That being said I think this is more a coaching issue than talent, but maybe I'm being naive and giving the players too much credit. The roster on paper has been improving each year for the most part, so I don't get how there's such a huge dip in performance and effort from the team this year as opposed to any of the other seasons since 2012

THis season I've noticed an overwhelming amount of disconnect between players and a lack of effort/drive. Nobody communicates with each other on the sidelines to lighten up or motivate others, everyone kind of just sits there independently, has anyone else noticed this? Contrasted to 2012, this tranny played like a family, a unit, with chemistry

Newsome is a guy that really disappointed me. He had a fine 2014 season. Second among rookies in sacks (6.5) and a was great against Denver in the Divisional Round (had a key strip sack). Coming into 2015 he said his goal was to hit 10 sacks (which I thought he would've to be honest). He came about 9 sacks short. And the Colts cut him.
Was about to post then saw this. I agree. I highly doubt Newsome would have turned into something special, after his abysmal 2015. But cutting a guy that finished second among rookies in sacks, was kind of a questionable move. There had to be off field reasons for his release.
If I recall it was for off field reasons

9 game winning streak into the playoffs, here we come!

Is there a transcript that I can read? At work at the moment but interested to see what he talked about

I don't wanna get ahead of myself but also feel like our offense will match up wel vs the Vikings D, although a long reach, I can see colts grinding out more Ws than we anticipated a week ago lol
-
I have to agree that the defense looks bad bc they're also so gassed every play. Downs take so long with no pass rush forces corners and linebackers have to cover for longer. With a pass rush you make the entire offense uneasy, and calls for less time in coverage. Looking forward to the moves grigs makes this offseason to address our LB group.

No cast, no crutches for Dwayne Allen in Colts locker room. Good sign. He doesn't rule out practicing this week. (Still a ways to go)

Take your time Dwayne, no really we insist, no rush ;)

We really aren't as far off from a solid d as it has appeared this season, I know that sounds like it doesn't make sense, but throw in a pass rush on any defense and it'd do wonders

Pipe dream here, but what would the possibility be of trading for Freeman? The Bears are struggling this year. I know teams don't usually trade players with only just signing them but a guy could wish.
I think that bridge has burned and would be a weird scenario to trade for somebody you willingly let walk away...to your point, pipe dream, but totally for it in an ideal world lol
-
SOrry but don't think Dorsett has any trade value, like at all esp with his production/injuries. Trading him would be dumb based on this bc whichever team wants him would potentially get a steal if/once he gets to 1st round talent/skill level

Was so excited for moncrief this season!!

awesome way to finish the game, but just a minor correction, i dont think its mathis first time getting a TD, i remember the game against the browns years ago where peyton couldnt score and we won 10-6 or 13-6 cant remember.
i think if we get a pass rush our D will look MUCH better. i want the younger guys to keep getting more playing time
-
yep hes done a great job. not sure if it was chuds gameplanning or andrews decision making, but noticed alot more short passes (crosses/slants), was so happy to see that lol

Sorry out of likes, but YES TO ALL!
I really hope they start to play edwin jackson ALOT more, i remember coaches were really high on him and his potential, and hes fast! even in the very small amount he played today he looked like he knew what he was doing.
I remember mcgill ended last season on a high note, and today mightve been the most hes played this year right? im not sure, but it seemed like it probably from the gamechanging play that really sealed the deal for the game, so awesome. happy that mathis too that got that TD, and hope to see mathis get more up to speed (hes been slowly but surely warming up IMO).
ayers also like jackson just looked natural out there. i really hope he gets more playing time too, idk why i just like him alot. i dont know much about him, but he also seems disruptive.
swoope is like a huge WR so awesome. he balled out today, had great catches and had an opportunity for a TD i believe? cant remember. who knows if allen's injury is a blessing in disguise in which we have doyle and swoope, who both arent as good as allen in blocking, but who knows what the potential is to improve. even fleener improved lol

So awesome and happy for him, hes been such a key player to our team for years
It's crazy how he's gotten better by the year, especially the last few, like how?? loving adam and pat, always come through.
Honestly I never thought to get a K or P jersey but wow, it's been hard not to consider it over the past few seasons lol

Loving how one of the positives for all season has been the growth of the oline and it's potential.
i mean, there's some plays Andrew has alll day. I know luck leads in sacks, hurrys, pressures etc, and certain plays cough reitz cough had bad games, but he had done a nice job of trying to help the oline too with being quicker. I felt like that was significantly improved today with his quick decision making and gettin rid of the ball. In turn that also makes the oline look well and play more confidently.

You know we suck when the board is overjoyed that we beat Tennessee!!
Very true! Lol let us live!!
im personally overjoyed that luck has shown MAJOR improvement in his decision making this year, and it was much Moe meaningful in a W like today.

I thought the Street penalty was justified. You can't spike the ball unless it's a TD, I mean that's just the rule. Doesn't matter if it bounces into the refs hands or not. Even Pagano, who never calls out players, pointed to him and told him to be smart. By the way it was great to see that, usually Chuck goes with the it's all good demeanor but I really liked that he called him out.
And the McNary hit was not only dumb but it was pretty dirty even if it wasn't his intent. I'm surprised Pagano didn't pull him.
On a lighter note, as someone who predicted a win in ugly fashion, I think I was only half right. Luck, Hilton, Doyle, and the O-line were phenomenal. I really liked the offensive play calling though and I give Pagano props for going with the onside kick. We need more Riverboat Chuck. But a lot of the penalties, I'd say at least 7 or 8 of the 11 or so called, were legit and that needs to be cleaned up.Thanks for for this feedback, I didn't know that the flag was basically bc it wasn't a TD bc I was scratching my head at that one.
i coulda sworn I saw Edwin Jackson in after mcnary screwed up, unless it was on rotation and mcnary didn't necessarily get "pulled"

yeah. other than 2 bad passes, Luck was on his game today, and most of the season so far. Decent comp %, int/ TD % , and being safer now when he decides to tuck and run. He's even starting to understand that he needs to do something quicker when no-one is open, so he's not hit/sacked as much. (evidence today...finally) If 5 passes were not dropped,...he'd had had a whale of a game...but since there was...it was just great...lol
Biggest/most promising thing to me was luck evidently showed he's improving on his deficiencies, he played very smart football today!! It was awesome to see him make decisions and go through his reads way quicker than we're used to seeing. And it's good that he still will take a run if it's there but he safe about it, I was worried after coaching/FO got into his head about playing safer that it would backfire on him not taking chances like that
-
I'd rather see Edwin Jackson or morrison getting experience and yes making mistakes than having mcnary out there just being bad for 4 years and running
-
I really thought Allen was gonna kill it this year but he's disappointed. Still great at blocking, but to me I always liked his pass catching ability and this year he has played pretty "small"

agreed with the general consensus, was always confused why we cut him in the first place. its like he never really got a chance which was weird, and i like him when he was in denver, from what i remember, he wasnt bad at pass coverage but could be wrong.
i will say i was really excited for the edwin jackson experiment (one of the few things to look forward to for the rest of the season personally) along with other young players. its so refresing to see someone so quick like him at that position compared to the rest this season
