Speaking of Braden Smith....
I was surfing around NFL.com the other day and stumbled into this....
A series they do every year.... this year it's called 18 for 18.... 18 candidates in any given category for the year 2018.
Last year it was called 17 for 17. And I'll be you can figure out what the series will be called next year? Yup.
Well... the category was "freakish athletes".... so I'll post the link here and just scroll down to #15. You don't often see offensive lineman on a list with the top freakish athletes. Hello, Braden!
Enjoy!!
If you look at #10 it's Brandon Bryant, people here have been talking about him for the supplemental draft in another topic.

Maybe teams have determined he is a contract chaser. Only shows quality play when it’s time for a new contract.

Not sure how to feel if nelson cant move woods/stewart
I hope it’s a good thing. Make him motivated to fix it and become even better.

I like the Frank Reich video after the practice about 5:20 where he was asked if Andrew has let it ripped yet. His response about kind of let it ripped. I see it as he’s chucked it. But they are going still take it slow.

Let me add from earlier. RPO's success is designed to attack zone defense but the counter to RPO is man to man defense. The best strategy is put the TE in motion and see if the defense follows him. If not they are in a zone if they do then it's a man to man. If the RPO is run properly the QB only has to focus on one defender. Which defender is based on the play called. In some of their video examples they were focused on the flanker. If the defender playing the flanker reacts to the hand off to the RB then the flanker will be open. If he doesn't then the RB can be open for a pass. Philly was very successful utilizing this for about 7 yards per play. The NFL network compared this to the Wildcat in that it's the BIG new thing but will probably phase out in a few years.

Just saw a good presentation of the RPO system on the NFL network. Won’t go into details but they said the best run system was Doug Peterson at Philly. They expect Reich to bring those concepts here. They expect RPO the new “thing” for the near future.

I thought CB hired LtCol. Brian Decker (ret.). last year to do player analytics. Now we have two of these guys. He’s still listed on the staff.
-
He said in one of his earlier press conferences he intends to build a team that will not be just competitive but a team others will try to emulate.
-
If he makes the team we can call him Thor

It is said Nelson’s best attribute is run blocking. I anticipate Kelly/Nelson opening big holes for the running back. Forces defense to stack the box and providing AL better passing opportunities. It also helps the defense with less 3 and outs giving them time to rest so they’re not worn out in the 4th quarter.

I wonder if their will be a link for us or will it be the NFL Network cutting in on the broadcast. I get frustrated when the Colts are coming up and “cut to a commercial” our pick becomes an after thought after the commercial.

I can get behind making everybody wait. Permit the interviews but stop all hiring until after the Super Bowl. I don’t see this fixing the biggest issue. I’m glad Mcdumb@$$ is gone but he screwed over a bunch of assistants thinking they were gettting hired by the Colts and probably turned down other opportunities.

Ballard mentions how big spenders in free agency tend to not consistently win. The big spenders are the ones who are constantly re-tooling. Says this will be the new norm going forward.
Edit:
By new norm, Ballard explains how Colts will continue to not be big spenders in free agency going forward. They will focus on building through the draft.
This reminds me of the Bill Polian way of doing free agency. He never really chased the premium free agents and was always getting beat up about it on this message board.

Never throw bad money at bad contracts for mediocre players. The start of free agency is rife with that. Never worth.
Throwing starter money at journeyman players is the Grigson principle.

- So your saying he's a professional troll. Probably has no useable skill in the employment sector.

I would be concerned about the Browns drafting Chubbs. Think of having Chubbs and Garrett as DE’s. Then pick up a QB at Four. The Giants will go for Barkley and the Colts will try and trade back.

Love the integrity of our GM. Never got that sense from Grissom. As a possible benefit to keeping the McD asst’s is the game against the Pats they might be extra motivated.

Do not buy any Kraft products, that would be a start???
Kraft the company has nothing to do with Robert Kraft. Don’t punish the wrong group. I personally boycott Gillette because they are paying Robert Kraft by sponsoring his stadium.

I hope they file a grievance to make that punk pay the contracts of the asst coaches he had hired.

As Steve Young said last night “Super Bowl MVP’s are not backup QB’s”

So your saying we have a chance!? lol.....that is actually a huge plus....but I do still feel like we fade late.
This season that’s standard operating procedure.

Quick research has the last0-0 game was in 1943 but don’t know for sure if OT was involved.

This game could end as an overtime tie 0-0

Haven't seen anything of Leonard being signed. Are you sure?
