That's one way to look at it but the longer we wait the more time the Browns and Giants have to look at their options and when and if they want to draft a QB and at what pick.  Either one of them could work a trade with the Bills as well.  IMO the quicker we move the better.  3 is a great pick and I think you take advantage of it especially with the Bills and their obvious desire to get a top pick. We could lose out on our advantage if we wait " as long as possible" whatever that unknown day is.  Which in itself could also come before draft day and the Bills work a deal with the Giants or Browns.  I would rather not take the gamble and beat them to it before they have figured out what they are going to do.

well regardless I don't think they will do anything until at least the day before or on draft day, same with any other top 5 draft pick.

OMG, Blount is on the market again!? I swear if the Pats resign him, I'm throwing up. How much more does that guy have to prove before teams realize he deserves guaranteed top money?

Blunt and Mack now that would be a good combo

I think we are definitely trading back and there will be more than one suitor.  If it's Buffalo, and I think it will be,  it will be for both of their 1's and 2's at a minimum.  Forget the value charts . The Bills are most aggressive team now.  They want a QB and they can easily pay a premium.  I don't think we will wait until draft day to do it either.  We are going to want the picks in place so we have plenty of time to work out other trade scenarios up or down when the draft starts.  The Browns and Giants have a lot more strategizing to do. Therefore we should make the trade asap after the FA frenzy is over.  The Bills should be extremely happy with the 3rd. pick.  And we will be happy too.  It's a win win and I would get it done quickly.

I'm all for the trade back but not asap like you are suggesting unless its for all of Buffalo's remaining draft picks which will not happen. I just feel like the longer we hold on to it the more expensive it will become, and we will still have time to make other deals in the mean time. That's why you shop #3 around but hold onto it as long as possible.

I think the Colts are doing their due diligence, and also should be interested.

I think with how Barkley tested, he will go #1 to the Browns and the Giants will select Chubb at #2. That leaves us with Fitzpatrick at #3 or trade down to land Nelson and get an extra pick(s).

The Browns know we will not select a QB, so if they stay at #4, they will have their pick. I don't think the Giants will select at QB either. If we trade the #3 spot, the Browns may be interested in moving up to choose their guy. This way, the get Barkley and the QB of their choice.

I would be stoked with that. That would be advantageous for the colts to do, gives us not only extra(multiple picks*) as we can rob them of an extra one or two, but it would also allow us to turn around and do the same thing with the #4 draft pick gaining more draft stock and still getting Nelson for the line and then more pieces to this puzzle later in the draft. If we could do that and walk away 12+ picks this year then damn!!!

You are dreaming. I have no idea what Grigson was smoking when he drafted this guy in the 2nd round. I was one of the ones who immediately said that there is no way he should have been drafted even close to that high. His tape was mostly bad and apparently Grigson thinks because a guy runs 4.4 he's automatically a great CB, probably the toughest position for a guy to be in besides QB.

That's the thing I think Grigson liked speed a little to much when it came to certain positions bc obviously linebacker wasn't one of those positions. But at Safety's or WR he was like speed I see speed throw away the tape did you see that speed!

Well actually von was in my list lol do you believe Broncos would give him up to get cousins? That definitely will not happen tho. In case you guys havnt taken notice the new trend in tge nfl is trading picks for great or upside type players. See for instance new england, rams, redskins, eagles. I read an article stating that is an actual trend and we might see more and more of that to come.

ya the colts have tried this member the t-rich trade worked out amazing!!!!

That is the key right there, don't play off too much, make your physicality and size matter with bumping at LOS. QBs like Brady, Rodgers, Brees and Big Ben throw Cover 2 beaters in their sleep by looking off safeties constantly. Guys like Antonio Brown, this scheme would be better suited to take away if your free safety is up to snuff.

You have to be able to jump the ball like Bethea did vs Brady or get depth in coverage as a MLB for that throw over the MLB to TE or WR (Brackett did vs Brady in 2007, I think) because those QBs will test you constantly till you make plays, and sometimes even after you make plays, like a 3-pt shooter continuing to shoot 3s despite his misses. Bethea picked off Brady in 2006, 2007, and 2009 I think, whenever we played the Patriots. Unless you are Ed Reed, Hooker is going to be constantly tested in help if we play this scheme.

I take hooker being tested any day he is a play maker!!

I’m going to point of the fact the guy himself has admitted to forgetting plays at the line of scrimmage. Also the fact the organization has failed him in the past 7 years. No cause for concern as you say.

I don't know if you are right or wrong but when has Luck admitted to forgetting plays at the line of scrimmage

Sharps' tweet suggested Gore is fine in quarters 1-3 and wears down in the 4th.  He still has some gas in the tank... which is why I say the only reason I see us bringing him back is to help Mack develop another year and if he greatly lessens his work load (i.e., becomes a 2 down back or a rotational back).  He has already stated multiple times he knows he's going to have to share the load to remain in this league.

I think we can find better production else where and sharps tweets suggest we have better play calling quarters 1-3 but that doesn't change the fact that I think Gores time has come and gone with the colts.

Sorry to bring this subject back, but this is why I sided with Grigson during the so-called Grigson meddling-gate.

If I was a GM that had Xs and Os knowledge and saw my offense play like this, I'd wonder why my HC wouldn't step in and do something.  As a former DC, wouldn't you advise your OC that the defense knows what's coming? RG couldn't have had much confidence in Chuck, yet also had no power to fire him.

Again, I'm assuming this predictability was evident before last season.  Same HC and same OC.

haha this was meant to be more of a joke, personally I'm glade both of them are gone and they both had major faults. RG wasn't a good judge of talent and it has shown in his drafts, CP wasn't a good coach or developer of talent and it showed in the teams play. double edge sword with those two and it didn't end well for the colts

our I’m shocked that there seems to be no interest in post.  With all the talk throughout the season about about how bad our LBs were.  I thought for sure there would be some comment be it good, bad, or indifferent about the new hire.  I honestly don’t know the guy, but I hope he improves our LBs (especially the inside).

Me too, to be honest. This forum can create some dumb topic and everyone and their mothers mother have to chime in and this one barely gets 10 replies especially since our LB core sucks.... Mind blowing

I'm not too concerned about the the LB coach. Of course I would want the best possible,  but our new DC was a LB coach. I think he will spend some time in the LB room and also have more to say in FA and the draft than the new LB coach.

Didn't they say that about our last DC

Dome vs. outdoor differences were much greater when it was astroturf vs. grass.  Today, with field turf, the differences aren't so great, especially considering many outdoor teams have gone to field turf.

Also, what is a dome team these days?  Many of the indoor stadiums have retractable roofs and the new LA and Vegas stadiums will have clear plastic roofs - natural light and field turf, just like in Seattle or New England.

Weather, wind, rain, snow, cold, heat.... that's the difference. even dome teams with retractable roofs can control what the outdoor teams cant by opening or closing the roof, even if the outdoor teams are playing on field turf or natural grass. Also fun fact Arizona is a dome team that plays on natural grass and not field turf.
