  1. I can understand that but you led your debate with concern that Flacco couldn’t get wins if he played. There’s no guarantee that Sam E would. And for the sake of clarity, I was in similar mindset as you at first when they signed Minshew last year. worst case, we get a higher draft pick and Ballard is gone like many on here want. Best case AR turns into a superstar. Most likely, it’ll be in between those
  2. No, he won’t. He was active every game day last year even as the 3rd QB. It’ll be the same this year
  3. Not me. As I said before, if it were actually anything major, the union would have been involved and the media all over it.
  4. I’m okay with Flacco. Not because of what will happen if he needs to play. If he has to play, we’re screwed. however, I like the Flacco signing for three reasons: number 1: no Justin fields trade. Thank freaking God. Fields is a bust, has always been a bust. And would create an unbelievable uncomfortable QB room. number 2: his long history in the league means he knows how to avoiding injury and keeping his body in a condition to keep playing. Something AR has to learn. number 3: Flacco has won a lot in the league over the years. He’s seen a ton of different defenses including a couple of the best ever that the Ravens had. He can help mentor ARs field awareness, hopefully. but yea, if he has to play, yikes.
  5. Just saw on NFL dot com, 66 different QBs started, that’s right, STARTED games last season. Second only to the record 2022 year that saw 68, that broke the previous by nearly double. Wonder what’s up with two back to back years of insanely high numbers of starting QBs?
  6. Nelson, Buckner, Braden’s, Kelly’s to start with. They can cut Cox too for 6 mil
  7. It won’t. Not from the cap anyway. We can free up like 30 million easily by restructuring various players and or cutting guys like Mo Allie Cox(6 mil there alone)
  8. I don’t think we were as bad as some think but I don’t think we are as good as we put on at times either. We did benefit a bit from an easier schedule. But the the funny part is… we lost more in the “easy” part than we did in the “hardest” part of the schedule. Well with Snead, you’re getting a guy coming off of a career year that’s still on the right side of 30. Most of the FAs at DB were either banged up, on the decline, over 30 or more man press type DBs vs our zone scheme. We’re northwest of Morgantown, a few miles north of 252. Trying to get as far away from city life as possible as my kids age into the prime age for gang recruitment. Having gone through that struggle in Chicago many years ago as a kid, I want nothing to do with any big city. It’s just a breeding ground. We scrounged and saved. Bought 15 acres up here. It’s not much but we get a big garden. Kind of funny being surrounded by old white farmers when you’re black but everyone has been kind and respectful. Old guy that owns the woods next to us comes over from time to time to play poker with us, even mows our field for us, for free. Great guy which if you knew who his great uncle was, you’d be shocked
  9. If we land Snead, I’m gonna be jumping up and down, might cause an earthquake here in Morgantown
  10. As much as Id love to see Ballard do the same thing, history has shown that very very very rarely does going on a super spending spree in FA result in any real gains. The Jags did it many times, and again after they draft Trevor Lawrence. They’ve gone no where. Browns did it several times. Chargers did it with Herbert. all after just one season with their rookie QBs. All of them showed promise so they went all in. meanwhile, teams like the Bills and Chiefs, spent the money more wisely and slowly, albeit that is starting to catch up because of how well they’ve drafted and developed their own while also supplementing with quality FA. This is the model I think Ballard is trying to replicate.
