  1. I have to ask and maybe this was alredy answered but I don't feel like reading through 3 pages of post to see.  But why would you take D.J. Fluker who is a Tackel when we have two already..  Switching from Tackle to Guard is not ideal and not advisable.

Because some of the notes I've read have him better suited in the NFL as a Guard instead and if he is still on the board he might be the BPA.

  2. A 9-year veteran DL named Anthony Adams has retired...

Played for both San Francisco and Chicago.

He has made a video of his retirement announcement and has spoofed himself all along the way...

It's a little more than 4 minutes long....   but it's funny....

And good for Anthony for making himself the butt of his own joke!!

I think you'll like this....   a lot!!

    :funny:      haha               :spit:

I had this on my facebook page last week, living so close to Chicago it was news.  I loved it, he went out with style, and a sack of sliders!

  3. Since the choice is WR/OLB.. I'd pick WR. But OG/C is really the first choice.

Top interior lineman typically go in the latter half of the first round, I'm hoping that holds true this year (DeCastro was mocked to go top 12 in almost all mocks last year but went #24 -- I can't believe the Bears passed on him). Keep Luck healthy and give him more time. Moving the chains more on offense will indirectly help the defense. Luck took a beating last year and it'll eventually take a toll (quite a remarkable season considering the pounding).

Total agreement, O line is more critical but also agree BPA is the way to go.

  4. I wasn't saying that value couldn't be found at #24, just that it was tough. If I go back and cherry pick I can find great players at every pick in the draft. Generally skill players are taken higher in the draft, thus at other positions better value can be found in the latter part of the round.

I pointed out earlier that last year David DeCastro was predicted to go long before the 24th pick when the Steelers got him.  All I'm saying is it can't be ruled out that quality "plug and play" starters will be still available when the Colts get their pick.

  5. The Colts landed Gosder Cherilus and I'm hoping either Chance Warmack, or Jonathon Cooper is still on the board for the first round pick, if not then get D.J. Fluker.  Defensive backs are great but protect the quarterback is the name of the game for now, keep him healthy until he gets enough veteran savvy to let the Colts focus on other positions.

  6. I couldn't access the forums from about 3 o'clock on and now they're up but there doesn't seem to be any mention of the site being down for 12+ hours. It's not that big of a deal but I figure if a site goes down for a full day a mod or someone might clue us in on the problem, update, etc. Perhaps the problem was on my end, in which case, nothing to see here...

Thanks and if it was mentioned and I missed it, I apologize.

It may not have been down but it was hiding very well....

I tried to logon after work last night about midnight and was told the server for the page wasn't responding but I'm also sure the Illuminati had nothing to do with it, they always leave an ambigram......

  7. Cris Carter would trade it for a Ring also. So I guess Brandon Stokley is better than Cris Carter.

Addai is better than Barry Sanders.

Trent Dilfer is better than Marino.

It's all junk anyway, rings are highly desirable but not a qualification for greatness.

  8. The two sports in question, baseball and football in their present forms originated in the USA and as no other countries participated in them, the winner here was titled "World Champion."  Changing it now would be closing the barn door after the cows get out and if another country wishes to participate they should ante up and form a team to challenge for the title.

The World Cup in soccer (called football everywhere but here) is truly a world championship and every team desiring to compete must qualify and compete so bring it on!  Baseball has serious competition world wide and would definitely be more interesting with a world playoff series but (American) football still has a while before anyone else could compete on the same level.

As an aside, when in the Navy in South America we were corrected many times referring to the USA as "America" when they reminded us that they were in America too, South America so I don't make that mistake very often any more.  It's the United States of America.....

  9. Im going to say the Andrew Luck Era will be more successful than the Peyton Manning era and here's why!

Luck arguably had the better rookie year with a lot less to work with. Peyton had a veteran offensie line and Pro Bowl Wideout Marvin Harrison and we only ended up with three victories. Luck led the Colts to the playoffs with practically no line and a team full of rookies and new faces, Luck is that good and he's only a rookie.

Key: Get more talent around this kid quickly. Protection is key. Thank god he's mobie unlike Manning was. He needs another receiver to go along with that arsenal. Luck is going to be great, we just need to give him more help around the ball.

Defense: if the Manning era had a defense, Manning may have had 2 more rings. Personally I like what we are doing more in this era with Chuck Pagano's 3-4. I love the aggressive play style and hard hitting defenses.. The Cover 2 was far to soft and I'm more into having big run stoppers clogging holes and not small speed guys.. We should surely have a top 5-10 defense in a few years. I believe in Pagano and with a balanced team on offense and defense we should surely be a force to be reckoned with. Keep Luck on the fied and the opposing teams offense off it it.

Overall in time I can see the Colts having a very balanced team. Lead by an Elite quarterback we are only setting ourselves up for greatness. I love what Grigson and Pagano are doing compared to the Dungy-Polian era. Prepare for a smash mouth defense and a offense which will be led by Luck that's surely going to score points and win games.

I'm ready to build this monster.. I'm going out on a limb but I'm going to say Luck will win us 3 rings!

    I sure hope so!

Basing future performance from the first year record isn't a great idea as PM went 3-13 so if Andrew were to follow the pattern we wouldn't be happy.

I'm going to wait and see how he does after this upcoming season and should it be great, I'll apologize to all for my skepticism but IMO it is way too early to make predictions and realistically expect them to happen....but we all can hope!
