I think we can win in a shoot out with all three of them and the packers haven't been as good this year plus lacy is hurt.

If we couldn't win a shootout at home vs a bad Detroit team when we actually had all our receiving core, I'm not confident we can win a shootout vs anyone. Let alone a shootout when the other teams are found to be rushing Khahlil Mack or ClayMatthews/Julius Peppers

  2. 24-17 Tenn

I see Tenn just dominating the time of possession with the run game. Mariotta picking up key 3rd downs with his legs, and a sneaky good Tenn Def keeping our big plays to a minimum.

    Mariota 16/22 220yds 40rush yards

    Murray 22/112/2.....Henry 13/80/1

    Luck 26/33 280/2

    Gore 16/66

    TY 4/60

    Doyle 5/60/2

We should beat the packers, jets and raiders.

I disagree with 66%  of that.

Packers I assume Rodgers will surgically dice our secondary.  With a dash of run game.

Jets, I can see it going our way, esp if they are in the middle of a qb shuffle. But that's not a given.

Oak, as of now I just see them bashing us over the head with passes and feeding Cooper/Crabtree for 28pts in the air.

If Anderson was a certain tight end there would be a thread about how bad he was. Seems certain players get crucified for injuries while others can't catch a sympathetic breath.................:nono:

Difference is this is 6 games into Andersons 2nd season, as compared to the 6th game into Allen's 5th season....

You mean the Matt Ryan who is playing better than any QB in the league?

I'm not sure if you took that as a slight or not....Ryan's last 4years he's averaged right around 4500/28/15 I just thought it was funny Luck is near identical to that as his floor with no WR, a terrible ol, bad defense, and a run game no one respects. ....given all that I would say his floor is right at Matt Ryan level, which is a pretty darn good floor to have.

Luck is #5 in the NFL in passing yards, #7 in passing TDs.  He's on pace for a season where he'll throw 29 TDs against 11 INTs and 4586 yards.

Before the season started I said that hopefully Lucks floor was Matt Ryan.....as it stands now that's the most Matt Ryan stat line ever.

  7. I'm not of the opinion that starting means they are good which many seem to make that correlation.

The only young guys I see on our team that are anything above average is Kelly and a healthy Anderson. Geathers and Green maaaay end up being something but I'm not holding my breath. Other than that the rest appear to be at best replacment level players.

Give me 10 better.  I'll start you off.

antonio brown, aj green, Dez, odb, Julio jones, Demaryius Thomas

AB, Julio, Aj, Dez, ObJ, DT, Hopkins, Evans, Marshall, Fitz...that's 10 pretty easy. Problem is there are so many more in the muddy middle or injured, or in the wrong situation etc...Alshon, Cooks, Robinson, Watkins, Diggs, Landry, Jordy, Decker, Kelvin, Cooper etc......I'm willing to bet if they got the same amount of targets they could put up similar or better numbers as well.....not a knock on TY just an illustration of the WR depth in the NFL.

The best part about this is a majority of colts fans werent even sure if TY was the best WR on our team vs Moncrief. Not saying your one of them, but to think we have 2 top 10wr in a WR deep league? Not sure I believe that.

  9. Happy to see him playing so well. One thing that I think is huge, and haven't seen anyone mention it....his and Lucks exchanges haven't resulted in any fumbles yet, which is something that really keeps this team afloat. I think we have fumbled 1 time on the center-qb exchange, and that was last week out of the shotgun when Luck took his eye off the ball....to me this has been huge because our margin for error this season has been so razor thin that a lost fumble on an exchange from a rookie center would be devastating.

Looking for all those people in the other thread who said ty was just ok and named other players who were better than him...I'll wait lol

    I'm right here

TY has been phenomenal so far this season. No doubt about it. He's made some huge plays. All that being said I still stand by my assessment of taking10-15 guys before him. We have to keep in mind we've played 5 games, with 4 being among the worst teams in the NFL. We've played from behind a majority, and TY has been gobbling up targets. And let's not pretend this isn't part of TYs MO. A few monster games, followed by several weeks of lackluster production.

Still a fantastic player to have, and awesome WR.

  11. The same guys that have this opportunity are the same guys who have had the opportunity to beat out a starter who was bad enough to be cut.......I won't hold my breath.

That being said, some guys are "game" players and some guys are practice players, hopefully these guys are gamers.

  12. He's always been slightly above average, and surrounded by very poor play, making him look a bit better.

He seems to have regressed a bit, and now that we have somewhat competent OL around him his bad plays are magnified even more.

What we see now is probably what he truly is....Average.....Not a bad thing, not a good thing, just what it is.

NFL talent level is serious when "trash" can score 64 yard TD's...... they've come a long way Gabby

Dorssett literally did nothing on that play but run straight. Go watch it again. Every WR in the NFL can do that.

Dorsett had big plays as a rookie, and already has big plays in Year 2. He's already made a significant difference.

He's also been relegated to a reserve role, until Sunday, which was his first career start, and 14th game overall. There's little sense in comparing a player who hasn't been used to a player who is thrust into the starting lineup right away. (It's also worth noting that 6 of his 14 games so far are without Luck, and 7 of 14 were with a bad OC who didn't use his players effectively.)

I don't think he needs time, I think he needs opportunity, which he really hasn't had, at least not consistently. He had 94 yards as WR3 in the opener. Moncrief is out for a few more weeks, I'm pretty sure Dorsett will get increased opportunities during this stretch, and then we'll have a better idea where he is.

I would assume it comes down to opportunity as well. Which begs the question why is he not given it...Is it role, coaching, offensive gameplan, is it his own fault etc etc.

I dont dislike the guy, frankly I have a hard time having an opinion on someone who has done literally nothing......I just dont agree with the "they need X years" philosophy.....That may have been he case 16years ago, but it isn't anymore, young WR are expected to come in and produce right away.

Skill set?    I can understand your comment about consistency but his skill set is as good as anyone's in the league. He makes those acrobatic catches and sideline snags as good as anyone.

He has good hands for sure, but he doesn't break a lot of tackles, he doesn't attack the ball, his blocking is average, etc etc. Very few WR are perfect in all those categories, so its not a knock on him, it just is what it is.

I'm taking TY over a good number of those guys.  Maclin, Watkins, Sanders, Decker, Edelman, and more.  Also, some of those guys you name have the benefit of playing next to other great talent that takes the weight from their shoulders.  TY has who?  Dorsett, Moncrief, & Allen with a crap line to play with and still puts up great stats.

And thats fair. But it is funny that a lot of fans think we have this amazing QB, and WR Corp, but when arguing individually TY doesn't have anyone taking any heat off of him, or Luck throwing him the ball, or him being a target monster....3 weeks ago Crief was the 2nd coming of Dez, and Dorsett was a future stud, but now TY has no one to help him? Which is it?.....And no TY does not have great stats, which aren't the end all be all by any means, but he's never had more than 82rec, never had more than 1350yds, and never had more than 7tds....to put that in perspective, last year 17 guys had more than 83rec, 6 guys had more than 1350yds, and 25 guys had more than 7 TDs....
