Too old?  He's 28 the same age as Luck and TY.   He's not young but he's not old.  He should have a lot of good years ahead of him.  I think he would be a great addition and a fill a major hole.

What I'm trying to say is that acquiring Ansah wouldn't and shouldn't preclude Ballard from drafting an edge rusher early in the draft.

I thought it was interesting that he said the Colts could go in several directions but adding Chubb would address a need without them having to reach to do so.  In Ballard's interview at the Senior Bowl he said he likes to use FA to address holes so they don't feel the need to reach in the draft.  The rumors about the Colts pursuing Ansah hard in FA would eliminate the hole we have at ER and would allow Ballard to take the BPA(Barkley) at 3 instead of the Browns taking him at 4 which is what he's currently mocking.  If Ansah hits FA I think we're going after him HARD.

Ansah is too old. We would still need another young Edge Rusher. He would be a nice player to have though.

Do you have any idea how often you write stuff like that?    Way more than I think you even know.

And often when you write your....   unique views of the football world, posters here have no idea WHAT you're saying, or WHY you're saying it...    your posts often generate more questions than answers....

It's not just me...   Look at the thread, I'm not alone...    perhaps tweaking your approach would be warranted?

    Just food for thought.....

Your comments are infinitely more annoying than anything BBZ has ever posted...

Depends on his frame. If he doesn’t show up to the combine at at least 230 then it could mean he’s maxed out his frame. But I’d like to see if he can put on weight before the draft. That’s what Leonard Floyd did.

I don't think he's gonna get much bigger. Might bulk up to 225 for the combine. It doesn't seem to be a hindrance against the run. Skai can slip/shed blocks very well and has enough strength to bring SEC backs down consistently.

I don't think calling them injury prone is fair.

Geathers has been out a while for a massive hit he laid out during the Titans game last year (to win the game on a fourth down stop) and you cannot mess with the neck and so I think he will be solid in the lineup once fully recovered, and Hookers injury looked a sore one and I am sure he mentioned it was only the second time he had missed games through injury in his football career (cant recall the exact quote but something along those lines).

Agree we need more depth though just in case.

Geathers has had other injury issues besides his neck and Hooker was injured quite a bit at OSU which is why he never saw the field until last season. And he need surgery after that lone season haha

Difference is Luck usually doesn't screw up at the end of games with a bad mistake. He usually finds a way to come back. He makes his mistakes early in the game mostly.

Luck turns the ball over early, middle, and late...

If we can have Hooker and Geathers on the field together next season while bringing in TJ Green for special packages, we might find a spot for him on this defense.

He's pretty darn fast. Maybe bring him in on some Blitz packages.

That's a big if. Geathers and Hooker are both injury prone. We need to draft/sign a bunch of secondary players this offseason

Jacoby Brissett has NOT shown more than Jimmy G.     No where near close.

     McCarron you can debate.

But JG is the most valuable of the three by far.     The football world was pretty stunned that Cleveland would offer a 2 and a 3 for AJM.    He hasn't shown that much.     Note there no talk of another team in the bidding...

I guess time will tell but I'd much rather have Brissett. He was put in almost the worst situation possible and has performed admirably.

Great post.    Perfectly stated.     The Browns were prepared to give up more for McCarron than the 49ers paid to acquire

    Garoppolo.    Bizarre.    Very Browns-like.

I'd guess Brissett is currently worth no more than a 3 and more likely a 4.. could that change over the remainder of the season?    Sure...   but I wouldn't think by much.

Garoppolo is an unrestricted free agent after this season. That lowers his trade value considerably. Whoever traded for him would either have to sign him in the offseason or franchise tag him, which are both expensive options.

McCarron is a restricted free agent after this season so a team trading for him would have more control over his future.

That's how it was explained to me and I think that makes sense. IMO Jacoby Brissett has shown more promise than either of those guys and is worth a 2nd no question.

Yes. If Clayton doesn't come back 100% or gets injured again. James is a defensive playmaker. Teamed with Hooker, and we'd have a combo comparable to Chancellor and Thomas in Seattle.

James hasn't done anything this season. He had a great freshman season but hasn't done much since. Injury prone, overhyped player... I'll pass.

Fitzpatrick is a much better pick if you want a Safety. IMO

He was looking really good even before his explosion against Ohio State.   I agree that he is looking like the best corner in the draft right now.  I've heard Iowa players rarely declare early though.

Iowa is the best team in the country at developing players. It's incredible

Saw his name pop in the Walter Football’s positional rankings and was curious. He’s a top 10 ranked ILB on their site. What are some games to watch?

I don't know what Draft Breakdown has on him but if you can find it the NC State game from 2015 really optimizes his game. Two interceptions in the end zone.
