  1. I happy looking at stats for players but some people seem to live by them. You could probably pick apart a stat for most players but in particular when a player has spent his career with mediocre talent around him I prefer to see what he's got in our uniform. And I believe Jacksons stats were better in previous years against the run too.

And he had enough options to suggest other teams saw value in recruiting him.

  3. The problem is not that we couldn't make an offer but there are 2 other problems.

    1. The transition tag is 10 million. I believe we would have to make an offer in excess of 10 million. (Maybe I'm wrong.) The current highest paid center is making 8 million. Mack just isn't worth that much money.

    2. The Browns are one of a few teams that have more cap space then we do. They can match easily any offer we make for Mack. Which means we would have to make an offer that the Browns are just not willing to pay.

Basically in order to get him we would have to pay him Franchise QB level money. He's just not worth that much. Besides there are other centers on the market that are options. They arn't as good as Mack but they would be vast improvements over Satele. And they won't cost nearly as much as Mack.

10 mill is a heck of a lot for a C yeah, but some people might say the ability the keep Luck upright and less harrassed might be priceless. At some put a C is gonna be paid that well. Personally I agree with the belief for now we can get a bit less of a quality C but for less money upgrading of Satele.

  4. I was watching the drafting of Luck again on YouTube recently and I feel its a good reminder of how far we've come. The telling comments from there were how the Colts weren't a very good football team, the offense resembled an expansion team, no TE to speak of, an 'aging' Reggie Wayne at WR, a LT and C and that's about it! In the grander scheme of things we've come along way.

  5. MVP -Robert Mathis

Offensive player of the year - Andrew Luck

Defensive player of the year - Robert Mathis

    Outstanding Leadership - Reggie Wayne

Best Game - vs KC wildcard playoff

Most improved player - Coby Fleener

    Best Acquisition - Gosder Cherilus

Biggest Suprise - Erik Walden (Didn't suck as many thought he would pre season)

    Breakout player - Griff Whalen

    Costliest injury - Reggie Wayne

  6. I've no particular knowledge of the situation regarding talk amongst coaches of moving AC to the right side or when these conversations happened. But how does that then fit in the fact we went and made Cherilus one of the best paid RT out there?

  7. You've got to wonder if thats been done before. Maybe if the Pats had of won the SB then we could have claimed bragging rights over number 2 spot in league by way of beating Bronos, 49ers and Seahawks in regular season ;-) I'll be rooting for Peyton and the Broncos as not only will Peyton win another deserved ring he'll also probably save Richard Shermans life as the guys head might explode fuelled by this mouth if the Seahawks win. Yeah you might be the 'best corner in the league' Sherman but Andrew and TY spent a game making you look average! :-) :-)

  8. Well my story is a strange one I guess. I'm from England and used to watch the NFL on a highlights programme in the late 80's and early 90's as a kid. As you do when you're a kid you look for a reason to follow a team and at the time I had a passion for horse racing so I leant towards that theme. By coincidence around the same time I loved an American tv show called eerie Indiana. So the Colts seemed a perfect match. Must admit to losing track for a number of years as it was the days before the Internet or cable tv etc it made it so hard to keep in touch with anything across the Atlantic. But once I got back into the NFL as an adult I picked up where I left off with the colts.

  9. So outside of Indianapolis being a connection why are you a fan of the Colts? Even more curious regarding fans outside of the States like myself. Apologies if there's been a thread already regarding this, feel free to direct me to it.
