Honestly it all comes down to the oline. Can't have a great season when you have no time to throw.

Andrew, with the help of Chudzinski & our new QB coach, will focus on releasing the football much sooner no matter what type of OL time he ends up with. That's a need. A must. Holding onto the ball too long can be easily corrected. I fully expect that aspect of Luck's game management to change next year for the better.

More so than any year I've been a Colts fan, I expect Indianapolis to return with a vengeance next year.  Luck will lead the charge.

I almost feel bad for our Division foes.  Almost.

I agree whole heartedly. Twice, as a matter of fact. I expect this charge as well. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Luck's return & Chudzinski's playbook for the entire offense. I think this marriage between the two will prove to be outstanding. However, our division foes are making a little bit of noise. But, I'm with you with the word "Almost"! :)

RG, you & BrentMc11 are GREAT fans. Really enjoy reading ya'lls posts. Tell Brent to put down that "snackin" & pay attention. haha Seriously though, my heart screams Broncos v. Cardinals, but my head says just the opposite Patriots v. Panthers. :)

(Hey Brent, pass those chips to me will ya?) :)

The Steelers scored late to cut the Broncos lead to 7 points, and then failed on an onside kick attempt with about 20 seconds to play.

In people's mind's, that means the Patriots killed the Chiefs but the Broncos eked out a win? The Chiefs had three timeouts and Brady’s pass was deflected by a defender, hit Gronk’s shoulder, and somehow bounced right to Edelman for a first down. If that pass is intercepted the Chiefs have a great shot at forcing OT. If it even falls incomplete, the clock would have been stopped with the Patriots facing 3rd and 12 with 1:01 to play. The chances of the Chiefs getting the ball back with time to tie the game would have been very high

Both games were hard fought and competitive throughout. The Steelers and Chiefs were both missing some star players, but overall, the Steelers were a tougher challenge. The Patriots barely scraped by against a team that was missing 3 pro bowl starters (Charles, Houston, and Maclin), and Hali was severely limited.

Three of the four came down to onside kick attempts in one score games, and the other one went into OT. The winning teams were all tested, and they all survived because they executed when it mattered most. It’s just simply not accurate to say the Patriots dominated and Denver eked out a win.

"The winning teams were all tested, and they all survived because they executed when it mattered."

And, that's the rub. If Denver can play mistake-free football at Mile High, then they certainly have a great chance of beating New England.

Am is secretly writing a book about Manning v. Brady but will delete it once the Patriots lose on Sunday.

Where is am, by the way? Haven't seen her around lately. Unusual, with the AFCCG so close.

It's okay to be influenced by need. The Colts won't draft a QB before the 6th round, if at all. Positional value is a factor as well.

It's not okay to reach for need. The fact that you think you need a pass rusher more than you need an offensive lineman shouldn't cause you to pass on a really good lineman that you have rated higher than the best pass rusher.

A lot of times people just say "BPA! BPA!" as if that really explains anything. I've been guilty of that. It's really just a blanket statement that leaves a lot open for interpretation. That's why I've taken to saying 'don't reach for need, stick to your board, and maximize value.' Basic principles that teams shouldn't waver from.

Exactly. Let the picks come to you & adhere to your board. You have a very good chance of acquiring need(s) & value through BPA. Targeting should be done through other means such as FA, undrafted, trades, walk-ons, et.al.

I could deal with this. Hopefully, a Chudzinski playbook revelation.

Hoping for Denver vs. Arizona in the SB only because I don't like NE or Carolina.

Carolina/Arizona: Jerard Allen has broken foot, which may affect outcome. Carolina is on a roll though and they are at home, so Palmer is going to have to play his best. I for one, don't like the "showboating" that Cam Newton does.

Denver/NE:  Brady is 2-6 in Denver so there must be something to how Denver plays him that might make this a close game. The biggest question there is; can Denver shut down Edleman and that quick passing game? Houston was out for KC, so I see Denver having a better defensive line, LBs and DBs. They might be good enough to get pressure on Brady, due to great coverage.

On offense, Denver needs to be able to run some and their receivers can't be dropping passes. like they did against Pittsburg.

Best case scenario for me is Peyton getting another ring. Worst case is Brady getting another one.

Lastly, people talk about Brady being the G.O.A.T. but I would ask this question; Would Brady have 4 rings with another coach and lesser defenses? Would Peyton have more than 1 with Belicheck & better defenses?

Your last paragraph is right on the money, my man. If the Colts had enjoyed Top 5 defenses from 1999-2010? It's a no-brainer as to who holds more VLs & SB rings.

I want Cards to win but the way the Panthers manhandled the Seahawks in that 1st half, that was scary. I think Panthers will win. Both teams have Great Defenses, Very Good Coaches, and Very Good QB's but the HFA for Carolina will probably be a huge key. Regarding the Broncos/Pats, Broncos have the better Defense and HFA and as long as Peyton doesn't it turn it over and the Broncos get 7's in the redzone instead of 3's they can definitely win. This game will boil down to who turns it over more and who executes in the redzone. Generally the road team turns it over more when they play in MileHigh. I think as of now it will be Broncos vs Panthers but it's only Monday. I still haven't seen any of the injury reports, etc.. I realize Brady is awesome but another factor is, it is extremely difficult to Repeat as well.

My thoughts exactly. Mark it down & I'll take that train with you, 06CBE!

Sounds good to me. But what really needs to happen in my opinion is early on in games Chud needs to make it a point to try to get Luck some easy completion attempts  to get Luck settled down and into a passing rhythm and to do that I'd make more of an effort to go over the middle of the field more with some crossing patterns and stretching the field with our TE's, That should also contribute to opening up the running game if affective.

Not to worried about who the QB coach is at this point but going over some of Schottenheimers interviews he sounds like a guy that knows what he is talking about

That is a great 1st paragraph. I think we're going to see a very favorable playbook that hooks into Andrew Luck's "total" ability. To me, I think the Colts have only unveiled a couple layers of the onion as it concerns him. Chudzinski, IMO, will expose the total package that this kid has in his Arsenal. Not being a homer here. The NFL will soon take notice of what really Luck can accomplish with a wide and diverse offense.

Castonzo, Mewhort, and Reitz are retainable in my opinion. Any and all of the rest could be upgraded.

As long as Mewhort can conform to the footwork & sync along with the speed, yeah, as Superman suggests. Castonzo & Reitz already have these aspects IMO. To me, it's the Colts call on Jack. Adding new blood to a ZBS takes some doing especially from a tranfer status at MBS. I'm looking quite forward to seeing what can target from the draft, FA, and undrafted candidates.

I won't watch a Patriots SB unless they play Arizona.  Carolina and NE.......yuck for me.

Brent, even if New England & Carolina advance to the SB, we need ya man. Another ColtsFan rooting against the Patriots makes a difference. Really. Karma & that jazz.

Go ask Eli Manning & David Tyree! :)
