Why did he add 40 pounds? Is he getting switched to the D line? I'm gonna miss his intimidating muscles.
-
I think Murphy would be a terrific fit at SAM for our scheme, he's got a great motor, set of skills, and football IQ. Not to mention a hard worker and leader. I'd love him with our first pick.
-
Trent Murphy. Talk about a football player- hard worker, leader, all in one.
-
The off season is hitting us hard.
-
Okay, let's not do this. We don't need another nose tackle when we got Arthur Jones who can rotate between D-end and splitting time with Chapman for nose. And how about not getting another center when we just signed one, and our front office has so much faith in their draft pick Holmes?
-
Preferably neither. I like Brooks but am not totally sold, and Reynolds just doesn't impress me on tape.
-
I went to college so I wouldn't have to work for a living.
I'm a little lost. What job do you have where you don't have to work and still get paid?
-
Its gonna get interesting.
Some just want to play a sport at a level higher than high school. Thats the only reason they are going to school. They dont want to make the NBA, or NFL, they just want to play. Thats totally fine in my book....And how much is a degree REALLY worth? I know mine is worthless, and so are about 80% of the other ones...They 'pay' for room and board, and food. And in return you play football....You know what else just pays for Room/Board and Food, and nothing else? A minimum wage job...Another job the pays for room/board, food, as well as educates you, and YOU get paid? The military.
If you feel your degree is worthless, that's just your fault. Maybe you and all the other student athletes should focus more on the true purpose of a university.
-
It certainly is not a "free ride", especially in the case of football players. They pay for their "education" with their bodies and the time they commit to the sport. Football players are involved in football-related activity 40 to 50 hours a week!! When do they have time to rest and concentrate on academics (their "education") when they work full-time, practicing, watching film, etc? Yes, some people do it but at what cost? Can a player say he will not play in the BCS championship game because he has to study for an exam? The answer is No. When I was in undergraduate school, I rarely had time to do anything but go to class and study. I can only imagine fitting in 40 to 50 extra hours of work (sports-related activity).
It really bothers me when people call athletic scholarships "a free ride" or "a free education" because it clearly is not.
Do you realize how many kids would kill for what these players are complaining about? The true purpose of college is for higher education, not a sports preparation program.

How did we not sign him for this much.
-
Alright I guess it's good. Personally I might switch a little, take a safety like Ward or Buchannon in the 2nd then Pierre Desir in the 3rd - could be a stud.
-
Never really liked him, he's just a basic 4-3 DE who was more a player from Texas than any kind of standout.
-
I don't think Bucannon's a superstar, but he's good for the 2nd round.he can roam and fly to the ball, and even had two picks in that Oregon tape you said he played horrible in.
-
Seems a lot like reaches. I really like Ladler, but the 3rd round is too high for him and I don't know if he should start right away.
-
Running the ball and stopping the run is how you win championships, not just having one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time with hood receivers around. Don't believe me? Just look at the last super bowl.
-
Can we really have a rookie strong safety starting at free? I'm not so sure. I guess if we shifted coverages a lot it might be ok, but I'd hate to take Landry so far out of his position- mainly lighting up anything that comes across the middle. Although I think drafting Terrence Brooks would be very good, even the little guy, Lamarcus Joyner.
-
I've been in love with Attaochu for a long time now. He has exceptional strength and pass rush ability, even a little coverage experience. I'd pass out if he was at 59 for our pick.
-
Seeing how he has said he'd love to play here, and the talent and production is there (unlike the simple potential of DHB), I can definitely see him working out long term.
-
I like both FSU prospects as a free safety. Lamarcus Joyner is extremely talented but short, which I don't mind. And Terrence Brooks is seen as a good robber who we could have roaming around.
-
You don't for us impatient draft loversTradition. You don't mess with it.
-
They could have easily moved the draft to another major city like Chicago, Miami, Boston, California, or maybe some middle ground like KC or St. Louis.
-
I'm unsure about Reynolds, but it seems alright
-
Can someone please explain to me why everyone wants us to draft a typical strong safety to play free?
-
Sounds great. They might be a little unlikely to fall at those rounds, but anything can happen. Attaochu might be the second coming of Orakpo and filling our secondary is exactly what we need right now.

Perfect. I actually decided an hour ago if we get Joyner, Desir, and Sam, we could win the super bowl, and then comes along this beautiful mock.
