  1. Yes Griff was to blame for the actual botch of the play but for me the bigger picture is why it was even called in the first place in the field position and with the scores as they were. The last few years there have been plenty of conservative plays called when we could have had a realistic chance of converting a fourth down so of all the times to get adventurous in one of our biggest regular season games beggars belief really.

  2. No doubt a tough schedule but the panthers results haven't come against any real decent teams so far so I feel their standing is a little padded so far. Atlanta a bit more impressive with results against the eagles and cowboys (although neither of those two have looked as good as last year)

  3. I'm torn on the result of the game. On the one hand I expected that this might be a loss on the road when the schedule was released, it's a tough place to go for any team and had the extra bite of being RR first game in charge of the Bills. On the other hand there were some frustrating elements to our game that plauged us last year still happening. We start out slow get behind, abandon the run game and stick it all on Lucks back throwing bombs down field (in that weather too!). We have some good talent at RB now yet it seemed the coaches panicked and forgot them. Mistakes and turnovers at key times continue also. I think we're in danger of becoming too predictable when chasing a game. The killers for this game was giving up the TD just before half time which changed the game and the 2 Dorsett fumbles costing us field position and a FG. I thought the D line was solid and I'm optimistic with Parry, Anderson and Langford. As said the ilb position worries me. The o line wasn't as bad as some are suggesting imo against the bills D. This game was also a good reminder of what we'd look like with a QB that's not as good as Luck. He had a bad game from his usual standards and the results were there to see which is a worry. We need a far more balanced team that are able to carry a QB if needed. Having expected the loss from this one I anticipated the next 4 as wins and I think there can be few excuses for a serious SB contender if that's not the case against those teams. I'm keeping the faith and hoping Paganos hot seat doesn't get hotter!

  4. Werner must be brought up in around 80% of the threads on here claiming he's useless regardless of if the topic relates to him or not. The biggest issue here is he's being hung out to dry because of his first round pick status and imo it's clouding peoples opinion of a decent squad player. Yes he's had some rough times but he's 2 years into his career and still learning. Does he need to show progress?! Sure he does but I was shocked to see the amount of posters who believed he should be cut this year. I understand the disappointment in relation to his draft pick but the guy can still do a job and his thread whipping boy status goes overboard at times. I'm not saying he will ultimately turn into a great player just that currently he's not the terrible player some insist.

  5. I'm genuinely suprised he hasn't been cut by now tbh. He hasn't played in 2 years and I'm not sure what they're expecting out of him this year for the 3.5mil. He's obviously going to make the final rosta or he would have been cut by now. Obviously a mute point now but what pay did Mathis end up taking and surely if you're going to take a gamble with money he was a good option in these circumstances.

  6. Wasn't expecting much from the o line to begin with because of the reshuffling this year and it will take time to gel. Mewhort is going to have his ups and downs moving to RT. The biggest plus this year will be if we can keep a consistent healthy line that learn to play with each other.

  7. Given that the balls were tested before the game and deemed acceptable what was meant to be the next course of action for the league to prevent this happening? Are we suggesting that should have outright told the Pats not to deflate the balls?

Wow. I am surprised by this statement from you. The league was given a heads up about the Pats and the air pressure and did nothing until half time of a title game. If you are fine with that than I guess our discussion is over.

  8. I think if we were going to get a safety in FA we would have done so by now as the decent ones who were available have already been taken. I think we're going draft with safety.
