  1. Tyler Higbee is the best TE in this years draft by a margin.

Drafting offensive line early in this draft if unnecessary based on our needs IMO. This is the first draft in a while that contains a plethora of interior linemen talent. There are several centers and guards that could become great players in the league in the mid rounds.

Karl Joseph is going to be the best ball hawking safety since Earl Thomas.

Kamalei Correa is going to be the best pass rusher to come out of this draft class IF he plays OLB in a 3-4.

Jonathan Williams should be the 2nd RB taken in this draft class. If he was not injured he would be in the discussion for the #1 running back in this draft class with Elliot.

This is interesting:  Ben Watson signed with Baltimore at 2 years, 3.5 per - HALF of the annual salary Fleener got - the Saints could have re-signed Watson but broke the bank for Fleener instead - interesting!

I wonder if the Saints made a similar offer to Allen that was turned down by Allen.

Ben Watson is also 35 years old, and is close to finishing out his career. They opened the checkbook for Fleener because of the age IMO.

HMM, I could've sworn Irving was like 30 last year lol, also was thinking there was something other than the ACL tear, but I guess I don't know anything...

Wasn't Sio a rotational player in OAK?

It's all good we all make mistakes. I'm guilty of it myself sometimes.

No Sio was a good starter in Oakland. He got hurt towards the end of the 2014 season in which Oakland drafted Ben Heeney, and changed coaching staffs. After Jack Del Rio took over Sio fell out of favor while recovering from his injury and they chose Heeney to take over. That is why they eventually traded him to us. Many Raiders fans thought that Sio was a key part of their defense along with Mack. The Raiders trading him to us for a 6th made a lot of Raiders fans very mad. I think he has the potential to be a very good linebacker in our system especially blitzing and in coverage.

I like it, and it seems like the most realistic one they've mocked so far for us. Not big on the WR but kinda looks like a Moncreif clone. I'd rather pick a WR in the 6th or an UDFA since we only have 4 WR including Bray

Agreed. I like Ricardo Louis, but not in round 4 for us. Cody Core in round 7 would be a great WR to look at. We have way too many holes, and need to retool a defense and offensive line with our top picks.

Fuller is the best cover corner in the draft. Look at his tape during his sophomore year, no one could throw on him. He would be better then Ramsey imo if he didn't get hurt. Well I saw mcCalister ranked as high as three to as low as 5 so that's where I placed him

Did you see him play this last year before he got hurt? He was consistently burned, and failed on several occasions to jam a receiver at the LOS. I agree during his Sophomore year was filled with production. This last year showed that he is very susceptible to double moves, and speedy receivers. I believe you have to balance the two years out to get an idea of what type of player you are drafting. You can't base opinion on a highly productive Sophomore season, but ignore bad games this previous year.

Bottom line Fuller is not a 1st round corner IMO.

Or Coby could be running his mouth. There are people at every job in the planet that run their mouth and complain. Guarentee their are former Patriots, Broncos, Steelers, Packers, etc...that have grievances as well.

There are definitely players with grievances with their former teams. Ask Malik Jackson if he has a grievance with the Broncos. He believes that they should of kept him, Osweiler, and Trevathan.

  7. I am not a fan of Fuller especially in our press man scheme. I believe that Fuller is a zone corner as he has tight hips and lacks ability to jam and reroute the WR at the line of scrimmage. The Ifedi pick is fine, but I believe there will be better options at that pick. McCalister is a good player, but a 3rd round pick is way too early. Big fan of the Lasco pick as he is a very underrated running back would would fit our system perfectly. McKinzy is fine in the 5th. Nice research and digging up the Maggitt pick I have never heard of him, but sounds like someone I should watch some tape on.

I'd be happy with Curus Jones in the 4th.

Yeah Cyrus Jones has talent, but needs to continue to be coached up. I don't know how effective he can be outside, but I think he could become a dominant slot corner. His footwork is among some of the best in the class IMO.

Mike Mayock loves him I believe he is Mayock's 4th ranked corner. I don't know if I would put him that high, but Jones in the 4th round wouldn't be a bad pick IMO.

I was referring to Josh Freeman, but yes, Jerrell Freeman is a FA, and negotiations are not going well.  Seems like the Bears are favorites to land him!

Sio Moore is a great rotational player and awesome backup, but IDK if he is starter material.  Perhaps with a little working on!  Nate Irvin is old and injury prone.  Although he is talented, I don't know if he could be a starter just for the 2 previous reasons.  He probably wouldn't last very long...  Great rotational/ fill-in guy though!  DQ, looks like he is our only set in stone starter on the ILB position.  Herreara could be good with some development, but I don't he's good enough to make a big difference next year.  Not sure who Ed Jackson is.  I believe the LB Jackson we drafted last year was cut somewhere along the lines.  Also, not sure about Obiora.  I think we will draft a pass rusher LOLB round1, but we will still need another ILB, unless Sio is up to it.  In that case we still need reliable depth.

Irving is only 27 so I don't know where you think he is old. During his NFL career he has played in 15 of 16 games per year except for the year he tore his ACL with the Broncos and came back late this year due to the recovery. I don't see how he is injury prone due to one ACL tear during his NFL career. Sio and Irving have solid starting experience and have played well in their starting roles respectively. I think either one would be a solid starter next to Jackson and the other would be great depth.

I'm not a big fan of Ogbah's, although I know there's quite a few people on this forum that love him. To me, he may be strong and fast, but he lacks hip flexibility and can't bend the edge. His 3 cone drill shows what I see on tape, a stiff pass rusher that relies on his power to get pressure and often plays with poor technique (often stepping with the wrong foot out of his stance, attacking an OL with his outside arm instead of his inside arm, exposing his chest). I see him very similar to Quintin Coples. Strong and explosive, but no bend.

This quote from an NFC scout sums him up well:

"He's stiff and upright so he has no counters as a rusher, and then he doesn't even play hard all the time. If you are going to be the hulk, then play hard all the time."

That is a very nice write up and comparison. I couldn't agree more with this post.

    we didnt get any?

We will next year if we continue not to sign high priced free agents this offseason. Remember these comp picks are based off of last years signings. We signed more high priced free agents than we lost last year therefore we didn't get any.
