  1. Your tone certainly doesn't match Irsay's tone. He didn't call him names, he said he was a politician, as in he usually keeps things close to the vest. He expressed he wish Peyton did the same here.

There was no name calling or even anger in his voice.

Yeah calling him a politician and telling him to keep it in the family TO the media?.

Did you even see what Peyton said?. He didnt accuse anyone, he just expressed his sadness. He didnt say what Jim did was right or wrong.

You dont go to media and call your player a politician.

  2. Irsay isn't mad at Peyton, he's just explaining some of the things Peyton mentioned. Once again the media blows something out of proportion and you guys eat it up. Eating it up adds to the drama.

Just explaining?. Calling him a politician, accusing him of not keeping with family?. Sure, thats explaining depends on where you learned your language.

Peyton didnt call names, he just expressed his opinion that people working with him are let go and he was sad.

The owner goes to media and calls him a "Politician". I lost all respect for Jim.

I really wish Peyton gets healthy ( he has enough fuel in his fire already ), goes to some other team and when he gets a chance to play Colts Edit

  3. Its sad. Every other post is someone grasping at straws trying to rationalize that Manning will still be a Colt this year. I don't think fans understand Mannings situation very well. Everyone seems to think he is some kind of god-like messiah who will magically heal by the time of the March 8th date (or be close enough to healthy) and that he will suit up, toss 30 - 40 TDs, 5k yards and the Colts will be back in the SB. Its the dream-scenario. Two words, Andrew Luck. Learn to love the guy because hes going to be here for a long time.

Guess we have a new Nostradamus

  4. I totally agree. I believe Irsay said Manning probably wouldn't be 100% by the time the evaluation came but as long as the progression of his recovery was promising then he would retain him.

If he feels Manning gives the Colts the best chance to win now, he will be resigned and he'll pick Luck/Griffin for the future.

    Absolutely Valid, Flash.

  5. Most of us go back to the "original" dot-com site. We don't start things here. We finish them. :flaming: J/K, J/K... someone's got to keep you guys in check. Heck, one of us is even a MOD!!! (Oh the horror!) You'll find that the vast majority of us are non-combative and just like a different slant on their football talk. I have several rival boards I frequent. Been spending a little more time here than usual of late, but mostly just by getting sucked into threads. Give it a chance. You'll find we're not as bad as you may think!

Cant talk for all Pats fan bud. You are different than others.

Our buddy Viridulant seems snappy all the time.

  6. Who said I was classy? I sure didn't. I'm fairly well-educated, mostly well-groomed, and my wife buys my clothes for me for the most part, but I never claimed to be classy. I just try to treat people well because that's what I would do in person, and I always keep in mind that you can't judge individuals without really knowing them. Brady was actually pretty lousy Sunday. Said so himself. He got them into the end zone when he needed to, but not with his arm. Not sure why that's relevant to this topic unless you're just baiting me, which I'm pretty sure is frowned upon in these parts. Jeez, it's gonna be a long couple of weeks around here I guess. You guys are really taking this pretty hard. Lighten up, it's only football.

Man, i am only messing with you.

  7. In fairness, if my intuition is correct and the OP just made this up, you're dang right I'm going to call him out on it! What if it happened to you? Wouldn't you take a photograph or at least report it? It costs thousands of dollars to paint a car, so this would be considered a significant crime of vandalism in most places. Personally I think you're all just buying in to something that you want to believe is true. Like I said, if we can get a photo and/or a link to a local police blotter or something, I'll gladly and humbly eat crow.

Here is my classy Pats friend, trying to defend his loyalty.

On a different note, How Clutch was Brady in the AFC championship game :)

  8. I know nothing about this man... and have not looked yet.

the last few Raven DC' s to get promoted..

    Rex Ryan ... NO THANKS

    Mike Nolan

    Marvin Lewis

Just sayin... is it the talent or the "coach"...

This is the very reason I am leary about a coordinator... because teh coordinator takes a "new" job and no longer does the one that got him promoted...

    Regardless.... I like the direction.

But their defense is good, offence we have Peyton hopefully

  9. I don't think this is going to go over so well.

I hope that we Hoosiers step up to the plate and are gentle hosts. That being said, the first time a Pats fan starts in about Peyton, with beer.... That could get ugly real quick.

My request to Indy natives ( I live in NY ), make sure they dont leave the town

  10. Brady said at the end of the game that he was awful. Unlike someone else, Brady always puts the blame squarely on himself. He ALWAYS has done that. Sorry if that doesn't fit into your image of Brady, but Brady is on a local radio station every Monday morning, and he's very honest.

Classic example, btw? Is that why Brady has led his team for the most wins in the playoffs all time, tied with Joe Montana? Brady struggled against the #2 defense in the NFL. I remember another QB whose defense was the main reason why his team won a SB.

All the SB win are defense, special teams and Bill Belichick. Of course Pats deserved to win but its not coz of Brady.

Lets not get blown over with Brady won playoffs, Brady own SB etc. Its a team win and your buddy sure sucked last night.

  11. Yes, we would have gone for it were the situation exactly the same. With that little time, down by 4, they would go for it. We've done it before.

But just for hypothetical-sake, we wouldn't have even been in that situation, because Manning never has trouble ripping the Ravens D apart anyway. They give Brady far more trouble than they have ever given Manning.

Not sure on that with our coaches. Sure, we have done it , once in a million.

  12. Well, keep in mind Dungy wasn't able to inherit a Warren Sapp, or a Derrick Brooks or John Lynch here like he was able to in Tampa.

Dungy is better than one coach and that is Jim Caldwell. Other than that, it was all Peyton.

  13. Pats made key plays when they had to, going for a 4th & 1 down 16-20 and getting it. Colts would have never gone for it or executed it vs that D-line of the Ravens.

At least Bostonians will not trash our city like the Baltimore folks will. The Baltimore folks' grudge is bigger.

Right that 4th and 1 was BB.

Our conservative Dungy or Caldwell never would have called it.

  14. The only shame to Peyton's career, is that he has been coached by passive coaches who have always been bend but don't break coaches, who have allowed teams to move the ball at will with these soft defensive schemes.I have always said and know one will change my mind,if Indy would have had a defensive minded aggressive HC,Peyton would have at least 3 maybe 4 rings. instead we have had go the hey Peyton my D just gave up another score in the final 2 minutes system, now go win the game and make me look good approach. Then Peyton pulls it off but , OH NO HE HAS LEFT 31 SECONDS ON THE CLOCK, 4 plays later we are watching teams celebrate on our field and hearing, gooly gee we will get em next year, hardly Peytons fault!

    Bingo

  15. This is a tough issue. Peyton will be 100% next season, but he is past his prime and he really doesn't have anything new to prove. I would keep and play him to see how it goes. Obviously if he is on fire we go with him. But I think it is smart to look at draft QBs and talent for our Defensive line. I am sick of our QBs getting clobbered. So don't bother having a QB at all if we can't protect him. See New England's Defensive line. Tom has all day to throw.

Past his prime huh. I bet he called and told you that. Speak for yourself.

And QBs are protected by Offensive Line not defensive line.
