Is Jonathan Allen really expected to be there at 15? I'd be shocked if he was.

Disregarding Allen I would go with Barnett or Lamp but I bet CB would go with Conley.

It's a Fanspeak mock..so take it with a grain of salt...but that being said it's what came up. I thought it would be pretty sweet if it was real.

  2. This is what sits in front of you at 15. What do you do?

Adam Stites keeps a mock draft database updated. The most updated version includes 66 different mock drafts, and here’s how those mocks look for the Colts:

    1. Haason Reddick, LB,  - 13.6%

    1. Reuben Foster, LB,  - 13.6%

    3. Dalvin Cook, RB,  - 12.1%

    4. Derek Barnett, EDGE, - 9.1%

    4. Forrest Lamp, G,  - 9.1%

12% for Cook??? and not a CB on the list??? Hmmmmmm

OK....    thanks....   now that you've refreshed my memory,  I actually do remember reading that passage.

I'm just not as bothered by it as you are.      Maybe that's on me...     maybe I should be....    I just didn't read it and think he's going to run her over.     I thought he was just being a stupid kid...

That's kind of the problem, he knows all eyes are on him...he knows he is being evaluated on everything he does..he knows he has questions about his character already and then to be a "stupid kid" and do something like that is a red flag. If he can't get it together now , when he has so much on the line how comfortable are you spending one of our draft picks and giving him millions of dollars and hoping he grows up??? Me, I'm not..he's a great running back and if he gets his act together he could have a great career...but to me it's just to many red flags..find a "safer" option and move on.

  5. Looking at it like this- for CB we have no clear starter at #2, we have no clear starter at nickel, and Vontae is in a contract year i do believe. Then at the safety's you got Geathers(good but injured neck :( ) Butler(31 on a 1yr deal) and Green( total ? as of now). Now I know we have others(melvin, farley ect) but I fell like the secondary depth is even worse than last year when they were looking for guys off the street so I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 picks go to the secondary in some combination

What I'm seeing is the debate on if or when we should draft him.  Most agree he's one of the top 3 RBs in the draft.

Yes, some people will never get over that video.  Some will never get over Mike Vick.  Everyone has their right to their opinion.

To me, he's the story of the draft this year, and that's why we talk about him.  No matter how you feel, it's going to be very interesting to see which day his name will be called.  I thought we ruled him out based on what Ballard said earlier, but after reading the article Majin posted I'm not so sure.

Maybe you should re-read this tread, because their are about 3 spots where his draft position is debated...all the rest are debates about the charterer..with some really being close to attacks against a posters actual beliefs.

It's the off season, that's what we do here.  Heck, a newly signed backup long snapper has his own thread.

Yeah but the problem is no one is debating if he's a good athlete. We all know he's a great RB. What is debated is how you feel about what he did, and that just leads to verbal assaults, some posters on here are in every Joe MIxon thread talking about how great he is but want to attack those who feel differently and are voicing that. It's just bad, especially when this comes down to one man's beliefs and no one knows what they are.

  8. Don't we have enough Joe Mixon threads already ? This has been talked about to death in about 6-7 other threads. He is a great RB, and If you like him great, if you don't that's great to, nobody's mind is getting changed on this at this point. In the end it comes down to If Irsay and his daughters want the guy, none of us know the answer to that so lets just leave it alone already.

We signed Schwenke. And have two young guys. The position we completely ignored is CB, we have one starter.

I don't understand why more people haven't realized just how bad our secondary is going to be if we don't get at least one press-man starter and a good slot guy. Really even with Butler I'm not super confident with the safety depth. If Green doesn't show improvement we could be one injury away from having real problems with the deep balls, remember you're probably going to have 2 rookies on the field, the safety's are going to have to cover up some mistakes this year.

  10. I don't see any way we can wait until the 3rd for a CB. We have to get a starter and probably a slot. I'm thinking we only draft 1 LB and don't even look at RB until the 4th, honestly I would be surprised if we draft any offensive position other than RB. We just have way to many holes in the secondary to not spend about 3 picks on it this year. I feel like next year will be the year we add more O-line and TE help.

    1. Hassan Reddick (ILB/OLB)- I like him as a potential 3-down type ILB, who can also be moved all over the place to help with pass rush.

    2. Gareon Conley (CB) - One of Conley, Moreau, Awuzie, Wilson, K. King will be there and I'd take any of them. That's a great feeling...

    3. Isaac Isiata (OG)- We need a guard and this guy seems like a great value option. Very strong, and has raves for his on-field effort and work ethic.

    4. Marlon Mack (RB)- The best chance at a 3 down back we're probably going to get this late. I like Perine and some others, but Mack has won me over today.

    4. George Kittle (TE)- Very exciting prospect to add to our TE group.

    4. John Johnson (S)- Still seems weird he's projected this low but whatever. Solid prospect who seems like he has the polish to possibly go in an usurp Green's role year 1.

    5. Elijah Lee (ILB)- The right kind of raw prospect you hope to find a good value in at this point in the draft. He's got the size and speed to do the job, has solid tackling skills and showed coverage potential. I would love to bring this guy in to continue beefing up our LB core with depth and potential.

I think they have to go more into the secondary. I'd probably loose 2 of those offensive choices and replace with another CB and DL.

    Round 1 -- Hasson Reddick ILB/OLB

The guy you build your defense around. He has great pass-rush ability, but shows the instincts, speed and change of direction to drop into coverage as well. (Alternative: Gareon Conley)

Round 2 --  Chidobe Awuzie / Fabian Moreau CB

Either would be a good pick imo. We ignored corner in FA because there's so much value in the draft.  Awuzie is the more polished corner, Fabian has elite speed.

Round 3 -- Joe Mathis OLB

He lead the nation in pass-rush productivity by an edge defender before he got hurt. Great value here.

    Round 4 -- Corn Elder/Jordan Lewis CB

Start in the slot day 1. Lewis would be a steal if he fell this far. He plead not guilty but who knows what will happen.

    Round 4-- Eddie Jackson FS

    Another falling because of injury.

Former CB, now FS, with elite ballhawk (10INT) and return skills (3TDs). Playmaker in the run game (126TKL - 7.5TFL - 2FF), and pass game (12PD). Great hands. Great instincts, reads QBs and reacts quickly from center field.

Round 4-- Antonio Garcia/Jon Toth OG

Even more competition on the right side.

    Round 5-- RB

Im sure one that's interesting will be available here.

Tell me what you like or hate. I thought Simon and Sheard were good additions.

I like it, more and more I'm convinced that this is going to be a secondary heavy draft us.

You were basically right but it is always good to have least 1 older Vet to help the youngsters. We are so thin in the Secondary that this was simply necessary. He is 31, so it's not like he is Mike Adams age.

    *turns 31 tomorrow

Do they start calling him POP now at training camp?

Except for the AP part, I agree with everything you said.  Has anyone asked Irsay what he thought about Mixon?  He's the guy (and Carlie will chime in) that is going to have to give the nod to Ballard.

If anyone should think people deserve a second chance, it should be Mr. Irsay.

Yeah, but he's got daughters and that can affect your thoughts on things like this
