    hell he has done pretty damn good for a coach that lost his QB 3 weeks before the season started. he has the most average QBs on earth to work with you he can only go so far with coaching.

    dear god he is severely handicapped by the QBs on his roster. he was damn near coach of the year with a capable QB last year.

     

    you've gone so far as to blame our HC just to cover for JB this is a whole other level of embarrassing.

    go look at the JB threads there has been numerous pictures of JB just straight up not seeing wide open players.

    Edit: Cain also hasn't helped himself either and needs to drastically improve his route running.

    true he just sucks at going through progressions that's a big problem

    His route running is bad. You can’t rely on just your speed in the nfl. That’s why he was a sixth round pick.

    he has been open numerous times and your boy just ignores him or throws a horrible pass

    If you find being objective and driven by evidence, and you know doing stuff like forming my own opinion is “putting an asterisk” on things that says more about you. You’ve brought nothing original to this conversation. Mostly second hand regurgitation of opinions that you barley understand yourself. What’s egregious is when you pass it off as your own thoughts without attribution as if people on here don’t read/listen to the same sources.

    Thanks but nobody should be beyond being argued/disagreed with. None of us is perfect and we all have have some weird opinions that might need correcting. I always welcome discussions with well reasoned arguments from anybody here. I know I will be wrong on some things and if I am I'd prefer to be wrong for as little time as possible(i.e. people to persuade me on my misapprehensions)

    Players like Brissett, like Mariota, etc. hold onto the ball because they have trouble eliminating and isolating reads in the progression and going through the progressions. Luck never had that problem, in fact it was one of his strongest suits. Luck played in an Air Coryell system that relied heavily on deep routes that develop slowly. And he was relied to do that PRECISELY BECAUSE he was able to make full field progression reads, with bullets flying all around him!! In fact, this was such a big positive in his game that they gave him that responsibility from day 1. Most rookie QBs, even the ones that can throw deep are eased into a role like that, because the throw itself is the easiest part of throwing deep - navigating the pocket, reading the field and anticipating when to release the ball were much harder and Luck was amazing at it. Luck had the freedom and responsibility to do it from game 1 in his rookie year. 

     

    This is the reason in the last year of his Air Coryell tenure he had about 40% of his drop backs being 7 step drops. This was about 230 of his 580 something dropbacks. Just for reference - most QBs in the league have to play 10 years in the league to get as many 7 step drop backs as Luck was getting in a single season.

     

    The problem with Luck was that he sometimes held the ball too long because of his belief that he can make the play instead of taking a lost down and throwing it away. He was pushing his luck way too much and in some situations it cost us. Luck was holding the ball to make plays(and was making a ton of them), Brissett is holding the ball because he cannot see the throws he needs to make.

    I think Brees may retire so Teddy would stay a Saint.

    I agree that they see something.  I do too.  But they didn't see enough.   They signed Hoyer to be Brissetts backup.  They  let him go making him available for any other team to grab.   No other team did. 

    I was happy he made it back to the Colts and I hope he eventually gets a chance.  I'm not sure he will though.  I think Brissett is the starter next season and they signed Hoyer to a 3 year deal.      

    Hoyer and JBs contracts are not really gonna stop anything. I believe Hoyer's can be ended pretty much next year and JBs would only be for one more year. my point is maybe they think Kelly is more talented than Hoyer but wernt quite ready to trust him until next season and see how he handles himself. he very well could come in next year and play with the 1s and if he plays better than Hoyer and JB they could very well release Hoyer and start Kelly no one knows

    they seen something or they wouldn't be paying that much for a PS player they obviously want him here for some reason. maybe both think he is better than JB and just wanted to give him a year to see how he behaves before making him compete for a backup or starter spot

    Jags - Must win home game. Jags have 2 weeks to prepare. Foles coming back party. Fournette will be a challenge for us. Solid D. Anyone who thinks the Jags are trash haven't looked very closely at them. Has the feel of the Raiders game. Prediction - Pick'em (especially if TY is out)

     

    at Houston - Really need this win for a tie breaker. We won a close one at home. Good run D, bad pass D. Good all around O. Can we throw against them again on the road? Not sure.... Prediction - close loss

     

    Tennessee - Another must win, as it's probably the easiest game we have in the final 7. Nothing would surprise me even if they aren't very good this year. Tannehill has them playing better, and a lot of their losses have been close. Prediction - win

     

    at Bucs - On the road. They've had a lot of close losses. Winston is streaky. Evans and Godwin will be a handful for our LBs and DBs. Best rushing D in the league, so don't expect much from Mack. JB has to win this, and luckily their passing D is bad. Prediction - pick em

     

    at New Orleans - this one could be brutal. Like the Bucs, top 5 in rush D so again, don't expect a lot on the ground. They're OK vs the pass. Good passing game even with Teddy, and much better now that Brees is back. Prediction - loss

     

    Panthers - another home must win. They're riding with Allen now for the rest of the season. McCaffrey will be a handful in both phases. D is good vs the pass, bad vs the run. Prediction - close win

     

    at Jags - see above. Foles now back for 8 games. Prediction - Loss

    not a big Herbert fan but I guess we will see
