To accumulate comp picks.
-
Texans got a good deal on Allen. 4 yrs/ 28mil 14 mil in the 1st year. They first reported 4 yrs/ 14 mil and I about lost it.
-
Good signing for them. He was my favorite G on the market.
-
-
Houston is reforming their offense. If they can get their offense clicking like their defense they are going to be hard to beat.
-
I am going to wait and see who Denver brings in before I comment. I am also not sure that a QB with 7 career starts was their answer either. I guess the Texans will find out on that one.
-
Well I am glad they brought Ted with. I trust his LB coaching pedigree to bring the right guys in. I doubt the Ragland workout was much more than kicking the tires. This is going to get way overblown by many posters.
That said I hope Ragland is not our 1st rounder.

Hoyer is most likely released which puts another backup QB on the market.
-
And the South just became much more interesting. New running backs for the Titans, Jags, and Texans. New QB in Houston. Jags overhauling their defense. Indy standing pat at the moment.
-
Might want to add Joe Dahl to that list.
-
Looks like we might have another good running back in the AFC South.

Jags are in the lead for everybody lol
Unfortunately yes. They have already made two moves, and still have more money than any other team.
-
He has technically always been on the market as teams could offer him a contract, Miami just had a right to match to offer. The reason Miami is taking the tag off is so they can receive a comp pick because they pretty much know they have already been outbid. Pretty sure that the Jags are in the lead for him.
-
It wouldn't be my favorite move, but he had a lot of talent stacked in front of him in Baltimore. Maybe with more playing time he could develop even further. We have to be making moves at OLB because we are getting too thin.

Prince Amukamara 5yrs/42.5

Jaye Howard (although i wish it would be Danny Trevathan, not holding my breath)
Jaye Howard would be a great signing. Very underrated player.

Man that contract just made Fletcher Cox smile. Free Agent DTs next year are going to be making some major money.
-
A very nice option to upgrade our RG position. There is starting to be a nice pool of good guards in free agency. Hopefully that pushes their prices down a little.
-
I am sorry, but I am pretty sure you are going to be pretty disappointed after free agency and the draft.
Jenkins and Osemele are going to get more than that. The Ravens pretty much offered 10 mil and year and was declined. The Rams offered almost the same contract as you have listed and was told they were low balling Jenkins.

fleener to the steelers or patriots
I doubt the Pats want to spend 10 mil on one TE and 8 mil on another TE.
-
Looks like we paid about what other teams were willing to pay for him. If anything we got a little bit of a discount.
-
I am curious if there are incentives in this contract. I am looking forward to seeing how this contract is laid out.
-
This is a very good signing. We overpaid, but many TEs are getting overpaid with the cap increase. Allen was arguably the best TE on the market so he was going to get paid. I think Chud's offense will get him back into a main facet of our offense.
I believe that Chud's opinion on what TE he wanted of the two weighed heavily in this decision.

Howie Roseman is doing a good job of getting rid of a lot of terrible contracts. The Eagles are going to look like 2015 free agency never even happened.
