  1. Luck cannot do it more (regarding short passes) unless the coaches call this type of offense. That has always been the problem the coaching decisions. If you send everyone deep then Luck has to hold the ball and the line has to block for 5 seconds or longer. Why we have done this for the last several years is mind boggling.

  2. Ridgeway was a good pick and Haig may turn out to be a good Pick. However your team really turns on picks 1-3 and that is where Grigson has failed miserably. I do not expect Clark to be all world today but I do expect him to be at least as good as Haig. The point is that this just gives Irsay more information to determine Grigson's fate.

  3. Today we find out about our 3rd round draft pick. Several have commented on the fact that Grigson has gotten better in the draft but I am not so sure. While are last two drafts are sticking around you have to play somebody. I don't know if they are on the team do to being better picks or just because other roster movers were so poor. Last years draft you have Anderson ( I do not hold injury against a GM and hopefully he makes it all the way back). This year Kelly. The rest are still in air. Regardless if Clark plays poorly today then that has to be evaluated by Irsay.

The play was suppose to go to Doyle.  The screen was the third read in progression.  He ran out of time.

If the play was suppose to go to Doyle then you do not let lineman come free immediately to hit your linemen.  The Doyle comment was simply to cover up for the poor call. If you look at the defense we need 1.5 yds. The CB on our wide out on the right is 8 yds off the ball. You could send our WR up the field for 5 and then come bac 2 yds. for an easy first down but we do not seem to have that play in our playbook.

  5. Pagans has to go.  Sit on 2nd row behind team.  It is clear that they do not respect the coaches.  Their was zero concern or sense of commitment.  The decision to single cover Brown was terrible coaching. The o-line is a mess. They Wiff on blocks on a regular basis. The coordination of defense is bad. We are going nowhere with this staff.

I'm going to explain it,  but I'm confident you won't understand it,  because you're not interested in understanding it.

You take someone like Clark if you think he could someday be a 1st round talent.     Someone with a really high ceiling.       Someone who you think is dramatically better than a pick in the early 80's where he was taken.

It's a gamble.     But it came with the recommendation of Joe Philbin,  one of the better OL coaches in the NFL.

A rare shot at landing a 1st round talent with a 3rd round pick.    All that is required is a little patience.

It was signed-off by Irsay,  who knew we weren't going to get anything out of our 3rd round pick.

So, everyone was on board ---- expect you an a few others.

I understand a little bit in that I have coached football for 15 years. I have worked with multiple players that need to develop. Can you name a player who had zero ability to play when drafted that later rose to the talent of a first round pick? My point is you do not gamble with a 3rd round pick. You gamble with a 7th round pick. In todays NFL with free agency and salary caps you need players in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd who can play. Green taken in the second is an example. He has a lot of ability but was raw. The Colts drafted him with the thought that he would be brought along slowly. However due to injuries he had to play sooner rather than later and while he will get better he has been able to play.  Clark as of this moment in time is not good enough to even play when we had massive injuries to the o-line.    “Teams are drafting on potential. College coaches have known it a while and it’s going to be known in the pro ranks soon, potential is what gets coaches fired down the line.” (Said by Kansas University head basketball coach Roy Williams.—ed.)

  7. I don't know of any 3rd round pick that when drafted cannot play. I understand that sometimes you draft a player where you have players ahead of him and let him learn instead of starting. However in those cases if needed the player can still be used on the field. Clark has been with the team since May and is not able to be uses in November even if the need arises. Makes Zero sense.

Defense wins championships, I agree. But as long as Jim Irsay is owner we will never be a defensive team. It isn't what he wants. He wants sexy, exciting offensive football. I like sexy football as long as its coupled with winning games.

When Jim Irsay was our GM he gave up 2 1st round picks for Fred Young. So he does like defense.

  9. Had to go back and look at the sacks "given" up by Good and on further review it was a coaching error for the most part.  The center was uncovered. In most pass protection the center would drop back and then help as needed. The colts had our Kelley go immediately to help Haig whether he needed it or not. KC picked this up. They had the DT on Haig rush to the right and Kelley would follow him. With Ritz getting beat bad to the outside this left Good one on one with the DE with a 4-5 yard lane to work in. No way Good on any other guard can win that battle every time.  We never changed and KC exploited our coaching mistake. Simply not Good's fault as he was hung out to dry.

Granted the line did him no favors and the play calling left much to be desired.

But even when Luck had a little time,  I thought he looked lost,  confused,   and uncertain.      He looked like a rookie still trying to figure things out.

I think this was one of the worst games of Luck's career.      Hugely disappointed.

The worst post ever. A quarterback cannot play when he Is being hit immediately over and over. What an *.

  11. You have a bad memory regarding Manning. I had season tickets and with every playoff lose everyone around me would be constantly screaming that Manning could not win the big one, could not play under pressure, had no arm strength. The same was talked about by the uninformed on the forums. Basically the same crap that Luck has put up with as opposed to fans appreciating what they have.

When Lucky STARTS throwing the ball as or before his receivers come out of their break like Elite QB`s
often do, then he will not be the problem.  To me, it partly looks like a post snap slow thinking/trust problem, and also the effect of having shrimp WR`s that get muscled at the line and can`t get open quick.
Lucky deserves another Big WR to pair with Moncrief and lots of Practice, Practice, Practice.
      Unfortunately our Leadership.... well they just don`t   #@*+!$ ?   %&=    !T!!!!

You do not have receivers coming out of breaks on 7 drop step passes. you hold the ball until they run open down the field. Luck is being asked to hold he ball by the coaches. Why can people not get this.

  13. As it relates to any good offensive coach or Head Coach on the first page is the play that will get two yards. A team learns to run that play to perfection and until they can do that you do not go to page 2. The colts don'ts even have a play for 6 inches.
