  1. This kind of friction happens in most situations.     Friction between the HC and the GM happens all the time.    This is NOT something new or should it be shocking to anyone.

Pagano's job is on the line.    Grigson has made a number of serious missteps that have prevented this team from being better.  That's on Grigson.

As for the getting out butt kicked by better teams -- that was last year.

And as far back as the year before last we beat Seattle (SB winner) Denver (SB runner-up) SF (in the '12 SB)  and playoff team Kansas City -- twice.

So, I think the losing to better teams issue is way overblown and very misleading.

Things will all play out this year.    It worked in Dallas last year.    Jones didn't extend Garrett, and Garrett led Dallas to a 12-4 season.     If we have a very good year this year,  then Pagano will be back.    If not, he'll be coaching elsewhere next year.

Yes...     I think BOTH these guys jobs are on the line.    ....      Tension on ALL sides is where all this is coming from.    Grigs and Pags both could have done better looking back.   Now all the chips are on the table.   If it goes south...    One will look to blame the other...       Welcome to the world of "expectations" .. .

  2. Why didn't this team just draft L Collins in the late rounds?  I will never understand that...     at a position on paramount need?

Once Luck is paid this team is going to have to take chances on iffy playfers.     or ....   it they just wont get over the hump.   Not nearly enough young talent on this D.      And OL for that matter.

    Oh well...

  3. What would anyone expect their starting QB to say?

But RG3 has made his bed and now he has to lay in it...   He put himself in this winless position.

He is average as the day is long ..   He will be a career backup or out of the league in 2 years...   depends on his EGO.

  4. That is the essence of the worries at RT...    Mew is NOT athletic enough to get it done against NFL pass rushers.   He can have all the technique in the world...    but better talent will get him every time.    And it did at OSU...    I watched him every game.  He is a G.    He is stiff...    And Castonzo looked just as bad.   but he will giet it together.

G  ...   he is a stud...    T?    We will see this week, if he struggles again the Colts are really going to be in panic mode.   Because there is NO DEPTH on this OL.

hmmmm   we could have a starting OL of Castonzo, Incognito, Holmes/Harrison, Mew, and COLLINS at RT?

BUT...      I cannot bebieve this FO has been so arrogant as to think the guys on board are the answer?   Just really poor.

It will cost this team in the end.     With Luck getting hurt.....       I hope they run every down against STL.     Buffalo will be bad enough    If Mew is the RT on opening week Allen will be draped to his side ALL GAME LONG and that is not the vision this staff had when they drafted PD instead of ......

Al Davis ...   "just win baby" ...     The sooner Grigs adopts this attitude  the better.

I went back and watched Mewhorts 28 offensive snaps and on the play he gave up a sack that was just do to poor footwork and technique, If you watch on that same play how Castonzo handled his man Castonzo pretty well got flat facing the sideline as the rusher charged, Also Mewhorts hand placement was slow...He got surprised I think Mcphees power acceleration.....Also Mewhort cannot give up a direct path to the QB like he did to the inside

The very next play was just a case of Mewhort getting beat by a inside out move and poor footwork

By my count 4 missed blocks on 28 offensive snaps.....Good for 85%.......Generally O Linemen like that to be higher according an article I read by a former recent O Lineman but not bad, Has to improve

  5. yep, after sleeeping for half the day and watching the Luck plays again...   Mewhort did calm down, but jury is still out.     It is pre season.    And Indy is simply NEVER any  good at games that don't count.    BUT dang Luck getting hit early in games that dont count bothers me.

We shall see...     the skill positions are there...      Gotta figure it out at C and G.

I thought Montori Hughes played well, didn't he?

Mewhort, I will give him a pass. He settled down after the first series, IMO, though he did get some help with TE/RB chipping. If it starts hurting us, it may be time to put back our playoff O-line unit back with Reitz at RT.

  6. One area is just really concerning...  and it is the interior of the OL....

the Colts might be the WORST pre season team in NFL history...   BUT ...  D is an issue and the OL is DEFINATELY one.

Andrew Luck can simply not get hit the way he is getting TAGGED straight up the GUT or he will be on IR by year end.    REALLY GRIGS...  A WR first .................................?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    OK....

  7. Yep..  coulda had LC on the CHEAP...     and at a position this team NEEDS..

yeah i was baffled by the fact grigson did not make an attempt at La'el Collins after the investigation in Louisiana was over. nobody made an attempt except dallas. as far as mathis goes, that is another one, Grigson i figured would have tried his hardest to get him in indy being he was coming out of philly.

  8. Sure lets release Werner and let Rex pick him up and turn him into a "productive player" ...

This staff needs to think out side the box...   I get the jist of their mentality with the Trent fiasco...     They refuse to get creative...  Lets hope this changes...   or coaching staff will..

There is talent on this team but one must know how to utilze it...

The time is now.     This O is ready...      D?     Go Blitz crazy cant hurt...   if the standard D unit can't get it done.

We will see.   Week one against Buffalo is huge.

  9. Coby dropping bunnies....      I get my shotgun out and aim every time...  heehe

That guy has dropped more wide open balls than any player I have EVER WATCHED ...     and he is going on year 4?    If he is not a pal of Luck he would be on thin ice ...   JMO

    Big year for both TE's...
