Different tha baseball, NFL Hall of Fame players are not assigned to a team upon entry. Very doubtful he'll go in on first ballot. Morten Anderson who is the NFL all time leading scorer got in on his fifth attempt.

If you look at NFL.com stats you'll see the first 6 tacklers are LB's and a tie for 7th is Clayton Geathers and Antoine Bethea

Don't want him, has attitude problem. Doesn't show up for training camp and not just this year.

We played extra vanilla in preseason and didn’t get to see what they worked on after TC. Trust the coaching staff knows more than we do.

If we did get him he'll be doing this again in two years. He doesn't attend training camp, reports late for the season and expects full compensation. Nope don't need that.

I like the Frank Reich hire and I wonder who Ballard would have targeted as a coach if he was allowed to cut ties with Pagano last year. I think Grigson was to busy trying prove he was smartest guy in the room. Drafting projects in early rounds that should have been used on players who have shown the skill level of a starter. He should have drafted projects in later rounds to give them time to develope.

Currently varing between none to about 15 with a couple of teams. At this time the Colts are only showing Green.

Let’s temper our excitement a little. His success was against the Niners 3rd string. He also got a roughing the passer keeping a Niners scoring drive alive. Hopefully he can keep it but let’s keep it in perspective.

I’ve got a great idea. Let’s get the best player from every other team. There is no reason why they wouldn’t come here and play for league minimum. What’s Ballard waiting for?

Three weeks into preseason is far to early to say Hines should be cut, but four weeks isn't? I'm certainly not convinced he makes it.
We are being told Frank hasn’t opened the playbook yet and won’t until the regular season. Hines is expected to benefit most when that happens. So you want hamper the team before the season starts. From what I have seen in preseason Hines has been used very little in the passing offense. As Venturi said during the Niners game we having running the ball against 8 men in the box. Let’s give the guy a chance a see what happens.

Like previous rule changes there will be an adjustment period. Everybody will adapt and in a year or two it will business as usual.

2 guys to ease the load on the current players we got for the preseason. Testing the waters to see what’s available in case of in season injury adjustments are needed.

I only see a trade scenario if it looks like Swoope is getting cut. See what you can get for him. Besides we should be number four on the waiver wire so we'll get early looks as other teams clear bodies.

Hope he shows up tonight. Didn’t see any news about him on Saturday. As Steve Smith said all receivers can look good in shorts. It’s when they put their pads on that determines if they are any good.

I see simularities to how Bill Polian ran the team. He won’t spend big on free agents. I like his drafting so far, based on only this years draft he has made a considerable effort to improve the O-line. Polian was good at finding middle round gems at O-line the Howard Mudd could coach up. The question becomes if we become a top tier team can he maintain the quality with picks at the back end of the draft.

Probably a combination of both. I look forward to next year. I think back to what Dungy said back as coach “The biggest development in a players career is going from year one to year two.”
