  1. I agree. The Jags defense will be way better with the addition of Posluszny, Session and Landry. I'm still waiting to see how the Texans do at the 3-4 before making a judgement. You can get all the best players, but if the scheme isn't right or doesn't work for whatever reason, you're going nowhere.

Thats what I think of the Jags, not just their D, but overall they are a mess and it starts with the schemes. Its going to take a lot more than Clint "Totally average" Session to make me think of them as anything but a check-mark win. Landry's good, but he isn't that good. Not good enough to make Jax look like anything but a pig with some fresh lipstick.

  2. I wouldnt say we sit "pretty" really. I would say we have bodies that play these positions. Maybe we sit "ok in the face" at DB.

Did you just equate our DB's to being "butter faces"?

You know, shes pretty, everything "butter face" is pretty?

lol......I think we look good at DB. Its just, we never see them (starters) all out there at the same time. We got that kid that we drafted last year, the one who got hurt in preseason, can't remember his name. Haven't had coffee yet.

  3. This, cmgww!

You really think the Eagles are perfectly below the cap after signing the big names and still not needing to cut anyone? get real. They've figured out who needs to go and who needs to come in to make a big improvement in their game. We've been moaning about our defense for years.

How do you think Philly would handle a $100 million dollar QB? We have unique problems here in Indy. As well, it seems you forgot that we just exited a lockout only a week ago, and the Colts are facing, potentially, the biggest NFL contract ever signed.

  4. I've thought for years that he is wildly overrated and is coasting on his reputation.

I am very happy with the Colts finally working on the line with the draft but overall this off season has been horrible.

If I were Manning I would sign the franchise tender and then next year I would move to a team with a defense because Polian has this team in decline.

I am going to sue you buddy, for wasting the 6 seconds of my life that it took to read this. Expect to hear from my lawyer on Monday.

    PS durrr?

  5. People want to defend him? But can anyone tell me in the last five years how has he helped our weaknesses? Stoping the run? Running the ball? Return Man? If Manning gets hurt this team is in trouble.

Been hearing this tired bit for many years now. There is no such thing as a perfect team, which is what you seem to want. These darn imperfections got you mad at Polian? Are you sick of this success? In the last five years we have 2 AFC Championships and a Super Bowl. We go to the playoffs every year and you still want to complain about imperfections? C'mon.....really?

I'm no Polian fan-boy, but I ain't about to cast dispersions at him until this team falls into a multi-year slump.

  6. Peyton has always done this for the team. He has always restructured his contract when needed for the cap or made sure that it was "cap friendly".

He always gets crap for making a lot of money, but many years he was one of the least paid (salaried, not counting bonuses) players on the team.

I think it is obvious that he just wants to play and he wants a team that he can win another SB with. He wants the front office to be able to make that happen.

All too true. The man is too filthy stinkin rich to be greddy, if that makes any sense. I bet he wipes his babies butts with $100 bills.

I say kudos to him and I say :neener: to those who dissed him. rotfl :P

oh you women and your silly emoticons.

  7. My point is that the Colts(FO) seem to have a lackadaisical approach to the operations of the team. Whether that be true or not(it is simply my opinion). I have heard complaints for yrs. from other fans that even in training camp and preseason they seem to take an easy and sort of lazy approach to things. The same could be said about free agency and improving areas of weakness on the team.

What you call "lackadaisical", I call "calm and orderly". Everything is scripted and impulsive free agent shopping sprees aren't a habit which this organization engages in.

Im the 1st to admit that they have still made the playoffs every yr. for 9 straight yrs using this style

That's mighty big of you to admit something that is factual, and obvious. The Colts method of operation has produced an undeniably high level of excellence over a stunning duration. Frankly, I would be nervous if I saw them doing anything differently for fear that it might bring a different result.

  8. Trying to bring this thread back on track...how do you think this will affect Ocho's personality? Will be remain a strong tweeter? Will his TD dances still be what they were before? Part me of feels like Marvin Lewis was exactly what Ocho needed, Ocho wants to be out there and he doesn't want to be held back. Belichick will not have much of his tweeting and stuff like that, but Lewis put up with it. With that said, Ocho has way more respect for Belichick than he does for Lewis, he would never say anything like "Everything that comes out of Bill's mouth is nonsense", but he said it about his former coach.

The lunatics ran the asylum in Cinnci. Chad is still gonna be Chad, but I'm sure he'll bring it down a notch. Either that or he'll be chillin with his "buddy" Carson.

  9. and what are the odds a kicker gets in the HOF anyway, theres only been one kicker elected to the HOF in the entire history of the nfl

Vinni will be a HoF inductee. You can cash that check, it will happen. Only a few kicks, out of the countless thousands of kicks in NFL history, are revered by NFL fans. Vinni has 2 or 3 of them.

  10. Oh I'm sorry. I must have missed where I said it wasn't a good move? Please by all means tell me where I said anything negative about the acquisition?

    I didn't? Huh, fancy that.

What I replied to was the fact that a Pats fan, commenting on a Colts website why people aren't lavishing praise on the trade and why some are seeing it as a negative. My comment was directed at the irrational expectations that fans from a rival team would be unanimously praising of a trade involving a rival team.

    You seem angry?

This community has always welcomed NFL fans of all colors to join in. Their opinions are just as valid as ours. We even have a Pats fan for a community moderator (See JJ above).

What you stated above was essentially that Pats fans should shut up and stop bragging about their incredibly successful off-season. As far as I know, none of the pats fans demanded praise for their franchises acquisitions. I believe they were just expecting people to be realistic. If we (Colts) had acquired #85, I bet there would be some excitement on this board. Funny how that works, ain't it?

  11. What's up with the avatars? You sellin' franchises, ruksak?

Hey man, don't be hatin on the Pepe fan club. It makes you look jealous.

On compensation for Session....did all of the old rules on that carry-over in the new CBA? That's one area I didn't read on. With the new draftee salary schedule this looks like a great opportunity for us to pick up another player in April, 2012, most particulary under the 5M salary light. Could be a 10x fold return looking at our 4th round success rate.

Honestly, that stuff is for the lawyers. It just makes my head hurt to delve to deep into the numbers.

  12. lol at the naïveté here.

Peyton is JUST saying this now, instead of when Irsay said this stuff 6 months ago?

Complete and utter PR move. And many of you are falling for it.

What kind of publicity would Peyton garner by pretending to be flexible and then going back on his statements? What would he stand to gain by such a move?

I don't think people are being naive, we have nothing to gain or lose by believing his statements. Nor do I think he's hinting that he'll take the league minimum to help the team. Sounds more like he's posturing himself for incentive money than anything else.
