  1. Werner wasnt nearly as bad as everyone is making him out to be. As soon as we get rid of him itll be jerry hughes all over again and he will be the greatest thing that happened to the colts.

We shouldve kept Hughes and drafted Xavier Rhodes.

  2. I think that the comments in his twitter feed were gleefully malicious and flat out ugly. Kind of like bullying

It's one thing to dislike play on the field and it's another to take joy in attacking someone via social media

this. if your a teacher and have a student who is failing miserably it is one thing to tell the parents at a conference, but another to shout hey your kid is a failure hes failing at them on a street corner. We can pretend context doesn't matter in which we say things all we want, but it does. People have feelings, and anyone that is looking to hurt them is wrong. A person isnt asking to get their feelings hurt because they created a twitter account or stepped out the door. Satele was asking for it by making a twitter? Is the kid who gets made fun of at school asking for it because he doesn't just drop out?

I guess I take it personal, because I hate comments on forums I frequent that discourage people from intelligent conversations a la "some of you talk bad about the colts, but you wouldnt say it to their faces youre a fake internet tough guy"  Well why are we fake internet tough guys for saying Satele should be gone and not you? How were you able to convey that same message, but not be labeled the same as everyone else?

  3. To each their own

Does this mean if I say something some how not positive about a member of the colts I am a fake internet tough guy? I dont see why anyone would be here just to say how great EVERY player is, I think that would get old pretty fast.

I guess not, you have a lot of posts.  I'm sure if I looked through em all I would never find one negative post where you string up and flog (say something critical) the colts, the coaches, or the fo (sarcasm).

  4. marvin

    or maybe

anyone of the decent defenders polian just let leave:

thornton, june, washington, doss, garcon im sure there was more I was about 11-13 age when we had these guys, but always was sad when they left

    but in order

marvin, saturday (look at satele), sanders, marlin jackson (to replace toler), and edge ( would have him higher, but I think ballard is the real deal)

  5. His screeching childish rant at the camera is what most people thought was out of line. Just because he, and or Crabtree, acted like a pair of prima donna's before, during and right after the game is pretty much irrelevant.

I wish people who like Sherman would stop trying to justify WHY he did it. It was wrong, made him look stupid, and perhaps gave us all a glimpse of his true character. You can like what he did all day long, but the petty justifications trotted out for his actions are a joke.

We all know he is the trash talk king, the showboat queen, and the irritating prince all rolled into one, and he has right royally made a fool of himself.

Which is a darned shame, as he is one heck of a football player.

But hey presto! Look at all the attention that has been focused on him.

    Marvellous.

but its people like you who are giving him exactly what he wants and all the attention, and people like me who are like that was funny but hell fall on his face soon.

at the end of your biggest play of the season arguably to make it to the super bowl your adrenaline is jacked, i would say he was already pretty riled up especially after that shove to the face. Rather than get suspended he blew off some steam saying someone was a sorry reciever lol give the guy a break. Or just keep feeding him...

btw, I know your not from america, but there was a guy here named Muhammad Ali (who sherman idolizes) that talked more trash than probably any athlete in history yet he can do no wrong in anyone's eyes. Go put in some of his dvds and watch him talk shhhh before the matches its arguable the best part. Why doesnt anyone complain about him?

  6. Where? In what city/county/state/country?

There are many examples of a woman accusing a man of rape or sexual assault, and the man not being arrested. It's at the officer's discretion. If they believe there is probable cause, they'll make an arrest. If the woman's story is plainly and obviously bogus, they usually don't.

And of course, an arrest doesn't prove anything. The arresting officer is not responsible for figuring out what actually happened, or who is telling the truth.

exactly they dont figure out the truth they arrest and book, and sometimes guys get found guilty regardless

  7. I had hopes when Satele first arrived that he could be the guy to anchor the line.  As it turns out he just really isn't that good.

I find it comical that people take to this forum and will use it to bash certain players (Satele being a favorite whipping boy), but then get their underwear in a bunch when somebody replies to his tweet saying similar stuff that a lot of people around here are guilty of saying.  He (eblack) hid behind an avatar, just like we are all behind an avatar.  He was being an internet tough guy, just like some on here are internet tough guys.  Some have justified actions taken on this board because it's a forum, and give it a pass compared to twitter.  IMO, any time that you put anything on social media you are opening the door for comments (good or bad) from those who have access to it, and make it an opportunity to have banter back and forth (much like a forum).  Nobody is to blame for any of this but Satele himself.  He decided to have a twitter account, he decided to tweet about this, his garbage play on the field subjected him to ridicule, and he decided to engage in a back and forth when he got called out.  Eblack said to him what a lot of people on here feel.  Was it the exact words you or I might have used? Probably not.  Is he any more wrong for saying it on twitter than we are for saying it here on the forum?  IMO, no.

Dude, were on a message board of course were going to say if we think a player is bad. Why does that mean were some fake internet tough guy? That doesnt mean I would walk up to them on the street though and say hey man you suck, or twitter for that matter. You draw the line, and its a lot different talking about it here than telling him he sucks straight to him thats cruel.

  8. If Bethea wants to be a Colt he will be. This happens every year...Freeney, Garcon, David Thorton...these guys follow the money or have their agents let the FO know what they are looking for pay wise..there is always someone willing to pay a crazy amount for the players second contract. That was the Colts during the Polian era..

to be fair, freeney said he wouldve stayed for even a small amount to retire a colt, and they didnt even give him an offer

  9. Im not a Patriots fan.......And players that are chosen to go to the pro bowl are not mandated to go, Many rather use that time to allow there body to recover rather then playing a meaningless game and potentially get hurt doing it

Yeah we wouldnt want a qb to be hurt in a game where you can only rush 4 defenders and have a few people in the box. He has just as much chance of getting hurt as whats his name in the pro bowl...oh i forgot what was his name? Who got hurt in the probowl playing qb? Ill let you know when i remmber it....(no one)

  10. Mathis said on twitter why does everyone hatin on Bethea? I kind of agree. Bethea has been a loyal colt all these years (ik its a business still) and I wouldnt want him to leave. Yeah he had an off year in coverage but other than that hes pretty good. I'd rather sign him to a modest contract maybe 7 million two years and address our more pressing needs. I dont know why more people don't recognize that our d-line is garbage, if we could just get one impact player there (arthur jones/ ngata) we'd be set.

It is very difficult to run a 3-4 defense without a NT that is very dominant and commands double teams and wreaks havoc. Chapman aint bad. He MAY be that guy one day, but it aint one day today, and we need to go all in now though before we start paying luck 15 million a year plus. Therefore I think we should resign Bethea, because we have much more pressing needs in the trenches on both sides of ball, cbs, and lastly wr (which we can  probably push off another year)

  11. Borland in the second round...    please...

Ehh theres a lot more BPA in the 2nd.

The more i read about Borland, the more I think his measurables WONT hold him back. Kid loves to hit, is physical, wraps up, and most importantly has great football instincts. 2nd no thanks grab a dl or db. 3rd round, jump on him!

Borland, whoever said it above, could just be our thumper in the middle playing 1st and 2nd running downs, with mcnary playing coverage on 3rd and longs since hes such a freak athlete. borlan is a thumper punch you in the face guy we could use in the run defense. McNary is the huge freak athlete that is big and fast enough to cover TEs and HBs on passes.

  12. I dont care what Sherman says. I used to talk smack in sports too to get riled up (not that I was even a varsity level athlete haha lets be honest) in middle school. From personal experience, i think it will stop when he has to eat his words. Its a personal insult to him to have a fade thrown in his direction? I hope good ol' Peyton throws a dime fade to either Thomas's at the 5 yard line, and then Peyton talks smack back lol. I can dream right?

  13. I honestly think Giselles face is kind of manly. Im not into the tall, skinny, super model look and honestly I dont think most guys are either. I like curvessss. Brady could do a lot better.

And am if you didnt know Brady and gisselle are married now. I think he can pull out for two hours and watch the superbowl. I know you dont want to hear that, but Tom isnt inside Gisselle every waking moment he is off the field.

IDC who my girl friend is. We arent having 4 hour marathon sex (which of course brady does everyday) during the super bowl.

  14. I'm with you, would like a Defense heavy draft this time.

IMO, Smallwood and Skov do not make it out of the 2nd round.  Both do well against the run, with Smallwood better in coverage.

My 2nd round pick would be Smallwood.

In the 3rd round, Fuller would be good or as pointed out in other Draft Threads, Keith McGill CB out of Utah.

Is 6'2" and around 205, and everything I have seen on him is that he is a solid CB

I like your 5th rounder in DeAndre Coleman.

6th round, I was looking at Sean Parker, Safety out of Washington. 5'10" and around 190. Was solid in coverage and against the run.

Am not sure about 7th round yet.

UDFAs I am looking at are:

Aaron Colvin CB Oklahoma. Is 6' and around 180.  Was good in 2012, but dropped off this year (injury?). Tore ACL? at E/W Shrine practice.  Pick-up and give him a year to recover like Chapman.

Jordan Zumwait, ILB UCLA. Is 6'4" and 235.  Loves to hit and can cover

There is a few WRs I am looking at as UDFAs.

IMO, we do not need to draft a WR for awhile, but need one on PS to develop and just incase of injuries.

yeah youre right about my ilbers. My draft was very wishful thinking lol. We think the same. McGill i was considering with my coleman pick, do you think hed make it that far? What about Coleman? Does he fall to the 5th?

  15. Legal does not mean it wasn't bush league.

Ok. Just out of curiosity, all you who are complaining about poor Talib have you ever played football at any level? This is an honest question, not meant to bash anyone. I feel there is a very high level of ignorance concerning whats "morally okay in football".

In football, players get hit. Players get hit hard. Its people like you all with your double standards who are ruining the game. Period. If I'm about to lay someone out on either side of the ball do I have to ask the guy to look at me first? Where does this end? I mean jesus! If you aint allowed to hit because someone aint looking, lets say we put that in the rules like all the other stupid ones theyve added. Before you know it defenses will line up facing their endzone so offensive linemen cant block them. I mean they arent looking so its bush league right?

In football the only one who is going to take care of someone is you. A safety has the absolute right to knock the snot out of a wr coming over the middle as soon as he touches the ball period. Thats his territory. He's defending it. You don't wanna get hit going over the middle? Dont play. Football isnt for everyone. All these new rules to increase player safety and we have more acl tears and concussions than EVER before (yet know one sees this).

In football, you're head should be up and moving. You need to be aware of who is all around you at a given time. You arent looking at anyone but you're receiver (showing no ball awareness) and you run into someone and get popped, boo hoo thats on you. This whole defenseless player crap is a bunch of mad up nonsense. You got pads and a helmet on and are playing a violent sport. You have to worry about you and your body. It isnt bill or anyone elses job. If you get popped for not following basic fundamentals boohoo.

Another rule that i cant stand is if a player seems like hes going out of bounds you cant touch him. How ridiculous. If the play is still going on and hes in bounds by 1 cm, i think you should blow him up. So many people are using this to their advantage to gain extra yards. Its sick.  If you didn't want to get hit, you shouldve stepped out before that safety popped your butt. Oh You couldnt get out of bounds before he did? Well gee its freaking football imagine that the ball carrier got popped. Dont carry the ball.

And my last point to all the ridiculous bush league pats fans here is you guys are so hypocritical. Why? Two words

    Rodney Harrison

  16. Love how you drafted all defense. I feel like we should draft defense especially backs, because Pagano has such a good reputation for developing and coaching up players on the defensive side of the ball primarily backs. that being said heres my mock

    2. Kyle Fuller CB Virgina Tech or Dion Bailey S USC (both physical tall DBs with speed, wrap up tackling (see laron landry), and ability to play run) I say take bpa whoever that is among the two I'm not sure.

    3. Yawin Smallwood or Shayne Skov both ILB ( both tall and have ability to play pass coverage. I say take whoever is better at coverage)

    5. Deandre Coleman DE/DT (bit of a stretch at this late stage of draft, but he seems to always fall to me in my mocks here so well take him. Big hard nose defender who can create double teams and wreak havoc on linemen to get our lbers free to make tackles.)

    6. Bennet Jackson CB Notre Dame ( has all the measurable 6'1 4.5-40yd, we really need upgrades over vaughn, toler, and butlers only good in nickel)

    7. Dri Archer or Jeremy Gallon (both scatbacks, speed return, sproles like players)

I'd much rather use free agency to gut the whole interior offensive line. Satele/Mcglynn gone. Thornton will stay obviously hes not making much. Idk if we stand to gain anything from cutting Thomas. I know everyone here is on his jock, but he was mostly a backup before coming who played two games here. Obviously Grigs o-line talent eval suck so spend the money on OL who we KNOW can play. It would be so stupid to not do this imo. IF youre going to insist we are a power run team, then go out and get some personel that make it possible. As often as Luck threw the ball to say we are a power run team is *ic. You want to run, great. Put down the cash on players you KNOW will make it happen and Not career backups and 3rd round unproven picks.

  17.

    2. The most important is that he has no explosion out of cuts.  This is the reason Hilton has trouble getting a step when double covered.  This can not be taught.

IMO, Hilton is a good #2 and will be great when he gets more consistent.

I though that was one of his best attributes was his explosiveness on cuts. Remember in the Seahawks game when he did that little Reggie Bush back juke, the defender goes flying, another guy is closing in, but he still goes from 0-60 and burns that defender to the endzone also. I guess a back juke isnt  the same as a hitch on a route, or a cut to change direction on a route pre-catch, but I think even if what youre saying is true (which it is Im a scrub at this sort of talent eval still) he has the raw talent to fix it. There's a big difference between fast, and football fast as ol Marv used to say. i think T.Y showed the world and brandon browner he's plenty football fast. Still sends shivers up my spine when he scores, and he does the T, Y thing with his hands ha.
