  1. Well my Colts loyalty is kind of a funny story. My father is a Cowboys fan, like the rest of his family, but no way was I gonna be a cowboy fan. I just distinctly remember this shot of Peyton throwing the ball, and ever since then I've fallen in love with the classic blue and white.

Ok I have no memory of this post. I just made another detailing my story. Forgive me, my memory's been a little weird lately.
  2. I'm from Vegas born and raised. My father's a cowboy fan so no way was I going that route. Truthfully, I was originally a raider fan, but I was just a little kid who liked the name and their crazy fans. But then I started watching this team called the colts. I loved the classic blue and white uniforms. I specifically remember watching one highlight of Peyton throwing a perfect spiral, under pressure, for a touchdown. Few things I have ever thought were more beautiful.

  3. Pick your ideal draft for the Colts regarding positions for the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Choose what position you'd like to see us grab with those picks, and then a player of that position who could realistically fall to us.

    Allow me to start.

Round 2- DE: Dominique Easley- a definite early first round talent if not for his injuries, and arguably the most explosive Defensive Tackle in the draft, he'd lead our D-line for years to come.

Round 3- CB: Loucheiz Purifoy- great athleticism in a corner with terrific man cover skills who played on an island frequently at Florida (wow, I just realized I picked two Gators). And don't think he's too small at 5'11, cuz guess who else is at 5'11? Vontae Davis.

  4. I'd like to resign Vinatieri, but he's not a must, in my opinion. However, Mcafee is to me. Not only is he one of the elite punters in the nfl ( haha elite punters), but he's a great personality on the team, he just loves being a Colt, and provides awesome insight videos in the locker room.

  5. For the guys available when the Colts pick (I hope they don't use an early round pick on OLB), to me it's Hubbard in this draft. He was the SAM on Alabama's 3-4 D, is amongst the biggest LB prospects at 6'6" 257, and was the tenth fastest LB at the combine, posting a sub 4.7 40. He underachieved at Alabama, according to many. Played with his hand down more than up. But for a 4th to 6th round guy, there is a lot of bang for the buck in Hubbard, I think.

If Hubbards' still there in there in the late rounds, then his value at that point is certainly serviceable. But for a 3rd or 4th, No way. He wasn't even that good to begin with, and his numbers and talents are more reflective of the entire BAMA defense.
  6. I don't have anything against Matthews- I think he'd be a great replacement for Reggie. I'm inclined to see I'd rather take another position, but ultimately, it should go to whoever can make the biggest impact on the team. Of all the players likely to fall to us, (including Mathews, Hageman, Gabe Jackson, Reynolds, Attaochu, Fuller, Jean-Baptiste, Sutton), I take Attaochu. I believe out of all of them, he's proved the most, has a good combination of rushing the passer from the LEO position, and dropping back in coverage.

  7. All these draft and FA ILB's have kept me intrigued for a long time.

I've loved Skov ever since the last offseason, but a lot are knocking him for his pass defense deficiencies.

Everyone seems to love Yawin Smallwood, but there are reasons why he's not a first round pick, so he hasn't yet appeared to be as good as everyone's saying.

And then it's almost like the same story for Spikes and Butler, respectively, but are going to be more certain, and certainly more expensive.

  8. For the record, I'm not even perfectly ok with my own... let's call it a "plan." I just see this is as a very basic layout of a way we could move forward. Not everyone is ever going to be completely happy, but with different perspectives and values, we can build a dynasty.

Although I'm sticking by picks- for now. Personally, I'm an in-the-trenches type guy, but players make up a team- players, not positions. Therefore, weight should be placed on the individual player instead of his position, and looking at where we pick, I like our chances with these players to make an impact on our team more so than others.

  9. Say we sign a competent ILB, and maybe a center, and then just a few low level free agents. Would everyone be cool with our draft picks being:

    2nd- A CB like Fuller/Pyrifoy

3rd- A pass rusher (possibly a LEO to replace Walden in due time) like Smith/Sam/Lawrence

5th- Kenny Ladler, a mini Bethea, give him 2-3 years to learn behind his clone

And do whatever with our 6th and 7th picks, maybe a lineman and wide reciever.

    Thoughts?
