I dont buy the 'nobody wants to sign with Indianapolis' argument.

Why would Free Agents want to sign with Green Bay of all places? It's tiny with no culture or diversity. And brutally cold.

Few players sign with Dallas. Nobody is clamoring for New York, LA or Miami. Those franchises stink. This isn't the NBA where everyone is a diva.

Players want to make what they can and win if possible.

i agree, but there is a little bit of significance.  Why Green Bay over Indy?  Green bay gets the exposure and has great history.

All you folks psycho-babbling about free agency and the front office not making splashes……please remember that it takes two to tango!

Polian didn’t sign high priced big name free agents…..

    Grigson didn’t either…..

    And neither has Ballard…..

Two potential take aways, maybe those high priced big names players just didn’t want to play in Naptown? Maybe the Owner doesn’t want to overpay those guys….

But hey, if you want to raise your blood pressure over Ballard not signing a guy you think he should then go right ahead!

My guess would be that the owner gives instructions not to over pay for free agents and the GM's have followed his wishes.

They aren't taking days off this time of year.    Free agency just opened, plus they are doing draft prep.  Drive out to the complex on 56th Street.  There will be a lot of vehicles in that parking lot

As many as Monday through Friday?

    #1 seeds:

    Houston

    UConn

    Purdue

    North Carolina

    -Pretty much a lock.

ESPN just said Purdue will get the #1 overall seed if they win their tournament but yet Houston and UConn are ranked ahead of them, Purdue is 3rd in the AP Poll. College basketball confuses me. What if Houston and UConn win their tournament? What is the difference? NC can even lose, and they will still be a #1 seed at 4th best team at worse, what a luxury to have.

Wouldn't a new ranking be out on Monday if the season wasn't over?  I suppose they are saying that Michigan State/Wisconsin/Illinois is a tougher 3 games than TCU/Texas Tech/Iowa State or Xavier/St. Johns/Marquette.

I'm hoping NC loses today so that there will be other candidates for the 4th spot.

I think Mich state is 3rd on Bubble so fairly safe as only 3 bid stealers are left and all would have to win.

I think Oregon is likely over Colorado, UAB and Temple each in semis would need 2 wins to capture America and both have uphill battles vs the 2 Florida powerhouses today in USF and FAU.  Finally NC State with a miracle win yesterday may not have much in the tank vs the Tar Heels but we shall see.

    My Bubble

    1)Virginia- It bursts

2)St Johns-Sweating it but make it

3)Mich St- Sweating it but make it

A lot of good games today, Ill likely be watching that Atlantic 10 mess sort itself out,  Nebraska vs Illini,Marquette vs Uconn and Oregon vs Colorado while flipping for stretches.  As a college hoops fan nothing like these 2 weeks.

Usually the Big 10 gets 6-9 teams in the tournament, but this season it may be only be 5-6.

I think Nebraska ended IU's chances of a tourney bid with the dominating win.  Ohio State is done as well.  Iowa has a chance.

I said Iowa and was wrong.  It was Illinois who beat Ohio State.   I think Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska will all get in.  Outside of that, in the Big 10, Northwestern and Michigan State have an outside chance.

IU just won again over Penn St., 5 in a row now including wins over Wisconsin and Michigan St. during this streak. 11-10 now in conference play, 19-13 overall. They play Nebraska tomorrow. If they beat Nebraska and they have be in, JMO. That would put IU at 20 wins at that point.

I think they need to win the Big ten tournament in order to get in.   It could happen.  Nebraska is not a solid team.

  8. Great signing.  The team needed a backup that can play well and win games,  It makes losing Minshew nearly insignificant.   With AR, a good backup is needed.  Until AR proves otherwise, it was a must.

    He would have won 10+

Funny you would say that since Minshew played and won the 2 wins that AR is credited with (I believe I remember reading that), but either way, the record was .500 before his injury.  So I would say, at best we would have won 8 or 9 games.   No need to harp on this because it really isn't important because we don't know.  I am hoping he wins 10+ this next season.

Honestly, 100 times better than Brisset, rivers, wentz, Ryan, Minshew. I had so much fun watching AR play.. and that was without JT. We will finally have a big three this year!!! I'm freaking happy

This is yet to be seen.   We would not have won 9 games with AR last season, so Minshew was better, in my opinion.  AR has his chance in 2024 to show his stuff.

It blows my mind how much of media and fans will push a narrative. For example, one media person said "Against the Rams, Ricardson was the best player on the field". hahaha Or called a "franchise QB" and "the next great Colts QB". Tell me this...based on what????  That he was drafted high? So where JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, and Akili Smith. That he is an athletic monster? So were Tim Tebow and Trey Lance.  Or, is it because he was drafted high, he has physical traits, and we are told that he will be those things?

So I suggest those who drink the Kool-Aid refer to Justin Fields. Similar player with much more experience in college.  A good runner for a QB who is inaccurate as a passer. But every year we hear "Oh, but he is progressing". Compared to who?  Fields got sacked 1 time out of every 9 passes.  Ok, they blame poor offense line.  But when Tyson Baggert, a college free agent who had to play as a rookie, started games, he was sacked 1 time out of every 29 passes.  So did the line suddenly get better?  Yet, there are STILL media people pushing that Fields has this great potention.  Come on, after three seasons, I think we know what he is.  An inaccurate, indecisive QB who can run. And new to the world. QBs are supposed to be PASSERS first.

Anthony Richardson seems like a good, hardworking guy. But I have little doubt he will be a bust as an accurate, decisive NFL QB.  He will run and that will make highlight films. He will have an ocassional nice pass or game. But overall, he will be a bust.

That is why I am praying the Colts resign Gardner Minshew.  Because he is and will always be a better NFL QB than Richardson.  Mark my words.  If we lose Minshew. we better draft another QB prospect like Michael Pratt and just hope he can be a Brock Purdy type gem, because Anthony Richardson is our Trey Lance. I guarantee it.

So you are complaining about people who think AR will be good but in the same post say you think he will be a bust.   No information for either side to say that stuff but it is odd that you just choose the other side to do the exact same thing.

I am not sold that AR will be great, but I am also not confident that he will bust.

Purdue has a golden opportunity to win it all this year. How about IU getting in? 4 straight wins now (10-10, 18-13 overall), they looked dead, not so sure now. I think they get in if they win 1 game in the Big 10 tournament.

I think they need at least 2 wins in the big 10 tourney for a chance to get in.  They are currently 6th in the Big 10 but are 0-6 against ranked teams in both the AP and USA polls.  Iowa and Michigan State are both tied with them in the Big 10.  I think 1 of iowa, Michigan State, IU and Ohio State get in the tourney,

Stetson right down the way from me made it for the first time ever, UCF's former coach Donnie Jones doing a great job with that program.

It is nice to see that for a small program.   The fan base will be so excited, more so than ever.

Bothe Purdue and IU won today.  Purdue securing a number 1 seed and IU possibly knocking Michigan State out of the tourney.

What is the point of booing at a home game?  Pretty dumb.   I've personally never booed as the away team runs into the stadium,  it also seems dumb.  But I at least get why people do it.

I have boo'd at times.  Not often, but if the team is playing like crap or the refs are doing horribly, I will boo them.

No,  booing is pretty childish to be honest.  Never understood the practice.   Like,  if you had a bad day at work and everyone was just shoving thumbs down in your face,  telling you how much you suck.  Throwing tomatoes at you and the like.   Then you snap and say "I'm sorry,  it was my first brain surgery "

So cheering is OK but booing isn't?   I disagree with that.
