  1. I don't think any of those players are irreplaceable. I'm not sure what their options are this offseason regarding the salary cap but I'm sure they could find a couple of decent players to replace Decker and DRC. You could argue that the pieces are already in place to replace Moreno.

If Manning has another good year in him then I could see the Broncos challenging again next year. If Manning retires then I have no idea what would happen at QB and the potential success of the team would obviously come into question. They'd still be a good team though.

  2. And said it with a smile

I loved Peyton's response though. He delivered it with calm and composure but he was obviously angry and let it show just enough.

I just don't understand how a media reporter can go up to, arguably, the best QB ever... after he has just finished playing in the Superbowl... which capped an unprecedented, record breaking season... and ask him if he's embarrassed. It's mind boggling.

  3. Sports players don't generally watch others because they're in the same business. Musicians don't go to concerts in the same vein. Just not the same interest because they actually do it.

OTOH you as a FAN do. The actor or in this case the football player is in a different place than you or I.

    I don't think that's true.

In my experience, musicians actually go out of their way to watch the other bands that they're on tour with, despite the fact that they're playing the same selection of songs night after night.

  4. I think we need to win the division again.

Then I'd just be happy if we make a decent show of ourselves in the playoffs, like we did this year.

As long as we make a few good acquisitions this coming offseason and we see progress from everyone on the team then that's enough. The 2015-16 season will be the first season that we could realistically expect to make the SB imo.

  5. If the Colts have any dreams of being a power running team, they'll need something called an interior offensive line.

I think we'll have that by next season. We'll have the pieces in place anyway, even if it does take a little time for them to all get on the same page.

I can't see us signing any fewer than 2 offensive linesmen this off-season.

  6. Most people understood on one hand he was an undrafted free agent rookie there for the picking for any team. But because of his obvious potential and seeing how the offense seemed to struggle after the injury to Reggie, Da'Rick offered at least a glimmer of hope. Now how has he done? His single catch against Kansas City was the first of many critical Colt plays in the comeback, so his contributions have been significant based on that one catch alone. I personally think he is still working his way into the offense and is seldom Luck's primary option - not unlike Whalen was just a few weeks ago. If he and Luck continue to progress together, who knows what they might accomplish? But like I said at the beginning, there were reasons he was an UFA, and only time can diminish the doubts.

    Time will definitely tell.

I just feel like I haven't seen any of the things that tend to indicate that a player is a rotten egg. He seems focused and driven on the field, he seems to have a good temperament and he seems to be keeping his head down and working hard.

I'm not saying there was never a reason for teams to red flag him, just that he seems to be happy in Indy and it might be easier for him to stay out of trouble than a lot of people may have thought.

  7. I've been away from the forum for the last few weeks so I apologise in advance if this topic has been discussed at length already but I just wanted to see how you guys think Da'Rick Rogers has performed so far.

Obviously there was a lot of excitement when we signed him and a lot of people were expecting big things. At the same time, however, I noticed a lot of people preaching patience.

Personally, I didn't expect too much. The guy obviously has the talent and physical traits to succeed but I didn't think he would play a prominent role until next season at the earliest.

That being said, he has really impressed me so far. On the field, he looks big and fast and he's made some really good plays in the relatively short time that he's been playing. Off the field, I've seen nothing that concerns me.

Hopefully he can carry on in the same vein. Just keep his head down, keep working hard and keep making plays. If he does so, I think we'll be very lucky to have snapped him up.

  8. I am not sure if I should announce this now of if I should wait until closer to the delivery date. Anyways a new Colts fan will be arriving this Summer (supposed to be 7/17/14). Hope I can do this daddy thing. I will update my fellow Colts fan on if it is a boy or girl as the time get closer. It sure is going to be hard to not be so loud and trying to not let cuss words fly while watching the games next year.

My wife and I are expecting our first child on 7/16/2014. Congrats!

    Congratulations!

We had our son in early July this year...

Based on the trend in this thread Hoosiers should defend their daughters in the month of October...

    Congratulations everyone!

  9. Yea, I think your right. My thought was if we are just rushing Mathis and the line, I feel like someone OTHER than Mathis should be able to get pressure and its been virtually non existent this year.

I'll ask you the same question then. What do you think is the best route to go to increase our pressure on the qb?

I'm not sure that we can fix that problem in the immediate future to be quite honest.

I think we just groom Werner to replace Mathis and play the two of those when we are blitzing, Mathis and Walden when we 'aren't', like we have been.

Obviously if we have the opportunity to upgrade on the interior line then we should give it serious thought, but I'd much rather that money was spent on the OL and an ILB first.

The ability of the linebackers is important, even when they aren't rushing the passer. Our corners are good and if we improve the coverage among the linebacking group then we are likely to see many more coverage sacks. Kind of a pseudo-increase in pressure.
