  1. I am constantly amazed at the amount of people on here that know the ins/outs of every player in the NFL. How you all aren't GM's I'll never know.

Great post!  I love it when people make comments not in their opinion but rather as a fact. Like "This is a depth signing" or "He won't be on the team next year", like they have some kind of inside information. It is never "In my opinion, he won't be on the team next year".  Always factual.

  2. Though the defense had five 3 and outs I'm tired of opposing quarterbacks having ALL DAY in the pocket for most of the game. Other teams at least get pressure on the quarterback and force them to throw quick. They're are too many games where the defense alone has given up too many points.

We definitively need more of a pass rush.  It is amazing how good secondaries suddenly look when QBs are getting pressure.

  3. people here keep saying we need this and we need that when mostly we are a couple of moves away from being a championship team and ill explain

weapons for andrew- no andrew has all the weapons he needs and hes getting three back next year in wayne allen and ballard. rogers brazil and whalen all proofed their more then capable of making plays. fleener has become that weapon that we all expected him too. richardson will become the back we all envisioned him to be once he has a full camp under him and more time to learn the offense properly.

fix the o-line no the line is fine. satale will be gone because it makes too much sense not too as we save 4 million if we do. honestly I think the only reason holmes wasnt starting was because grigs didnt want two rookie lineman starting. we also get thomas back who was playing really well before he got hurt. a line of canstanzo thomas holmes thornton and cleius will protect luck just fine

fix the defense- a lot of people wanna blame the defense for the pats game because all they focus on is the score board when in reality the defense had I believe 5 3 and outs. what more can you ask for? what we really need to fix our defense is a cover safety and another pass rusher. an ILB dual of freeman and mcnary sounds pretty good to me. franklin I dont expect to be resigned so we really can see what chapman can do as the starter and also more playing time for hughes will help improve our d-line. hopefully toler can stay healthly and we resign davis and we have a very good defense.

keep in mind we won a playoff game with 17 players on IR and we were only down 7 going into the fourth with the pats. we are a dangerous team on the rise

Good breakdown.  I do disagree in a few places:

    1) I don't think the offensive line is good if we just use Holmes and Thornton with Thomas coming back.  Thomas looked good, but he only played like 2 games.  I would say the jury is out on him.  Thornton had growing pains and Holmes we don't know about.  I HOPE they are good.  But I really would like to see at least two more lineman added to the bunch for competition and in case someone is hurt, because someone all likely WILL get hurt.   I don't want to take a chance of having another bad offensive line.  Has to end next year.

    2) I agree with that that the defense needs another pass rusher.  I also think more speed at safety.  I think a healthy Angerer (if healthy) and McNary will do well inside.  Its interesting that McNary was an outside guy in college.  With his speed I'm surprised they didn't try him there.   I think we likely have to replace Toler, who is always injured, and add more speed.

    3) WRs.  Again, I think we need to add at least one for depth and competition. Hopefully Rodgers continues to grow.

  4. I don't get the criticism of Pagano.  First of all, lets face the facts.  We don't have that much talent.   We have one Pro Bowl player.  We need better players in many positions.  But for us to get to 11-5 two years in a row, have so few turnovers and so few penalties shows a well coached team.   I like the guy.  I think he will be regarded as one of the best coaches in the league within the next 5 years.  I think sometimes fan have to accept that sometimes the more talented teams win.

  5. Who wants to go to it?  It is a farce.  I love the NFL but I hope this is the last Pro Bowl they have.  It is not even the best players.  So many just skip it.  They hardly try and now they have this stupid draft.  Just can it.

  6. I think we need to cut Da'Rick immediately. He's underperformed in every game and at this rate we can't continue to keep paying him to do little to nothing.

Do you actually watch the Colts play???   They pay him a minimal contract, he was on the active roster like 1/3 of the season. What do you expect?  Last year, Brazil hardly got catches too.  Da'Rick has great ability.  It is worth it as the cost he is to try to develop that.

  7. I know Grigson has had to be aggressive to win now, but I do wish we hadn't lost draft picks.  That is the blood for the team.  Even Grigson has said his background is in college scouting and the draft is ultimately how to build a great team.  So only having 5 picks next year will hurt.  I don't expect any compensatory picks because we signed so many free agents.

As far as the Richardson trade, I do think that will pain out.  It is just so hard to judge a RB when there are no holes most of the time. I am a Donald Brown fan, but even he hardly saw much daylight today.  He is just far more decisive than Richardson.  But I expect next year with more OLineman and a year under his belt, Richardson will be the back everyone thinks he can be.  He has a great attitude, great ability, and is smart.  He will get it done

  8. I'm glad you made this post, because it is so true.  You get all these sackless jacks screaming about how this is a passing league and a power running team is a thing of the past.  Then you look at Seattle...and SF...and NE...and Carolina....and SD.  Wow, what do they all have in common?  They all run well.  And the ones that stop the run best will end up winning.  In the playoffs, that is how you win.  Teams that just throw and throw are sitting home.    So critics of that should actually get off the couch and actually watch NFL football games.

  9. I hope Denver wins.  I actually hate the Broncos.  But it is more for Peytons legacy.  When he retires, he will always be remembered as a Colt.  So if he can win a SB with the Broncos, he will be come the first QB in history to win two Super Bowls with different teams.   So that will certainly stop any talk about him not being in Bradys class for the clowns that say that.  So for me, it is rooting for Peyton's legacy when we root for the Broncos.

  10. Nice breakdown.

    My offense wishline is:

Replace Satele and McGlynn with a couple of veterans, unless Holmes is ready to be the center.  Then just the right guard position.  I am assuming Thornton will get better, but it doesn't hurt to have 3 guards who can start.

Get another WR.  I hope Da'Rick can develop and I like what Brazil did, but we still need a true #1 or 1A to replace Reggie when he is dead.

RB, I actually think we are fine at. I think Brown (I hope we resign), Richardson, and Ballard are three pretty good RBs.  They just need a line to block for them.

Defensively, I think what is a big discouraging about the defense is that we have a few players there who supposed to be good on the line.  Redding and Jean-Francias cost some bucks. And were just blown off the ball.  The secondary seems a bit slow.  I do hope Werner can come on as it is a big adjustment to switch positions, but he did next to nothing this year.

I actually wish we would get a different defensive coordinator.   I didn't like Manusky in SF or SD and I don't like him here.  He wasn't their first choice and I think they can do better. I don't like his game calling.  I would love to see Wade Phillips be brought in because you know he is a good DC who will never get another HC job.

  11. There's always some * "fans" that come on here ripping Luck or that we need to clean house or everyone should be fired.  How about actually watching the Colts once in awhile?  WE NEED MORE TALENT!!!  No magic pill!  15 guys in IR.  We need better offensive lineman.  We need more receivers.   We need a better defense.  We aren't that good of a team, talent wise.  We are fortunate to get to the divisional playoff round.  If we were in the NFC West, we wouldn't be in the playoffs.  I understand fans are fans, but you gotta be realistic.  Sometimes, teams with more talent win the games!!!!

  12. You know what is so damned irritating is that everytime the Colts get close in a game winging the ball, the go back into handing the ball off and punting.  They stopped NE like 3 times in a row and did nothing on offense.

I'm not concerned about Luck.   He is a young QB in his second on a team with no running attack, no defense, and not a great receiving cast.  Some decisions are really bad, but he will get better.

  13. Please, I cannot go another season as a Colts fan to field a team that cannot run the ball or play defense.   We have to go back to like 1995 the last time the Colts could actually run AND stop the other team.  The odd thing is, defensively we were supposed to be solid based on the players we picked up.  But our defense is horrid.  Gapping holes in the DLine on run plays.  I really do hope Manusky gets canned.  I know it is not his fault guys are tackling.  But he seems to lack any imagination.  As for running attack, I don't care if we have to sign 5 lineman just so we have enough depth WE NEED A BETTER LINE!!!!
