pick a team with a good QB on it. I don't want to pick the 40 year old with too much plastic surgery to win it all. I am hesitant at times on Big fat Ben. I am hesitant on most of the NFC too.
By default we know the Packers win the division and no the Vikings are not winning the North, Jesus Christ........
The SB is in Minnesota and nothing would pain the Vikings fans more then to see the Packers maybe be there to win it. Or the Saints. But I am not ready to crown the Saints just yet.
I could see a Packers/Steelers rematch too.

Too tough to pick the Colts right now. Too many question marks lingering. If we somehow win week 1 and Luck can come back healthy then we have a shot. But right now I will be real and say this season I wasn't expecting much from the Colts, at all.......I thought this would be a rebuilding season.
I don't feel urgency either for the Colts, it's not like Luck or anyone we have is retiring in a year or two. The only sense of urgency will be for Pagano whose job might be on the line so maybe there is more urgency then I think.
Titans are being massively over hyped.
QuoteI am not getting suckered into picking Green Bay again,
Most won't, outside of Vegas odds.
So GB has a legit shot this year. Most are crapping on them.

I am picking the Patriots over Cowboys in the SB - Tom gets #6. If the Pats lose Gronk though, they wont Repeat because of the fact they don't have Edelman either. This has been 2006's predictions! Thank you ladies and gentleman.
Oh you already know Gronk won't stay in one piece for every single game. If he does they must have given him a new back via surgery or they got steroids in him.
I like Green Bay, Pittsburgh and maybe *gasp* the Saints and Texans this year? Hard to say......
I have flirted with the Giants too as a dark horse for months too in case the Cowboys falter.
And lets face it, Cowboys always get hosed for Green Bay.

Houston gets an emotional ride this year due to Harvey? Could it happen? I am just saying, this hurricane is BAD. It's really bad, it hit one of the most populated cities in America.......I won't be shocked if Houston either falls apart or they go on some big ride emotionally.
This isn't to belittle the hurricane with sports either and you know this too since you suffered with Katrina. But I am saying that with a huge huge devastating event like this, it can either lift a team or make them fall apart.
The Houston defense is already a monster when healthy, it's just the offense that has question marks. I am hesitant to pick the Colts over them until we beat them again. And we don't know about Luck yet.
I am hesitant to get overly high on the Colts vs. Steelers. It was a positive sign to see us perform well, but I have to wonder how seriously Pittsburgh was taking that game too. But by all means we should beat the Rams week 1 and if we don't then we are in SERIOUS trouble. To me all this game meant was maybe we can get it together to beat the teams we SHOULD beat.
For me and the Colts, a lot rides on week 1.
With the Saints, I do like their chances and it's not a jinx thing since I don't think you can jinx the Saints who have had some of the worst defenses in history anyway. I am a firm believer that the pendulum swings both ways so it is POSSIBLE the Saints D was all the way to dreadful defensively but now can swing to GOOD defensively.
Injuries for both SB teams will be ones to watch. Atlanta already lose a starter on defense due to suspension and if they do repeat as division winners IMO they mimic the 2010 Colts who were battered all season on offense.
For the Patriots, injuries already started. I know Hogan or Cooks can fill in for Edleman but this is a huge HUGE injury.........and makes the league probably want to shorten preseason like they did change rules for QBs after Brady tore his ACL.
Losing Edleman is HUGE. HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE. It may not hurt the Pats as much NOW, but later in a big game those clutch circus catches will be sorely missed. He was there for the last two Pats SB wins. This is Brady's right hand man.
I have already been on record saying I didn't think the Pats repeat, if they made it back it's possible the NFC team beats them.
There are going to be some shockers this year in the NFL.......one might even be the Saints.
The only safe pick is still going to be Green Bay. And let me tell you, if they get homefield do not laugh at the idea of them later on. Since some time eventually they might not melt down in a big game and might be due again with the Rodgers effect.
