He looks pretty damn good to me. Don't know if the multiple-move routes will work as well in the pros, but man. He's quick, he gets open, he catches the ball and he's tough as hell. I saw him take a couple of HUGE shots over the middle in his tapes. Got back up. He's also very feisty.
He doesn't seem to have the ultimate take-the-top off speed to be a TD threat on every catch, BUT... he looks good to me.

Ballard did say they thought he was a good fit for their defensive scheme. So I'm hoping he turns out to be good

This offence needs a vertical burner. U have Downs and the tight ends. Pierce is pretty fast and great at 5o 50 balls.?However, still need a burner who teams need to respect. Can't stack the box.
I like Tyler Scott from cindy but I don't know if we'll draft 2 WR.
He can get deep

I hope I'm totally wrong about this. He seems like a really nice kid. But I just watched game vids from him playing against TCU and Baylor and dang, he's a pass interference waiting to happen maybe he'll be OK in zone. I know he's tall an long and a big hitter... he also is a 4.53 guy at corner. Don't know. Like I said I hope I'm way off base

If you put any stock into the RAS scores and line them up with the Colts' needs, you get some interesting guys to watch tonight and into Day 3. Granted, the RAS score isn't the end all, be all of grading a player, but we do know that Ballard keeps a sharp eye on that stat in the Draft.
NAME RAS SCORE
1. Zach Kuntz, TE 10.00
2. Julius Brents, CB 9.99
3. Darnell Washington, TE 9.88
4. YaYa Diaby, DE 9.87
5. Jonathan Mingo, WR 9.87
6. Blake Freeland, OT 9.83
7. Darius Rush, CB 9.80
8. Cam Smith, CB 9.69
9. Jon Gaines, G 9.69
10. Isaiah Foskey, DE 9.61
11. Michael Wilson, WR 9.55
12. Rashee Rice, WR 9.53
13. Marvin Mims, WR 9.41
14. Cody Mauch, OT 9.33
15. Luke Wypler, C/G 9.31
16. Sam LaPorta, TE 9.02
I'm looking at Brents, Diaby, Mingo, Freeland, Rush, Gaines, Rice, Mauch and Wypler as the players to watch from this group.
I'm a little surprised that Brents is so high. If I read NFL.com correctly, he ran a 4.53 40. That's not great for a corner. And we've gone for faster corners recently. Rodgers is fast as hell and I think Flowers is very fast too.
Second thought. I like Darnell Washington but sometimes, I think, the RAS scores show traits that don't always add up to the sum of their parts. He's talented, but lumbering. And Jonathon Mingo didn't get much separation in the vids I saw and THAT was in college.
I like Mims and Tyler Scott a LOT more. Tyler Scott is damn good. AND a deep threat with speed...

I think there is a tipping point with the fan base if AR doesn't rescue them...to where fans might start being fans of Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence.
I know that I have rooted for CIN and JAX when I don't root for the Colts, and it may start to get pretty tough to root for them if the GM can't ever figure things out.
Dude. bite your tongue. No offense meant, but man, if all it takes is another pretty face to make someone a fan of another team, see ya.
I lived through Pagel, Erickson, Schlichter, trudeau, Chandler, George, hog-e-boom.
I'm a Colts fan man...

I really want a WR. But MAN, I really like Drew Sanders the LB/Edge from Arkansas.
He can play the pass, he can rush, he's terrific against the run. And we're a little thin at LB with Okereke leaving...

With an arm like richardson's you'd sure like to add a deep threat WR. Somebody with some wheels. We don't have that right now.

When it is our turn there will be some guys like Porter or Mayer or Washington to name a few that some teams will be drooling over that they thought would be gone in the 1st that they will want bad enough to give up a later 2nd and 3rd. We need a lot and If we had 3 picks in the round 2 and 3 we can get a CB, WR and IOL that would help tremendously.
I also like the trade back idea if there isn't a first round type at 35. But I was checking over each teams remaking picks last night and there weren't many with extra 3s...

Carter drop to Bears? Levis -Raiders?
man, if Levis drops to the Titans
and then our division will have Lawrence, Levis, Stroud and we hope ---- Superman

I must admit after all the smoke the past couple of weeks, I am sort of surprised.
BUT if we can get this kid to realize his potential he --- and we --- will be great, phe-nom-en-al.
he is sooooooo talented. Now if he works. He's a gamble on greatness.

Yeah. I think Flowers will be gone before 35.
Also, there should be a lot of good, "coulda been a first rounder" players. One I like is the LB/Micah Parsons like rusher from Arkansas. Drew Sanders. Outside of scoring TDs, we need more guys who can put heat on the opposing QB. He's a very good rusher. Just not sure he fits Bradley's defensive scheme. But having Sanders would also help our LB unit. We've lost some dudes. I do think Jojo Domann will make steps this year...

One of those WR are going to slide into the second round. If there's a guy there that can score TDs, that's who I want.
Jordan Addison, Jalin Hyatt, Josh Downs...

I'll trust Ballard and his crew over Lombardi.

not sure any of them do.
Peyton was one of the best rookie QBs ever.
and he threw 26 picks and we went 3-13 his first year. On a team with bookend OTs, Marvin Harrison and Marshall Faulk.

Did not see that one coming.
Anyone have "kicker" in the pool?

Yes, you would have to pay Fields sooner. The trade off would be possibly skipping the two years that it typically takes a drafted QB to develop. We know that Fields can play on the NFL level. We don't know this about any of the draftees yet. If you draft a QB and then after 2-3 years you realize he is a miss, then you will be back to square one again.
hear what you're sayin, but some would argue that Fields really hasn't developed THAT much at this point. He played well this year, but still has a lot of work to do as a passer, I think.

One issue with trading for Fields rather than drafting one of this year's crop is that Fields is that you only have 2 more years on Field's cheaper rookie contract.
Means having to pay big bucks faster.
I think if you like one of the draftables you take him.

Colts draft 6 now?
yes. in all likelihood, yes.

I don't believe what I'm seeing.
if they score, we could ACTUALLY have 2 ties !!!!
this has been the weirdest season ever...

Two more drives with 0 points to show for it. Unbelievable
-
The challenge for this team right now is to figure out how not to self destruct. I swear, I've seen BAD Colt teams make mistakes, but I NEVER seen a Colts team with this much talent find ways to destroy themselves. Keke's already done it today on a drive that would have scored points.
Having said all of that, and even with Matt playing well, I'd rather run with Sam. That way we either lose out and get in better position for a 1st round QB or we find out that sam can be THE guy.
-
Don't care what anyone says, Sam is a damn QB. I want to keep 3. I know matt is an iron man. But I want to keep Sam. He just wins...

yeah. I saw that he wasn't great in the one-on-ones at the Senior Bowl. But if you look up BYU offense vs defenses, you get a better look. He's very athletic and AWARE. One of the things we were horrible at last year was dealing with stunts. This kid sees them and responds to them. I think he looks good. Does he need time and strength, probably. But he can play. He's sooo tall you wonder if rushers who can reallly dip in the NFL will give him trouble. But I like him.
I know others were hoping for Dawand, but I just didn't see us going that way after Zach Banner way back in 2017...
