  1. I was just discussing Fisher with a friend of mine on New Years....I'm still not sold on him being a bad coach. He seems to be the king of 8-8, I will say that. Does he have GM duties? I'm not real sure off the top of my head.

But it when he does have offensive talent I feel like he uses it correctly. Eddie George. MVP for McNair. Chris Johnson ran for 2k yards. Gurley has a nice rookie season. But I don't ever recall him having a WR (early Mason?)....and he generally seems to have a goodish defense regardless of the talent.

His QBs have been decent at there absolute best, Young, Fitzpatrick, Bradfird, Locker, Collins, Foles were all starters, I don't even want to get into his often used backups...

And he's had awfully bad division luck. He happened to be in ours during our 15yr heyday....then signs into the NFC West which has been dominanted by SB caliber teams for 5yrs....

i get get that people think he's overrated. But I'm not sure I'm ready to get on board with that.

  2. I can see that. Those were the types of DBs Marvin feasted on. It was the tough/physical guys that Marvin had trouble with.

Marv is def. a HoF, and will get in, just depends on when....If he doesn't make it this year, its gonna be interesting to see how voting goes....Lots of quality talent in coming years thats going to take votes from one another. Farve, Bettis, Edge, STL WR, Brown, LT, Lewis, Reed, all the OL, Greene, Tony G, any coaches or contributors.....

I think of Marvin as kind of the where the HoF is going to have to make there stand on who gets in an who doesn't at the WR position. He will be the first "new age" WR induction.....I've maintained from day 1 that if Marvin is in Hines Ward is as well (same with Bettis, if hes in Edge is too)......

  3. What seems to be known so far:

A "reporter" (former athlete) was investigating performance enhancing drugs regarding this upcoming Olympics in Rio.

Trail went somewhat cold, and followed up on leads in America.

Was led to a "source" who was secretly taped, who outed that the company he worked for supplied performance enhancers and indicated he was aware of performance enhancing drugs being sent to the home of Peyton Manning, as well as other athletes.

Both the source, and the company then denied any involvement once the secretly recorded tapes became public.

Then the athletes involved also denied involvement.

    And here we are.

Can you show where it was deflected on them?

Sure, posts 10, 19, 23, 25, 26, 29 on the first page......Havent managed to count up the remaining 4 pages....I can if you'd like me too, because Im sure there are a couple (a lot) more......But it will just be met with another trivial and flippant 1 sentence comment by you that brings zero substance.....

This is why we shouldn't allow Patriot fans on this forum......

Bc a Pats fan posted possibly the hottest topic in the NFL right now?

Or is it because as soon they did, it immediately got deflected onto the Pats and they began to defend themselves?

    Which one is it?

Please enlighten me how this story has any legs? The ONE single person who has indicated Manning in any way came out and said that he made it up.

so please do tell how this has any legs on any front? Other than you're a Pats fan and apparently lack reading comprehension.

From the outside looking in....He was recorded secretly saying he gave HGH to many high profile people. Now that it's become public and for the world to see he has to cover his butt....wouldn't be the first or last time someone denies a secret recording.

I think I'd vote for Kurt Warner, but Aaron Rodgers already has a better case than him.

I dunno man. I too would vote for Kurt. His body of work isn't as large as Rodgers currently. But I think his 3 SB appearances with 2 teams makes up.....obviously I think Rodgers is going to continue to cement his legacy and eventually get in no question. But this very second I consider the two neck and neck....

Edit....I knew these two were close, but I didn't realize how close.....Rodgers has played 2 less games, has more TDs and less TOs (wide margin)...Warner has more yards and better Comp %.....Both with 4 Pro Bowls, 2 All Pros and 2 MVPs both 1 SB MVP.....Both had an awesome "story" Rodgers behind Favre, Warner as a stock boy....Warner with 2 other SB appearances (one with another team), as well as being key cog in a revolutionary offense.....

NFL disbands today, these two are neck and neck IMO. Rodgers with the edge in stats, Warner with the edge in accomplishments, narrative.....

  8. I forgot about Woodson. He may be first ballot....I think if the NFL ended today only 3 guys are 100% in. Peyton/Brady/Woodson

Rodgers has a few more years to seperate himself from Kurt Warner......I think of Brees as the gate keeper for QBs. If he makes it, then that means Ben and Eli should both be in.

AP is two mediocre seasons away from a lock. LT will be the last RB in until AP IMO.

If Freeney/Mathis are in I have to think that Ware/Peppers/Allen are in before both of them. Those two may get the Kevin Greene treatment.

WR is such a convoluted mess. I don't even know where to begin with those guys. I'm not sure who the current cutoff guy is. It very well may be Reggie.

Patrick Willis is going to be an amazing candidate as well. 8yr career. 5 All Pros. Best MLB for probably 6yrs. Led a dominate defense for years, and made a SB. He's a defensive Terrell Davis.

Revis is very interesting. Joe Thomas too.

  9. Who are players currently in the league that are 100% Hall of Fame players?

Who is currently playing that has a legit shot at the Hall of Fame if there career continues at the current rate?

    Who has an outside shot?

i think Peyton/Brady/AP are locks at this point.

    Watt rt is on pace.

Larry Fitzgetald/Freeney/Mathis have an outside shot.

    Interesting canidates are Eli/BigBen/Calvin

He's average. You're not missing anything.

That doesn't mean we have to kick him off the team. If Fleener winds up being Heath Miller, for instance -- never one of the best TEs in the league, but good enough to start for a long time -- is that a bad thing?

Not at all. But I don't think Fleener is even on Heath Millers level.

He's just such a tweener that I'm not sure if he's ever gonna be anything more than average. I'm more than fine having him on the team for a respectably low cap hit. But anything more than that, I'd just as soon go out and sign the Jack Doyle's, Conner Brate, Vance McDonalds of the league and spend money elsewhere.

  11. The hate is so strong in this thread.

Im assuming once Brady retires all the vitriol, hate, over analyzing, and whinning will be directed at another player. Maybe Cam Newton for his gyrating, or perhaps Jj Watt for his sack dances. Or do they have to beat us over and over again and win consistently for the bandwagon to get hitched to those guys? I just want to be clear on who I can hate in the future, I don't want to be excluded on any future threads.

  12. Julio jones

    Dez Bryant

    Obj

    Antonio brown

    Calvin Johnson

    Aj green

    Keenan Allen

    Jordy Nelson

    D Thomas

    DeAndre Hopkins

    Jillian Edelman

    Brandon Marshall

    Moncrief

    In no order

You forgot Amari Cooper, Larry Fitz, Alshon, Decker.

And guys like Mathews, Sanders, Maclin, Cobb, Landry, Evans, Benjamin, Watkins, Crabtree, Hurns, Robinson, Floyd could all be argued as well.....

  13. I get that people don't like Collinsworth, and to each there own.

But I love him based on the fact I get to see him break down plays. They don't do hardly any breakdowns on the CBS or MNF broadcasts. But at least the guy goes thru what seems like every play, and tells you why something happened. He may be wrong. He may be right. But I at least get to learn something everytime he is broadcasting.

  14. For what its worth......Peytons last 16 games (which includes our playoff game, 2 coaches/systems, 2 separate seasons)

    61%comp 3,817yds, 19TDs, 23ints

Quad, Ribs, Neck, Foot.....that we know of.

Its not gonna get any better.

  15. I didn't like it at the time. Still don't. He's played 'statistically' better than I thought he would this year. Most of our season has been garbage time and he's been a target monster. If we actually do what a majority of our fans want, and utilize or TEs and RBs more his production will plummet. He's already not a TD guy......that and he's already irked me a bit a few times this season. Going out of bounds vs NE, and then his showboating in the Saints game.....

  16. The issue was he was regarded as a really good boss and people enjoyed working for him. These won't be the last Grantland writers to jump ship and join him at HBO.

Now they have Connley as the site runner and he's managed to upset a majority of the staff. One of there strongest recurring themes was there podcasts, and after the NFL podcast had a segment congratulating Simmons on his new gig and it got cut out by the editor both Lowe and the NFL pod stopped producing pods. Lowe has recently come back, probably because he loves basketball and the season is starting, but Mays/Barnwell who normally do around 2 a week haven't had one since the incident.

Say what you want about Simmons, but the guy is really good at acquiring talent and letting them flourish. With his vision of both Grantland and the 30for30 series, ESPN really let go of one there better talents.
