It's gotta be frustrating for him as a recovering addict, that as soon as anything happens to him or people think he is acting different. Everyone assumes he's fallen off the wagon, I would say don't fall for the sensationalism.

He's just gotta let it roll off his shoulders.

  2. I don't know either way but someone with a history like his and has been in rehab "at least 15 times" it is not a stretch to assume it was an overdose.

I had no idea he was only 64.  I thought he was closer to being in his 80's.

Last December, police were called to Jim Irsay’s home around 4:30 a.m. ET and found him in bed unresponsive and cold during what authorities called a "suspected overdose."

However, the Indianapolis Colts owner denied the authorities' report.

"It wasn’t an overdose,’’ Irsay said to Fox 59 in Indianapolis. "I don’t know why when you have your name in the paper in the past, people throw that out there quickly. I don’t pay attention to it all that much, but I don’t think it’s fair."

"It's a long road and you have to be patient. The great news is everything is going well," a hospitalized Irsay said in March after he underwent a procedure on his right leg.

The leg procedure was performed in an effort to improve Irsay's mobility. The 64-year-old also revealed that he has undergone "26 surgeries over the last seven years."

The billionaire was the subject of a "Real Sports" interview with Andrea Kremer in November, when he said he has been to rehab "at least 15 times." He also mentioned a near-death situation that gave him an epiphany.

    St. Louis Chiefs…

I think St. Louis is fine with only having the Battlehawks of the USFL.

I don't think I would root for the Chiefs if they move.  They would become one of my hated teams joining the Cowboys and Ravens.

I'm guessing that fans are often wearing their KC Chiefs gear that they paid high dollar for.

Not the result I expected, that was bad. Game 2 is a must win now, have to split in the 1st 2 to have a chance. Road teams that lose the 1st 2 games, lose 90% of all series. Can't fall behind 2-0.

Game 2 is tomorrow night.   You are right, they must win it.  Really blew it yesterday.  I watched just a little bit, but the Pacers were shooting quick bad shots the whole time I watched.

Don't know what people are so crazy on this, Diggs isn't the guy you want on your team

He is good if you are set to win now.  Houston will most likely win the AFC South next season.

I just thought I would take this opportunity to brag a bit about the fact that I had the opportunity to chat with Peyton at the Masters last week for about 5 minutes.  Truly a bucket list experience and I must say, he has the Southern Hospitality that one might expect but wow- did not expect to run into him and it was quite the experience.  It just had to be the one place left on earth where cell phones are banned, so no picture opportunity unfortunately.

I told Peyton that my first Colts experience was riding to Buffalo in a blizzard when the Colts were 14-0 and they benched him only to lose that game. I said thanks for my first Colts experience being one where he was riding the pine.  He laughed, apologized to me and said that if it was up to him he would have been checking down in that snow storm for 4 quarters.  He thanked me for the support, and was asking me a bit about myself, where I am from, etc.  Quite the gentleman! I think it was obligatory for him to be nice to patrons while he was wearing his Green Jacket, but none the less....a great experience meeting a childhood hero. Lynn Swann walked up to us while we were talking and shook Peyton's hand.  I joked that now was the perfect time for a 10 yard slant- and then slid into the bushes like Homer Simpson with humility.

    Unforgettable experience everyone!

Would love to hear some of your Peyton stories from over the years, since it is a bit of a slow time of year before the draft! Let it fly Colts fans

That is great for you.  Enjoy the memories.  I have no interest in the Masters myself but maybe Peyton added some comedy.

Nice Rod Woodson. Can't say you are wrong. Standout player at Purdue and a Hall of Famer in the NFL. A lot of people don't like Bob Knight so I get it. One of my best friends doesn't have Knight on it either. He has Jeff Gordon instead because of racing (this is a racing state) and Gordon going to high school here, growing up here and dominating the Brick Yard 400 in NasCar.

I mostly chose Rod Woodson because he still helps out the state.  He still lives in Fort Wayne (part time) and still hosts football camps each year.  A great guy.

My Mt Rushmore for sports figures in Indiana are:

    1. Peyton Manning - Played from 1998-2010 seasons. Won a SB, went to 2 SB's, won 4 League MVP's while here in Indianapolis.

    2. Reggie Miller - Was a Pacer from the 1988-2005 seasons. He got us to the Finals in 2000 where we played the Lakers in 6 tough games. We also went to 6 Eastern Conference Finals with him leading the way = 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000Finals, 2004. He is also in the NBA Hall of Fame.

    3. Bobby Knight - Was Head Coach of the IU Hoosiers from 1972-2000 seasons. He won 3 National Championships = 1976, 1981, and 1987. The 1976 team went undefeated at 32-0. He also went to another Final 4 in 1992.

    4. Larry Bird - Had a bigger impact on the Boston Celtics as an NBA player but here in Indiana, he led Indiana St to the Final game of the NCAA Tournament in 1979 and he was born here in Indiana. He was also a great Head Coach for the Pacers from 1998-2000. Getting the Pacers to the Finals in 2000.

Lets say Caitlan Clark wins 3 or 4 WNBA Championships here in Indianapolis, she will be knocking on this door! The Simpsons GIF by KiwiGo (KGO)

Mine would be similar.  In no particular order:

    Larry Bird

    Reggie Miller

    Payton Manning

    Rod Woodson.

Unfortunately, I agree, great women Soccer players feel like they should be paid more too but you can only be paid so much based on your audience watching = Fact. If the same amount of people went to games and watched the WNBA like they do the NBA, Clark would be making millions. There is nothing women's leagues can do about it because they don't have the audience to increase their salaries = Fact. It has nothing do with discrimination. Money is money. I think most WNBA players know this and so do most Soccer players. That Megan Rapone who plays women's Soccer player makes me want to puke. I can't stand her. She puts down the US all the time, I would like to see her live in any other country and get the chances and make the money she has had here.

Back to Clark, I am sure Clark is extremely happy with that salary playing a kid's game. She loves the US as well and would never kneel for the flag either. With her sponsors she will be a millionaire anyway and loved here in Indianapolis.

I agree.  The WNBA is ticking upward but it has to sustain it.  I do not watch the NBA or WNBA, I quit watching the NBA 10 years ago.

Caitlin Clark is very pretty, especially when she dresses up and wears makeup. She also has personality and has a fan following. BTW, not every sponsor has to be beautiful or handsome. For example, Peyton Manning isn't handsome, but he has charm, talent and personality. He never lacks for sponsorship or commercials.

I think she is very average looking.   But she has shown some marketability which could ear her lots of money.

157-115 Pacers win. 6th seed we are. Question is, who will we play? Bucks or Knicks 1st. Doesn't matter to me, I just wanted to stay out of Boston's bracket. Get them late when they usually choke.

My reaction: Biggest win for this franchise since forcing a Game 7 vs the Cavs and LeBron in the 2018 playoffs. One game at a time is our mantra as we plan on a long playoff run. This win is for you Indianapolis, screw the East Coast bias stuff that wanted Philly in that 6th spot and have ignored us. Laughing at you too Molly and Stephen A and your precious Philly team. We were better this year, and you can take that to the bank! Nobody ever talks about us, now they will.

It is definitely put up or shut up time.  I remember everyone talking about the Pacers in that early season tournament, then it went away.

  12. 2006Coltsbestever, You were correct that Clark will have an effect on the Indy WNBA team and the league.

Unfortunately they do not list ticket sales but refer to the price increases.   Everyone feels she will be taken by Indiana, no question.  I do not watch the NBA or the WNBA.  Is she the best player coming out of college for the WNBA?

Meanwhile, ticket marketplace Vivid Seats reports the team's regular-season opener -- a May 14 road game against the Connecticut Sun -- has seen a price increase of 91% since Clark declared for the draft. The Fever's home opener, on May 16 against the New York Liberty, has seen a 50% price increase since Clark declared, Vivid Seats reported.

At ticket platform SeakGeek, the average Fever resale price for home games is currently $182 -- a 136% increase from 2023.

    I dont disagree, BUT

Stroud, by the end of the year was a top 5 QB in the NFL

Take this talent and add MUCH MORE talent. and they will be very hard to beat

I am hopeful that AR grows this next year, and looks the part, in the offseason next year, we may make some more aggressive moves.... (Like the Texans are doing right now)

The correct time to be "all in" is when you know your QB is and will play great.  The Colts are a year away from that but hopefully AR shines.
