  1. The Bears have to dump Cutler in my opinion because you cant retrain him. See how Brady gets * and screams when things go bad while Cutler slumps on the bench and from his body language you cant tell if he is ahead or behind. Leadership is not his bag. Talented yes but he always has the look of being hung over from a New Years Eve party. Tons of rebuilding for that  club.

That contract he has makes it kind of tough to just dump him.

  2. you still need to prove the balls were tampered with before any penalties can be applied.

The chain of command for the balls is:

theyre submitted to officials for approval

the officials hold on to the approved balls until kick off

the balls are given to the ball boy at kickoff and all are held by the ball boy throughout the game

considering how many tv cameras there are theres no where to hide on a sideline.  So if the balls were deflated after the fact there must be video evidence.  And unless said evidence is found, there's no proof of tampering.

but in reality the hate orgy is in full swing so facts arent allowed...

Troy Vincent, the league's senior executive vice president of football operations, told ProFootballTalk.com earlier Tuesday that the NFL expected to wrap up its investigation in "two or three days."

Yet to be determined is what, if any, penalties may be imposed upon Patriots. One source described the league as "disappointed ... angry ... distraught," after spending considerable time on the findings earlier Tuesday.

Part of the investigation that still needs further vetting is how the 11 footballs became underinflated. The above comments come from here. http://espn.go.com/boston/story/_/id/12202450/nfl-says-new-england-patriots-had-inflated-footballs-afc-championship-game

For the league to be dissapointed, angry, and distraught means to me that they know something really bad happened... and now they are just going through everything with a fine tooth comb. They will find the person, or persons involved.

  3. sorry, but these latest findings mean nothing.  Of course a ball is going to lose pressure over the course of being used in a game.

on top of that the measurements were done 48 hours after the game.  that is well beyond reasonable, especially for something like PSI

The ball was 16% smaller than normal, and that is not going to happen during the game due to simply being used on the field. The messurments I'm sure were done when the people noticed there was something suspicious. The Ravens argued the same point with the balls when kicking... and maybe that is why Adam Vinatieri's kick was so far off. A flatter ball with wind added in would cause a few more issues.

  4. If the colts can't beat them on the field at least we get the pleasure of burying their legacy after all the heartache they've caused us over the years.

    Peyton= GOAT

Not so fast, buckaroo. They buried their own legacy under a pile of arrogance and stupidity. I really think they figured that with the last time they wouldn't be caught again... and if they were the penalty would be light. That shouldn't be the case here becasue this stuff hurts the entire game. Plus they can't burn these footballs before people found out what they did, and to what level.

  5. i read some place that the Colts became suspecious in the first New England game. So my guess is they were on the look out for it that or they have the smartest equipment manger in history.

I'm willing to bet there are more teams who had the same problem against them.... and a lot of talk had been going on behind the scenes, but this time they actually have tangible proof in the form of a football.

  6. The refs DID INSPECT the balls 2 hours and 15 minutes before the game.    That's not in dispute.

The balls got deflated AFTER that.    That's what makes New England guilty,  caught red-handed.

Likely the ball boys did it on behalf of the men in charge. This whole thing is pretty sad... and I hope the Goodell has enough air in his to make an example of this team. You hurt the game you pay the ultimate price. Like Pete Rose did for baseball.

  7. This thread has gone to 19 pages and we have gone over everything on the matter, perhaps it is time to close the thread and discuss other football topics.

The Broncos hired Gary Kukiak, anybody have any thoughts on the hire.

Nothing to see here, huh. You guys can't run... or hide from the fact that again your team has hurt the integrity of the sport. To hell with the outcome of one game.

  8. I will always be a Patriot fan no matter what.

Lets not forget that Refs responsibility is to check the balls 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to the game...what happened to that?

If its an NFL **** UP then they should own up to their mistake.

We will see what the NFL announces tomorrow.

No one is challenging your fandom, but I'd be upset as a fan of a team who will now always be remembered for cheating first and foremost. If the team was deflating balls as they were being tossed in what the refs do before the game is irrelevent. I bet the ball boys take a fall for this... and were doing it all game on behalf of the hooded one and/or higher ups.

  9. We'll know more in the next 24-72 hours I'm sure, but if it turns out what I feel is the case, I'll apologize to Colts since Belichick or Brady probably won't. Believe me, I feel worse right now for winning than you Colts fans do for losing. I'm still hoping there is some logical explanation, but 11 out of 12 balls bad... that only points to cheating. I feel like a fool. I feel like I've been lied to by Belichick and Brady this week, laughing off the report. Not denying anything. Right now I have zero interest in this SB. That's how bad I feel right now. For what it's worth, being a lifelong Patriots fan, if only my vote counted, and all the details prove accurate, I'd vacate the Patriots win and give the Colts the win and the Super Bowl spot. Disgusted in Mass.

Honestly, if I was Kraft I'd fire Belichick for his nonsense. This is going team mean that any time anyone mentions the Patriots they will bring up cheating next. No need to apologize... but this also hurts the integrity of the league.

  10. How about a bowl ban like in ncaa? Kind of like the one Carroll earned for his college team before jetting to the NFL. One year for each ball for every year BB coaches. No way to avoid that unless you wanna wait til your 70s for another legitimate shot again.

NCAA banned Penn State and took wins from Paterno for a few years only to give his wins back in the last few weeks which is sad. I would have bet money on Carroll being the one to get the banhammer first for rules infractions in the NFL too.

  11. Like BB had anything to do with the balls...

But of course if I were a Colts fan I would want BB to be removed from the league so they could actually start winning some games vs the Pats.

Lets be truthful, that's exactly what you are all thinking.

Odds are he had everything to do with it along with some players... and the owner. We are thinking your guy(s) have hurt the intergrity of the game of football as a whole on multiple occasions with both the Ravens and the Colts. I gurantee more teams will come out as well. You can't keep making up nonsense arguments to cover that fact.

  12. I think Redding retires. Landry will most likely be gone.

We will need Werner to step up or he's gone too after next year. We will need to upgrade out MLB position, and of course safety position.

Landry should be gone along with other notible losers like Richardson.
