The Giants are in an excellent position to succeed right now. They have weapons everywhere on that offense, a solid defense that has a chance to be great, and Eli, a SB winning QB.

Anyone else notice how much more comfortable he looks carrying with his left hanf versus his right?
On outside runs to the right side of the field, he has that tendency to still carry with his left. Poor habit they will have to coach out of him.
Otherwise, great pick. Smooth runner, takes hits, gives them out as well. Good agility and quickness.
Reminds of a young Arian Foster. Not as quick laterally but similar running style.
Arian Foster is who I thought of as well. Upright running style but has active feet and is excellent at using subtle movements to shake defenders.

Ballard was pretty clear in the press conference that he's projecting Smith at right guard...
The Colt's interior line should be set for many years. The "Big 3" can be re-signed in a cap-friendly way in successive years:
Kelly re-signed in 3 years...Smith re-signed in 4 years.... Nelson re-signed in 5 years.....
How great is it to have the best interior O-line in the NFL for the next 7 years !
That's quite the projection there. Two of the guys haven't played a single snap in the NFL and one is injury prone and has dealt with concussions. There's plenty of hope and reason for optimism but let's temper expectations a tad.

JT Barrett would be useful in replicating Watson and Mariotas mobility and running ability. Could help the defense prepare for those guys.

Most teams carry two kickers during camp.
There have to be quite a few teams that would give him a much better chance to compete for the spot though.

Why do kickers sign with us every year? They're never going to Vinnys spot

Skai Moore is worth a look too. Outstanding production and instincts but is undersized and not a tremendous athlete.

I think JC Jackson is a great fit in our scheme, and Matthew Thomas is an underrated linebacker who has a good amount of speed and potential. I'd like these two specifically.
I forgot about Tolliver. I think he'd fit in perfectly with what we're doing on defense. His NFL comparison on NFL.com is Quincy Wilson fwiw

Quite a bit of talent still left. Who would y'all like us to add after the draft?
Tegray Scales
Bo Scarborough
Simmie Cobbs Jr.

Just how do you know a 7th rounder is worthless? Some of the best players in the league come out of late rounds.
Being negative before the pick is even made just shows you are just a negative person.
I'd much rather give Anderson a shot over anyone available in the 7th. If that's being negative then so be it

Henry Anderson doesn't fit this system. He's quick enough to be a 4-3 end and he's not big enough to be a DT. He needs to be in a 3-4.
I'd at least give him a shot. We have absolutely nothing on defense right now. A 7th is worthless

Wow I didn't see that coming either I knew we had a lot of DEs but I really liked Anderson
Ballard has lost a lot of the faith I had in him with this move.

Not sure about this one. How many RBs do you need? Would much rather draft a LB, CB, WR or if you want to go RB I'd go with a big guy like Bo Scarborough

We moved up for a kicker? Anyone know this kicker from Auburn? Hope it does not turn out like Aguayo.
He's an amazing kicker. Had some long kicks under pressure. I like him

The Giants are done picking. I wish the Vikes had taken that approach -- take fewer but better players. Trade some 5th to 7th round picks to move up. Now we have 4 sixth round picks. Will they make the team? With a team like the Vikes, there is just so many roster spots on the 53. Many of our picks will be cut, as there is no room on the 53.
Draft better players and get some UDFAs.
Looks like the Vikes GM listened to you!

Don't know anything about Fountain but I really hope we find a way to grab Tegray Scales

The odds of any 5th, 6th, or 7th round pick playing any significant role, let alone even making the team, are pretty low.
To get an extra pick when a proven first round player with health issues in Hurst is on the board?
I don't get it. If he gets well? It's a huge steal. If he doesn't? Then he is just like most other picks taken where he was. Barely playing or cut.
Once again, Ballard goes conservative and goes for depth instead of actual starters.
How many sure fire starters can we say came from this draft? 2? Nelson and the LB?
With THIS MANY selections in the early rounds.
Sorry, but imo he has totally blown this draft.
Nate Hairston and Robert Mathis disagree.

Huh?
We need a WR... we need a CB ... and we need more if everything else...
So we still have two picks in the 5th... and now we have a 6th and we still have our 7th...
I have to go to work so I don't get to see the pick. Been waiting 30 minutes to see it

Whyyyyyyyy!?

There are still a few intriguing LBs left. Griffin, Scales, McCray. I think we'll draft one of those guys next round.

Now I am down. I am very high on Hamilton. I wish the kid the best. Great kid.
Not liking the Vikings draft are you?

I'd like us to target Big Bo Scarborough. With three road graders in front of him I think he could do some damage.
-
Alright Colts. I can get behind that pick

Super happy for Skai! He was a leader at USC and brought it every single game. I've really wanted the Colts to give him an opportunity.
