    getting ahead of myself, but im thinking with AC, the TEs, and andrew still needing to get paid, freeman is not gonna get the deal he wants and the colts know that and then theres jackson's contract correct me if im wrong can be cut next year and not suffer too bad cap wise. so the colts can already be planning to replace them with irving and moore

    DEFENSE?     RUIN will happen if Castonzo geos down ...    This team is really hurting then

     

    OL and DL are what wins games and once again the Colt wizards think that the QB needs all the toys.... 

     

    When will we learn?    It will be a very interesting season.

     

    And I know ...    Indy has "tried" to draft D...  but pretty much failed badly.  

    This defense is 2 injuries from absolute ruin. We have no depth, and I'm shocked that the typically astute members of this site aren't bringing this up.

    He has been disappointing for a 1st round draft pick...    BUT I  did not EVEN SEE Newsome during the pre season>  And NOBODY is crying about his production.      By the way the GREAT Rick V pointed out that 4 of Newsome's sacks he ran untouched to the QB.      ....     just saying.  

     

    I am confident in the moves that have been made lately Indy is going to go with more of a 43 look?   At least I hope they have a plan...  I'm starting to wonder?

     

     

    People need to rewatch some games. Werner was one of our better defenders in the first part of the season last year. He faded badly for some reason, perhaps injury. Hughes never had one good game for us. Lets see how he does this year before treating him like a leper.

    I disagree...    Hughes was given a HUGE shot to show something ...   He could not even do it on ST...    remmember the JETS playoff game?   That was a huge whifffff..    And very costly.

     

    Werner has been a dud ...       but he IS NOT a 34 OLB....   he is a end.       thats on Grigs..    And the staff, they have got to start getting creative.      Instead of trying to DRILL round pegs into SQUARE holes. 

     

    Trent, Vick, the totlal overhaul of the DL one week before the start of the season?   This is it for this staff and FO..   Put up or ...

    More like Jerry Hughes 0.5. Hughes showed more flashes here than Werner has.

    i think what this staff is wanting is an interior that cam move, SLANT..  

     

    Hughes and Chap were slugs...   I like the direction...   

    As one poster has already noted the idea of changing our defensive scheme one week before the start of the season seems.........  completely bizarre and unlikely to me.

     

    I've never heard of this happening.    Not saying it hasn't,  just saying I'm not aware of it happening.

     

    I'm open to the idea,  but it will be interesting to see if Manusky/Pagano confirm this........

    im telling you indy needs this mind set..     Pags and Grigs came in "talking" about it...      and 4 years later?   Luck will run this O.

     

    the Fact this OL has not been addressed is comical.      They let Gos go and ......     whiff after whiff..     

     

    The pressure is on this staff..     Don't kid yourself.   Irsay is in WIN NOW mode.     thus the tension?

    Saban as the Colts coach and Hillary or Trump in the White House all in the same year? Take me now, Lord!

    Football is about talent.    QB first...  then Winning up front..    I have said this on this board since I have been hear...   until INDY gets TOUGH up front on both lines they wont get to the mountain top..    

     

    Football is very basic actually.   

     

    I hope the Saben rumors are true...    He is a dictator...  That demands tough D and a RUNNING GAME. .....  that is what this team NEEDS..

    Eh football is a numbers game at its most basic core, Throw it where they aint, Run it where they aint, Run it to the weak side of the defense (The side the least amount of defensive players)

    Yep ..  it's football ..    1 gap 2 gap...  and on and on ..

     

    BOTTOM line can one play football.     And follow their assignments?   If that happens this DL will be OK...     if not our MLB'rs are not good when stressed.      

     

    I'm thinking rolling out a 43 is the way to go.     Unless Mathis comes back STRONG this team has NO 34 OLB?   That is STUD.

     

    Thats an issue..   

     

    Getcha popcorn ready...

    I was told when I joined this website more than 3 years ago that there would be no math!

     

    When it comes to football....    I HATE math!       :giveup:
