  1. Default Conspiracy Theory of a bills fan: The inside job and the future of the AFC East

Too many coincidental events this week. I hate the Patriots and have been rather outspoken on the ways they continually cheat and get away with it.

In a vacuum, tonight would have been status quo for the Pats with this activity getting swept under the rug. Coupled with the events of the past few weeks, I can't help but feel that the headset communication failures possibly stemmed from beyond the Patriots organization. Let's recap:

    1. The owners communicate to Goodell that Brady's punishment MUST stand.

    2. Brady gets off scot free.

    3. ESPN releases a huge article on the Patriots underhanded methods to gaining a significant competitive advantage. A major aspect of this being the tomfoolery with opposing teams' headsets when the Patriots are at home.

    4. In a Primetime game the very same week, the Steelers experience major headset malfunctions that are actually acknowledged by the announce team.

Normally I'm quick to point the finger at Bellicheck and the Patriots, but tonight I hesitate. I think the other owners have had it. I think we are seeing the start of a setup. Spygate was quickly disposed of when it happened. Why was this ESPN article released now?

Remember when the NFL forced ESPN to take off the show "Playmakers" due to concerns of how that show would affect public opinion of the NFL? The image of the NFL is why that ESPN story never made it out when it was most relevant. The NFL has a heavy hand in what we actually see from ESPN. That story made it out because the NFL owners have allowed it to happen.

Why would the NFL owners allow this to happen? They've been livid since Spygate. Enough is finally enough. Everybody knows Brady was guilty. The court system wouldn't bring justice, now the matter is being taken into their own hands. Releasing this article plants the NFL audience firmly in a position where the Patriots will be under a microscope and judged as harshly as possible.

Within this same week we have a PrimeTime game with the first NFL Regular Season action underway featuring the Patriots at home. Most NFL fans are watching and the ESPN story is fresh in our minds. Sure enough, major headset malfunctions derail Pittsburgh. Unlike the past 15 years, the announcers actually acknowledge that this is taking place. The fans are now ready to point the finger, this is just like the article. Better yet, Tomlin's comments echo the validity of the ESPN article.

Call me a skeptic, but I see too many coincidences. In light of all that has transpired, I find it hard to believe that the Patriots would be brash enough to pull that headset stunt in this game and in such a visible manner. The owners want blood. I expect it to get worse for the Patriots before it gets better.

Ultimately, I could see Bellicheck getting a forced exit. He is the one the owners despise most of all. The culture of cheating revolves around Bellicheck. How soon will this happen? I can't be sure, but things are moving at an awfully quick pace. I tend to believe what goes around comes around. Bellicheck may wind up getting banned for a crime he didn't commit. In my opinion, the ends justify the means. He should have been banned back when Spygate broke out.

So what would this mean for the Bills and the rest of the AFC East? A changing of the guard for the AFC East. The Bills look like the prime candidate to unseat the Patriots in the fallout.

This is why the league has to come down hard on cheating. If you don't teams will continue to do it, and people will claim they're being set up. The reality is The Patriots don't care to follow the rules, because the NFL isn't harsh enough. MLB doesn't have this problem with cheating because they are very harsh on cheaters.
  2. I'm sure Michael Jordan would given huge latitude if he was embroiled in a scandal as a 6 time NBA Champion in the media.

Before you even say Kobe Bryant is a 5 time NBA Champion that got dragged thru the mud as alleged rapist in Colorado remember Bryant's ego & superiority mindset didn't do him any favors.

My point is this: Fans love winning athletes, but you must be self deprecating on & off the field which Kobe just isn't as "The Black Mamba."

Yeah I was thinking of Kobe. I don't think Brady is a man without an ego. He's no Andrew Luck. I'm a white middle aged man, so I don't really see it from Brandons perspective. He's talking about how the league treats its black players, in general. I see it more from a media perspective. Tom Brady had a governor come out and claim the NFL was after Brady because people were jealous of his good looks his fame and his hot wife. He wasn't the only one. There were people coming out of every crack defending Brady. I could never see that with a Black Athlete. I've been watching sports for 30 years, and it's never happened in my lifetime.
  3. Now they're claiming in Boston Reggie Wayne asked to be cut because he thought it was too tough and it wasn't fun. They're also claiming he signed with New England, because he had a better chance to win.

Absurdity. A Hall of Famer asked to be cut, because it was too tough and not fun? Also, he didn't sign with the Colts because they moved on.

  4. Boston Globe

----He acknowledged after the Carolina game that New England’s playbook “wasn’t simple,’’ and it’s unknown if that played a role in the 15-year veteran’s decision.----

Are they serious with this stuff? Reggie Wayne asked to be cut because he couldn't understand the playbook?

That's nuts...Reggie Wayne is one of the greatest Wide Receivers of all time, and they're questioning whether he could understand the playbook?

  5. A) Yeah a real stand up guy:

    • Buys the entire O-Line female sex dolls, except Jonathan Martin, who he buys a male one for. Denies this to investigators, despite all other witness testifying it happened
    • Denied instituting a culture of labelling anyone not on board with Incognito's behaviour a "Judas" despite again everyone, including Incognito testifying to that end
    • Denied knowing anything about any bullying despite several witnesses testifying to the contrary
    • Sent texts to Martin after the story broke pressuring him to stand behind Incognito (another real stand up guy)
Just because you're a former Marine does not automatically make you a stand up guy.

    B) Proof?

What next? That Martin was the agent for an NFL sting to take down Richie Incognito? That others in the NFL were so jealous of the success of the Dolphins' perfect season they set them up?

I don't usually co-sign posts, but this is just plain logic.
  6. And that makes perfect sense. Wells credibility has been torn to shreds the last few months and in particular the last week where the NFL has done a 180 and changed its position on Wells being independent in the Brady case to now saying that article 46 allows them to have an investigation that is not independent. In Turner's case, Wells was hired and paid by the NFL so he can definitely piggy back off of what has happened with Brady and if he can prove Wells lied and intentionally defamed him (a high bar to reach) then by all means he should.

There is no way you read the Dolphins wells report. I think the advice Turner is getting from his Lawyer is, you might as well latch on because there is no smoking gun. The odd thing is smoking guns have never been the standard. When every witness says you did something, I don't see a judge saying wells defamed him. Turner defamed himself.
  7. Ok if Brady and the Patriots are innocent,

    1. Why are the ball boys suspended?

    2. Why did they say, no more interviews with McNally?

    3. Why didn't Brady bring them to his appeal?

    4. Why did McNally say he wasn't going to ESPN, yet?

    5. Why did McNally take the balls into the bathroom?

    6. Why did McNally sneak them out of the ref room?

    7. Why would Brady be mad at McNally for not taking air out of a ball from the Jets game, after the refs put it at "16"?

    8. Why did McNally try to put in a K ball?

    9. Why were the balls PSI levels under, even what their own biased experimenters said the ideal gas law would put them at?

There is no way you can answer all of these questions and still logically conclude, this was some innocent mishap. People trying to explain all of this away cannot possibly believe what they are saying.

So, no answers. Says a lot.
