  1. I'm glad to get off the field on 3rd down, but the defense continues to almost make plays. If this team is going to have a chance of having a respectable season without Manning, the defense needs to start actually making those plays. This defense almost makes way too many plays. Somebody earlier used the word "opportunistic", and that is the exact same word that I had in my head. This defense can't shut down an opposing offense. They're just not good enough for that. When they get the opportunity to make game-changing plays, they need to take advantage of those opportunities. Thus far, they have not done that.

  2. I am wondering why we have not tried to work some play action in. I know its been a long time since we had an effective running game, but it would be the perfect time to throw in some play action.

Yeah, it seemed like the perfect time. You're running the ball effectively, picking up large chunks of yardage every time. They are likely going to start stacking the box....especially as you get close to the 20. Seems like a perfect time for a fake handoff out of a 2-TE set to draw the defense inside and then get the receivers open downfield.

  3. I understand we want to run the ball, but it wouldn't hurt to throw the ball deep a couple of times. It'll keep the defense on their toes and if we complete the deep throws, they'll back up and open up space for the running game

Did you ever imagine six months ago that you would be saying this as a Colts fan?

  4. Am I the only one that has had a pat down before every game since 9/11?

No, you're not the only one. I've been to four games at four different stadiums since 2007 and been patted down at every one. Heck, I was patted down three times in six hours in Philadelphia. Once before going in to see the Liberty Bell, once before going into Independance Hall, and once going into the stadium for the Colts/Eagles game. It is not invasive at all. I don't see why such a big deal is being made of it all of a sudden. Seems like much ado about nothing.

  5. You saw the on-side kick coming? Really? Yeah...no you didn't. That kick could easily go down as one of the gutsiest calls in a SB in the past 15-20 years. No reasonable person could fault the coaches or players for getting caught off-guard by that on-side kick.

If Hank Baskett holds onto a ball that hits him square in the chest, it goes down as one of the stupidest calls in SB history. That's how fine the line is. The players should be prepared for an onside kick on every kickoff. That is the whole reason that a few players play 10-15 yards off the 30 on every kickoff.....just in case there is an onside kick. Being taken by surprise is not an excuse here.
