Very doubtful that happens if/when Luck comes back, but also doubtful this team has what it takes to go deep in playoffs. Draft picks are key to getting a better team sooner than later. Now that we have a real GM.

Like really maintain the lead fellas, chuck have a better gameplan like foreal it's the browns we should've dominated the whole game with how the defense started but if it was a good team we were playing we would've lost tighten up fellas

Yeah these routes take too long to develop which is dumb in certain cases because on 3rd and 5 all you need is atleast 5 yards just ran a slant but they rather run a C routes which takes time to run

As for the quoted, I felt like he passed up a handful of chances to throw the ball deep. After a while, I thought he was a little too conservative, and even on the interception, he had a safer throw deep down the left side that he didn't throw, instead forcing it into double coverage. I wasn't really impressed with his downfield throws, would have liked to see him try more.
Maybe those other deep passes wouldn't been a good idea especially if the safeties were over top he just have to get the timing right with the wr's it seems so far doyle and aiken are his favorite targets

Yeah I would brissett a B- given the fact of the short time he has learned some of the playbook and he isn't afraid to run if he must plus how he stands tall in the pocket and he isn't afraid to throw a deep pass

Yeah if the colts can't beat the browns then someone has to be fired ASAP it doesn't get no worse then the browns they have been losers for years and the last time hilton spoke up he gave a better perfomance so hopefully this will happen

I just rewatched every Card play on O. Palmer completed 3 passes on Melvin. He wasn't targeted nearly as much as you think, but when they did he was spot on. They went after Wilson mostly.
Admittedly, he gave up a grievous first down on 3rd and 20, but he pretty much played a great game.
If you don't believe me, watch the game again and tell me where I'm wrong. PFF got this one right.
No moore gave up that big play on 3rd down he looked totally lost

I think Green is very raw, but asking him to play CB is smarter than asking him to play safety. Playing man up on one guy is much easier than asking him to cover the whole backside as a deep safety, reading the entire play and making decisions on where to put himself to make the best plays. His worst traits are play recognition and ball tracking, two key skills for a deep safety. The way our defense is run, we use SS/FS positions interchangeably, so its not like we can just use him in the box. If he cant do the deep coverage stuff, then he cant be a proper safety on our roster. He might learn these skills down the road, but for now I think hes a safer bet to just use his speed and stay on WRs like white on rice. He actually hasnt looked bad at CB so far, and if you consider he is learning and has a ton of room to grow, he might just be able to make it as a CB. I think he has a better chance sticking on our roster as a CB than a safety.
I don't know him playing man coverage one on one or even a zone coverage will be really hard for him all he would do in the safety position is not get beat deep which to me isn't as hard as trying to cover #2 or #3 wr all game long where he really has 0 experience at but we will see

Yeah but maybe melvin wasn't in the right system before well atleast his tackling has improved alot as for green he's too raw to play corner keep him at safety and use him on safety blitzes he has the speed he just can't cover

I agree that Melvin played better than usual yesterday. But im not convinced that one good game means he will have continued success. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I think he is a fine 4th cb, but id like to think our young guys have the potential to be more. Might as well find out while we are going through a rough patch anyway.
I'm not saying that he's that good either he just need to be more consistent and have patience maybe he can prove his critics wrong

We know Melvins ceiling already, and its pretty low. Green is a few months into a position hes never played, and he didnt look terrible in week 1, certainly better than I expected. More reps could be all he needs.
Melvin actually played well yesterday he just needs to be consistent more
