Of course this is purely hypothetical, but, Suh's impact is so extreme the trade would have to be a complete second mortgage on our future.
1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks in 2012 +++

Bc he isnt (Bullitt) that great. He average at best since Bethea saves him most of the time IMO. If you look at the game he misses lots of tackles.Plus whitner is exactly what we need a run stopping safety a la Bob while Bullitt doesnt have the body frame to work as run stopping safety. If we get whitner I say he starts next to bethea and bullitt comes in on special packages.
This is my opinion as well, but I'm not so sure that is Polian's opinion. My understanding is that they feel he's starter grade material.

This thing with his neck really bothers me. Peyton must be the toughest SoB on the planet. When he does get hurt, you don't hear about it until he gets surgery.
-
In contrast to those who were bashing Peyton, saying that it was all a PR trick that he said he would take less. ;)
I think the Colts fans were called naive for believing Peyton a couple of days ago (not by you, JJ).
I am sure that owners have "wetting matches" and the "whose player has the bigger...er...contract" contests all the time as well. Don't most guys in business?
You know what they say about guys with big contracts....
big wallets

Nope. I was sarcasming on your sarcasm.
:dancing:
I had a sargasm when I read that.

If you think about it, it's funny to say that about a 2-time pro bowler..... but it's 100% true. The guy is one of the best in the game but half of the TV announcers spend more time flip-flopping on how to pronounce his name than actually talking about his DB skills.
If you listen to the national media, you'd think we only had two players...Manning and Freeney.
Bethea's pops was a pretty decent baller as well.

Bethea was Pro Bowl in '07 & '09
Thanks, I was thinking he only made it once but wasn't sure. Most underrated FS in the game today IMO.

Manning set the tone for this professional, and respectful, relationship before he even got drafted. When he made it abundantly clear that he was intent on spending the entirety of his career on one team.
I don't see any of this as being anything other than solid irrefutable proof that Indy is the gold standard of classy sports franchises.

...a simple no would have done...great movie!
This has bugged me all day.....Billy Madison....FTW

When is the last time we had a pro-bowl DB?
Bob?

Okay, considering that Peyton was willing to take even less money than he signed for, does anyone else feel like pooping in a sock and smacking Jim Irsay upside the head with it for insisting that Manning make at least as much as Brady?
lulz @ pooping in a sock. You are a colorful fella, maynard.
Irsay is a man of principle. Perhaps this is why he insisted on a "fair" deal.
-
One thing to consider is we resigned Bullitt. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't sign, but if he does it definitely shores up our safety depth.
It was the Bullit signing that has me thinking we aren't looking for a starting safety any longer. Whitner fits the bill (pun intended) for a Colts safety, but with Bullit signed, this seems highly unlikely.
I feel the general consensus of the fans is....we want a new toy to play with.

Crazy week.
Yes, it has been a crazy week....and I love it. Football is back and in my 33 years of NFL fandom, I have never experienced such an odd frenzy of activity.
I'd like to think that Polian, senior and junior, have something up their collective sleeves for the team, and the fans. DT and CB might be the only areas where we see an acquisition. I was hoping for a proven return specialist as well. Not sure if anyone out there fits the description.

Lets not be too hard on Clint. He's just playing the game of buying into a new surrounding. The Jags made him a heckuva deal, and lets be honest, the Colts broke up with him. If you were Clint, you would feel a bit disgruntled, right?
-
Sour grapes....

So the clock doesn't strike midnight for 5 years. Bittersweet.
I'm going to call this the Colts doomsday clock.
-
I don't know whether to be excited or.....?
This may be a move to free money for Manning.
Maybe some of the posters here have been right all along about the Colts seeking a veteran replacement?
Maybe we will * up an UDFA?
Wow....Don't even friggin tell me we cut lose a talent like that for Manning's deal.
-
im sure he meant to say chris polian...right???
No. I doubt he's aware. Being that he's so misinformed, I would say he's prolly consistently ignorant of facts.
-
Ummm, why? He is about as bad a running back as there is. There were some good free agents that can actually rush the ball, Cedric Benson, Reggie Bush, Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown but no the Colts stick with this guy, brilliant! The Colts never do anything to add talent to the team, just pickup guys when half the team is benched with a headache!
Your name says it all

I wonder if Chad could ride an angry Belichick for a full 8 seconds?
-
Heard it last night, great news!!!
I would have been surprised had they not made every effort to keep him. Good thing he didn't get on Twitter and act a fool when we drafted Brown, like Bush did over the Ingram drafting.
-
No I don't think so! Successful Franchise is winning the superbowl not going to the playoffs and go home, a lot of teams does that and continue to do this every year is not success if the tem's goal is the super bowl.
What are you talking about? Did you just start watching football in the last 5 years or....?...??
What frickin team wins the SuperBowl every year? Success isn't defined by those terms.
-
I've been wondering about all of them except for Manning who seems to be the only one on the team who is covered on NFL Network. Thanks for the update bayone
Thats so true. The rest of the team could be on fire and they wouldn't report it.

I think I would stop eating shrooms.
What, you mean being a GM on a Madden video game isn't like the real thing?
Manning says he'll be a Colt his entire career, won't play for another team

I mentioned this last night as part of the reason why Irsay insisted on a fair deal for Manning to at least match Brady's deal. This sort of loyalty is all too rare in today's professional sports.
