I've been a big colts fan ever since 1984 and I have seen running backs like the edge and Marshall Faulk want a good paying contract to stay with the colts and we lost them. The colts need to step up and finally sign Taylor to the contract that he wants because he is an elite running back. Don't lose another one like before.

That history shows us that it is okay to let Taylor go.

Well driving into work this morning and NFL on Sirius was talking about how there’s a groups of the top running backs all discussing possibly sitting out en masse this season as a protest . Now they did hedge that with the standard “per a source close to an agent for one of the RBs speaking out”

If they do this and the backups light it up, that wouldn't be good for them lol. They might just prove everyone's point about how expendable RBs are.

For years, I woke up every Sunday during NFL season knowing that the Colts would probably win and be exciting to watch. Add in the Super Bowl win and that’s enough legacy for me.

Been such a long time since those days. I think I took those days for granted. It's like we had a cheat code, and we indeed bad a cheat code; it was Manning. Never felt like that with any other player.

Are we sure he did this? If so, this list and reasoning for #3 are bizzaro squared, wth? If he wants to alienate someone even more, then he succeeded. Elon, make him stop.

Really wouldn't mind a different owner.

  5. I have defended Irsay in the past,  but this is the straw for me; Jim Irsay is embarrassing and this did nothing but undermine him and his franchise. All he had to say was Jim Brown was one of the greatest players ever.  That's it.

And, yes, Peyton is better than Brady. You would never hear Dungy say otherwise.

Irsay definitely deserves all the flack he is getting and then some.

Yeah I think it matters to the rest of the players also. Don't want to punt on the season when you have some momentum and a QB who's playing reasonably well. But if we're working Richardson in all along, then it shouldn't be a drastic switch if/when it happens, and everyone will recognize that it's been the plan all along.

I feel like he should just start day 1. If he is supposed to be the future, then why waste time with Minshew? Give Richardson experience and if they continually lose, then we get a high draft pick. I feel like starting Minshew is more of a punt.

We'll see. If Minshew plays like JB did in 2019 and we start 5-2 (which is really optimistic; I think JB was very average, we had a soft schedule, and some things just broke our way), there would obviously be debate about what to do at QB. But I know how I felt then, and I would absolutely support moving to Richardson in that situation.

The other factor is whether Richardson is ready. If he looks great in preseason, he could start Week 1. But if it looks rough and Minshew is the starter, the fans won't really know what kind of progress he's making in practice and meetings. So we might have a situation where it looks like we should consider making a change, but the staff holds off because they don't want to put Richardson out there yet. Of course, if they play it the way I hope, we'll see Richardson in certain packages right away, even if he's not the starter.

Long story, I don't know if win/loss is the biggest factor, but it could be significant if the team is winning.

I would feel really ambivalent if the team started winning, especially if Minshew lights it up, which, I guess, is unlikely.

I read a few articles that said that everyone was about to play again before Stefon Diggs called his teammates back and Coach Taylor went to speak with Coach McDermott on the field. It seemed that was when they decided not to play.

I think the Athletic was one that reported that.

    Edit: Adding this

Players habitually line up for the next play regardless of injury, and I'm sure most didn't know the magnitude of the injury. It doesn't matter who made the decision; everyone agreed not to continue to play; that's all that matters.
