  1. Oh I know how durable Gore has been....

but he is human.         and a RB in the NFL....

I think you're going to be surprised....   very surprised.

Gore has totaled 250 carries in almost every one of his 11 seasons.   The man is a machine.   There were two main years he had an injury and only played in 11 games, and his rookie year.    Otherwise,  count on 250.  He's right around that figure every year.   That's only 15-16 per game.

200 carries is only 12.5 per game.    If that's all Gore is getting then we've wasted our money.   We did not sign him for his pass blocking.  It's a nice addition,  but his primary job is to run between the tackles...

    Here's his profile....

    2014  SF  16  16  255  1,106  4.3  52T  4  11  111  10.1  55T  1  2  2

  2. Britt has been around a long time, his best year was his second...      9 TD's     he just can't stay in the game.     Oh and the year he scored 9 times it was in 12 games.

IF he is back all the way he is a difference maker.      But odds are against him...  thus the small guaranteed amount of cheez.

I'm saying it right now. Watch out for the Rams this year. Nick Foles is a good young QB. He's got some nice weapons with Quick, Britt, Austin, Bailey, Cook, and then Mason at RB. Quick was breaking out last year before he got hurt. Look for him to make a name for himself this season and become a number 1 WR. But yeah, Britt had his best year this past season. He's worth 7mill per in todays market, and they probably think he'll be even better with Foles. NFC West is going to be fun to watch.

  3. IF AJ, Gore, and Henny don't "come through" for at least THIS season then Grigs may very well be shopping for a new job.

I like what Indy has done but damn...       These three ALL have ton of miles on the tread.            But they are only one or 2 year rentals.    But Indy has to get that production out of them or Grigs is probably gone.

Oh and not to mention the little bit of pressure on him to HIT on this DRAFT, not just the first rounder...  but he needs to get some depth on this team.

Just saying...    It's not as easy as it appears.....

Denver adds a guard Miami cut after an injury-plagued 2014..

    Started in 2013..

He gets a 2-year deal..drafted by Houston when Kubiak was there in 2010''local favorite from Colorado State

Broncos are clearly shopping in the bargain bin....TE....safety... DL.....OG..4 low-price pickups

  4. Gore was signed primarily because he is a STUD pass blocking back, and he is a GREAT inside T runner...   but he is 32 years old to expect him to carry a load of even 200 carries is ridiculous in my mind.   Indy will be drafting another back.   I would bet my house on it.      And I look for Gore to settle into a 3rd down / obvious passing down role.

If Indy tries to ride him hard he won't make it past week 8.  He will be uses same as Brad was.      I would actually not mind seeing Brad back...         Anyone know if that is any kind of option?  If  not even more of a sign this team is drafting a RB.

Tev Coleman please...      in the second...     PLEASE BE THERE   If not Indy will get one.

I don't think our RB depth chart is going to be a tough one to figure out this year. Yes Gore will be the #1, that is the easy part, from there it's anyone's gig I think for the backup and #3 role.

It could easily go in any of the following orders depending on a number of factors.

Gore > Ballard > Boom > Mid to late round draft pick

Gore > Mid to late round draft pick > Ballard > Boom

Gore > Boom > Ballard > Mid to late round draft pick

    You get the idea....

I think this year's camp is going to be very interesting in deciding who gets that backup role. Ballard showed real promise before going out on two season ending non contact injuries, who knows if he gets even close to where he was health wise. Boom showed potential for someone we claimed off waivers and of course this is a deep RB draft class this year.

What order do you think it will end up in? It's anyone's guess at this point really, but it's always fun to speculate.

  5. Indy just released a guy who refused to stay "at a target weight" ...      so Grigs is expected to go get another who has paid over 300 g in fines for being a fat butt?   Knighton is talented but he is eating his way out of the league.

i DON'T think Indy had any interest.

You saying you don't think Knighton would have come to Indy for the same contract or maybe another half million?

  6. See the Mark Barron trade....    he was rated and picked way higher...and traded for a 4 and a 6.

If a team is ready to cut ties they give a guy away for a Gatorade bucket.

Just please INDY stay the heck away from L Collins...    I just watched the EPIC thumping OSU put on the mighty Tide again and that "box" safety got blasted from every direction on the field.   He is going to be vastly over rated.     Stay AWAY.

Now Grant for OSU is a guy Indy could land in maybe the third or 4th.    He is a baller.

Vaccaro is horrible. Also their price tagged would be higher than a 5th for him.. You don't draft a kid in the top 20 and then trade him for a 5th two years later no matter how bad he is.

  7. Sunday night @ Buff, or @ Pitt...       OR...      NE @ INDY...    this is the one I see happening on Thursday night.

Indy has opened the "early" NFL pre season odds as a 5 to 1 favorite to win it all.    Vegas likey ....     NFL will showcase them.

NE at Indy would be a juicy season kick off.

  8. What I see happening with Luck is the same thing NE has done with Brady...     be playing him after he is done playing ball to keep his number manageable.  And I agree TY will get around 10m per,  Is he worth it?   Who knows but Indy is better off with him.  Obviously....

I am really looking forward to seeing how Moncrief shows this season.

And I do NOT WANT Indy overpaying for Fleener and Allen.

I told everyone here before and I will say it now, T.Y. will end up getting at least $10 mil. per year, hands down.  Chiefs overpaid for Maclin, Dolphins overpaid for Mike Wallace and they are all realizing it now.

Cobb took $10 mil. per year knowing he gets to play with Rodgers, T.Y. will do the same. I am thinking 6 years $60 mil. with $20-25 mil. at least guaranteed.

Luck will not demand more than $20 mil. per year. I know he can get it but I doubt he breaks the bank for the Colts. I see Luck getting 7 years $130-140 mil. with probably $50-60 mil. guaranteed, somewhere in that range and along the way, plenty of re-structuring.

  9. I think he has tried to address it, any D is going to cave in when their O is not doing ANYTHING.    Hopefully AJ will make teams pay for double teaming TY...   and DM as 3 could be wicked.         Adding Henny will help greatly also.

This draft will lilely be BPA first and then heavy on D.

Think grigson needs to b shown the last two games against the pats. Think he forgot what they did to us and why we couldn't make it past the good teams

  10. Gore's value will become OBVIOUS in one specific area once games start getting going. ..  He is an EDGE Type pass blocker.

Gore will be a mainstay on third down, and I totally expect Indy do draft an early down back.

We shall see.      But I actually LOVE this move, just need to spend a 2 or 3 on Frankies replacement.

Check out Gore's durability (knock on wood) vs DeMarco Murray's over the last 4 years, that is why you have to like what we paid.

However, the long term young and hungry ones might still end up coming from the draft. So, I won't dismiss the possibility of a wide out or RB that is of value in rounds 3 and beyond.

  11. The Colts are going "all in NOW" they are NOT risking their future ...      on OLD players they are shoving in on the NOW with a few older dudes.      NE does it every year....   Can't beat em ... join em....

Only issue I have is the D still needs work ...  and a lot.       I do like Cole tho.    But the O will be DYNAMIC  And when Indy adds TC it will be damn near nuclear.

    JMO

  12. T Knighton has went from around 310 to pushing 400 lbs...         He paid over 300g in fines for his weight.      He is TRich 2.0

PASS.....Del Rio did not WANT him....

Absolutely ridiculous that we didn't put in an offer since that's all he got. All the guy does is shut down the run, and give more interior rush than you'd think is possible for a 350 lb man. Well I guess a guy being a little fat in the offseason is good enough reason not to sign him.

Can't wait to see Kendall Langford tear it up this year.

  13. Chip can be the HIGHEST paid coach in the NFL.       and if he goes 4-12 this season after all the "questionable" moves he has made this offseason.    I think it is HIGHLY debateable whether he gets another chance.    He throws another losing season in the mix...    He will be coaching somewhere in the PAC or SEC.

He is on watch.. .  don't kid yourself.     "autonamy"  only means it is easier to get your butt fired faster.

I think he wan't his buyout....      heheheeeee      it won't be long.

There is little doubt in my mind that Chip Kelly's contract is 100% guaranteed, with no offset language. He turned the Eagles down at first, and they came back three weeks later on their knees. He's probably one of the five highest paid coaches in the NFL, definitely top ten. And he was given virtual autonomy over the roster. His superiors aren't panicking like everyone else is. They're letting him do the job he's being paid to do.

  14. Giving Ryan Mathews and D Murraly guaranteed dough is straight up insane.   And Bringing in Bradford?

Chip K is really pushing the envelope here.        Talent wins in the NFL, not systems.       Not even close.     Barry Switzer could come back and get hired somewhere and run the triple option and would win IF he had the horses.

I don't get it.   I really don't.    they let Macklin, DJ, Shady, Henny, and several others go ...   to bring in ...   who again?  A MASH unit?   this will be incredibly entertaining to watch from a far.

I actually think this Murray signing was a straight up panic mode move by the "Front Office"...  AKA Chip Kelly ..    to try and calm everyone down.

And player comments who are leaving this team are not flattering.        Oh well...    I guess it could be worse in Indy?   Naaa..   we still got Luck.

  15. I would really like to know what kind of guraranteed money Arizona gave Redding.    he was without question Indy's most disruptive inside rusher last year.      Puzzling...     Bring in Langford for basically one year for 2.5m  and let Redding walk?

    Ok Grigs....

This draft Grigs had better really hit on at least 3 solid D contributors.

  16. He played SPECTACULAR for his age last season.       LAST SEASON...     Indy cut ties with Reggoe. Red is a tougher call but at least they are not going the loyalty route.

Every thing this team has done thus far I love for a ONE year run.         Maybe 2???     But with Luck Indy will only "reload" not "rebuild" ...

    His leadership will be missed

  17. If he wants to win and still get his $$$    He is coming to Indy.

Irsay is going to make him a very serious offer.

    Ahhhhh.....    got it!

I didn't quite understand the option bonus thingy....

(Once upon a time I was actually good in math...    but once I had to start taking off my shoes and socks so I could count on my toes that was a game changer!!)

Now the questions are....   will we make this type of offer....   and will it be good enough.

I think the Florida teams with $$$ to spend have the inside track because of no state tax.   I've read where that could mean an additional $13 million for Suh.     That seems like a huge hurdle to overcome for any other team not in Florida.

  18. Have you never watched this guy play?   He could play DE in a 43 IF Detroit asked him to...   He is an OVER the T,G,C type of DL that is a NIGHTMARE to game plan for.     He is a poor mans Reggie White.         and I'll take that EVERY day of the week.   He demands a double or triple team EVERY down.    He will make Art Jones a perenial All Pro.     He just makes everythng easier for every other player on the DL.

If Indy can make it happen GET HIM.     The QB is here, if Suh can get in the fold and stay in the game ....    Look out for the Colts.

I really think this has a GREAT chance of happening..

Where does Suh play in a 3-4?

  19. DB is NOT an area of weakness..  ...       Butler has been VERY VALUABLE to the team in his role HERE.

Butler was a throw away in NE as a cover corner.     He has found a home in Indy and I think both sides will make it work.

Butler is really good in the slot without a GREAT pass rush..       as are Vontae and Toler.   Get these guys some help in the DL and it is on.       Don't be surprised to see C Williams brought in also.

Pass rush happens and all of a sudden everyone looks SPECTACUALR.

    Colts

    We can't let this happen
