Dewey McDonald in the Cowboys game Dec 21 2014

Wasn’t that the character name of Heath Ledger in “A Knights Tale.”

Everyone here is acting like we will get draft picks in a trade. All three of the possible targets are in the last year of their contracts. Could be the other team is trying to trade long term players for a half year contract in order to clear salary cap space at the end of the season. Think of it like the NBA. That might be why Ballard is not interested in the trade offers.

The Good: Think how bad it could have been if we didn't keep the best players from training camp

Probably not as good
Everything is better than trading with the Pats

I would have worked out a deal with another team. Face it, it doesn't matter who the backup QB will be with this team. If it ain't Andrew we are going anywhere.

It was pretty hard to find posts extolling the virtues of Phillip Dorsett here for the last few years, we had a decent chance of cutting him today, they trade him for what is likely a better backup QB than we currently have on roster, and people are freaking out.... lmao..... proving that fan stands for fanatic. ; )
I just have an issue with trading with the Pats. They will get better and we won't see any improvement because Brissett will look as bad as the rest of our QB's because the talent pool and coaching of the Pats is a lot better.
-
Curious to find out who initiated the trade. CB doesn't have the Patriots history like we do so he is more likely to be less emotional. History of Patriots trades usually work out for their benefit because they have no emotional attachment to their players.

A good point, one ive made before...but.. he has to be healthy enough to practice with the team. And if so, it should not take 6 weeks to do so. But if you are saying it might take 4 weeks before he can practice, then he takes another 2-3 practicing and will be ready by weeks 7, then point taken.
But let's see if he even gets activated first.
Granted

Remember, even when (we all hope) he is activated, the official league practice report on Wednesday will tell a lot about Luck's status. i still say it would 3 weeks team practice/drills before he gets to start.
As far as guesses, i'll give mine here (assuming he comes off the PUP within the next couple of hours) -
I give him 0.001% chance of starting vs. L.A. Rams, and 5% against the Cardinals. I go up to 65% vs. the Browns, and 90% against the Seahawks. 100% vs. the 49'ers.
If he isn't going to be the 100% starter by 10/8/2017, then we can debate why they didn't keep him o n the Reserve/PUP and give an extra roster spot to another guy?
Because being on the PUP list will not allow to practice with the team. Being on the active roster allows him to work with the receivers not engaged during practice.

The problem I see is Pagano doesn't inspire the players like he needs to. During his first season the players were focused on winning for their sick coach. This team has turned over most of the players since then and while the new players know of the coach's history. He is healthy and they are more focused on trying to make the NFL a career.

Not that we didn't look bad Saturday, keep in mind this was Dallas's third game of the preseason.
-
Maybe this is a signal he's fallen so low on the depth chart and might get cut. This might be the Colts trying to get whatever they can for him.
-
To quote Rob Schneider in the Waterboy "Oh no, we suck again"
How in the world can we evaluate WR's with these QB's
-
Maybe they are evaluating for the future. With closed practices and they see potential they might hide him on the practice squad. It worked for Swoope.
-
I was shocked by the part where both the Browns and the Chargers called him to say they were drafting him but didn't. I can see a reason or a last second change i.e. last second trade, but why call the guy two picks early to say your going to draft him.

I think there's a good chance the Colts will finish somewhere between 0-16 and
16-0.
But, I could be wrong.....
You're Wrong, It should be 0-16 and 19-0

Right after the draft one of Bleacher Report guys was super high on the Hooker pick. He said (his words not mine) before he became a starter he was on the scout team and had 40 int's. Even the OSU QB's stopped throw his way.
-
I don't follow college football in great detail, so I'm not expert on player evaluation. Based on everyone joy today it looks like we did well. I am more anxious about next year because our scouts will be in tune with Ballards expectations during the college football season instead of after like this year.

Probably takes two years to learn not to dribble after the catch.

Maybe Polian was a lot better GM than what a lot of people here thought. At least the receivers he drafted could catch the ball and 4th round OL could block. The latter might be more of a Howard Mudd thing.

This make me appreciate Quan Bray today

This team is just not very good, they're awful and it starts from the top. So if Irsay is smart, it's time to pick a new GM and coach so you can rebuild .
They're better than the Colts from the late 80's and early 90's.

I don't like his experimental projects. He waste practice squad room for people like Swoope and Adongo. We should be developing players who have experience playing the game. If we were a regular conference championship caliber team I wouldn't complain.

This may be the best game for the Oline. They won’t give up sack because we won’t throw the ball all game.
